Hare Krishna

Chanting the Maha-Mantra take most time, for some reason it varies from 1:45 - 2:15, the other chanting like Hanuman Chalisa/Narasimha Kavacha/Gita/Gauranga Names dosen't take that long, and I pray to picture 'diety' form, I offer Tulasi leaves and flowers/incense. I also recite some prays from a Morning Programmes book, all this is done by the grace of Sri Gauranga...Haribol.

but then no use of doing kavach when there is no faith.

the answer is different for different types of people.

- some do not like other non hindu religions, and so want to find out if they like hinduism. they can begin by associating with good hindus and meet/listen hindu gurus.

they can read biographies if hindu gurus and aacharyas, and read hindu history. this will give them some faith in hinduism to begin.

- some think they are intellectuals and just want to apply their brain to hinduism. they have no interest to practice hinduism. these people actually spoil the image of hinduim very unfairly. their interet is to show the world that tehy are scholars in hinduism, but they actually do not live by hinduism. they should begin with erading works of hindu aacharyas and listen advanced saints.

- there are new generation hindus who did not get chance to know what hinduism is. they shoudl study gita first and them discuss it on forums like this or with gurus.

also understand that there is no danger or risk in holding some faith in hinduism and begin studying it. as one progresses, knows more about dharma, and practices somewhat, he automatically develops faith more and more.

and it is risk free. he can quit hinduism practice any time, and unlike islam, no one will come to kill him.

no one even criticise him.

now, one who is a hardcore atheist,

then he has no interest in any religion.

so no question about his beginning in hinduism arises.

he then would like buddhism or jainism.

hope it helps.
