My friend had this question for me and im not sure of the answer! why is it that we go through this cycle of death and rebirth constantly to achieve god? where is the point in it? why does god create life if only to destroy it in the end? is there a clear answer for this?

(please no insults, abuse, negative suggestions...if you have nothing nice to say, keep it off this thread)

First you must understand that we are all demigods but do not realize it because of maya. We are unable to use our third eye because of our bad karma. If fact our atma is ony occupying this body fro a certain number of years only and if we realize God and the purpose of being here before that time is over than we would liberated from this bondage of birth and death. Other wise it's going to be the same old story of birth suffering and death over and over again. From the spiritual world we have been cast out into the physical world in order to see how we react and to our creators test. Are we following the Dhrama sastra and be kind to all living creatures? These are the qualities out MASTER would want to test us and if we fail that there is no hope of getting back to the spritual world.

This is not all and there is more to it but it's only part of the reason we are here. But I this this wil sufice for the moment.

We are dying animals and apes.Life has no purpose.we are there because of no reason or purpose. There is no true meaning to life.

Our life has no purpose and no meaning.Does a tree ask why it exists? No,does a hen ask why it exists?no

the world and life need not make any sense. There is no hidden meaning behind life.

Do you know what hen think like? Do you know what trees think about? Can you understand any of them? I'm betting no, and if that's the case, you cannot possibly know whether they do or do not think.

Until now, scientists didn't that animals possessed feelings or any behavioral traits that humans possess. Or plants. Yet, there is evidence to point to the contrary that is coming to light.

The point is, you don't know the truth, you're making an assumption. A valid assumption for yourself, but those justifications for your assumption are very narrow in perspective.

think that some one puts a gun on your or your loved one's head. then think why he should not pull the trigger.

you automaticlly will come up with answers.

this is one way to get the answer.

Maadhav, im not sure i understand your point. if a person were to put a gun to a loved ones head of course i would think id want them to live, but IF it were to happen, id sooner or later need to accept it as karma, or destiny. "the wise lament neither for the living nor for the dead". but how does this relate to the point of life and death in the first place?

Hi Jimbo I wanted to start a thread on exactly the same topic

Why did God create the world if he did not want people live on this planet for long??? What is the purpose of acieving

salvation?. If God wanted to create life on earth ,then why would he want to destroy the very thing he so carefully created?. Why is he multiplying in so many billions of forms

if he knows there is no happiness on this planet?

okay. your question is sincere.

so let me reply.

like god, we teh sould are eternal, qualititively same as god, but quantitatively very minute. we have no power or energy as god has.

becaue god loves us all, he gives us freedom.

god controls all his material energy, and we wished to do it too for our own self. to do this god allows it and his maya makes us forget god. so with desires to gratify senses, we became jivas and assume bodies. but the law of nature is that nothing is permanent, except the basic elements. so the body god maes for us to live in, will grow, and decay. when it decays or gts damaged, we get another body.

when we have a body, we suffer or enjoy. in the spiritual world we can enjoy without a body, but in the mateirla world we need a body, and with the body comes decay and death, happiness and misery.

a yogi or a devotee knows how to live so that one lies happy and dies happy.

brahma creates, vishnu maintains, and siva destroys.

these three activities continuously go on for ever,

(that is how god's world is,)

and never stops.

actually every one, every life lives to enjoy.

when there is a lot of misery, there is some joy, or hope for joy. one who dies not have hope and suffers a lt, he/she dies soon.

some live for others' happiness.

that is a lot of sacrifice.

others live to cause suffering and destruction to others.

it is their joy in addition to their sense gratification.

these are demoniacs. krishn has described them in gita.

so, why we live?

because we have chosen to enjoy with our senses.

if one can give up every desire totally,

one dies.

hunger is pain, but eating food is joy.

thirst is pain, but drinking water is joy.

same for every sense organ.

most joy here is temporary.

krishna tells us to seek permanent joy.

that is real happiness.

hope it helps.

why does god create life if only to destroy it in the end? is there a clear answer for this?

There is No Life and there is no Death.

What your friend perceive as Death is just diminishing of one physical form in order to take the next.

Look at existence as a Bus journey from Point A to Point Z (final destination = God). Bus goes from Point A to Point B and you get down, then you take another Bus from Point B to C and onwards. Of course, you can go back to another Point by deliberately or accidently taking another Bus.

Now, what your friend thinks is Death is the action of getting down from the Bus and await for the next one.

For course, you could then ask, why must we take this journey in the first place? Unfortunately, God IS not the Culprit here ... Evolution in Life on this Planet is.

Dead Planet is one without Life. Life strive forward, evolved to higher forms for survival and continued forward till one day, someone asked, what was the reason for all this, without knowing that he or she had already taken half the journey and almost to the end.

No one asked your permission to have you as a child ... that was your Karma. Same ... no one asked whether you wanted to exist in countless existence, facing Death countless times and wondering about it a few times now and then as well.

Does a tree ask why it exists? No,does a hen ask why it exists?no***

So we must become as *intelligent* as the tree or the hen and ask no questions, eh? That's a great piece of advice. lol. A great way to stagnate.

This was a response to the question: what is the point of our existance?

it is love.

love for the self,

and everything that the self thinks is his.

there are things worth not loving, and some still love them.

this causes problems for them and for others as well.
