Guest guest
Yes I have continued to explore answers to why we are different blood types and there is nothing much out there I as yet have found, but I will continue as I am here. You take debate well, thank you, could it be a " Type B " thing?
Guest guest
Ron, First of all, I have NOT read er4yt, and I have made no comments against it. I do want to point out that the author wrote it to make money, whether he's right or not, I honestly don't know. But, you need to keep this man's agenda in mind, whatever it may be. Second of all, I am not really sure why you would use the term " vegan mob " ? I may have missed it, but has anyone called you any names? Thirdly, you are talking with people who LIVE veganism. We, as a collective body, can tell you real benefits, pitfalls, and even ways to make it work for you. We don't have any agenda outside of a shared desire to protect helpless animals. I have had many health challenges, including five major surgeries and anemia that made my rbc drop to 4. I was also paralyzed and in a wheelchair for 6 years prior to becoming a vegan. I could change absolutely nothing except my diet. Six months after I went vegan I started getting the feeling back. I'm no longer in a wheelchair. I don't walk as much as I used to, but I can walk several blocks. This isn't a fluke, it's proveable medicine...I had specialists out the wazoo check me out. I was a " hopeless " case, the paralysis was " permanent " . In fact, specialists from other cities flew in to check me out...just what I wanted " more tests " ...lol not!! As far as I know, it's been written up in the New England Journal of Medicine. I never expected any health improvement from veganism, I did it purely for ethical reasons, so I was about as surprised as the medical experts that I started to heal. I don't miss eating out, I live in a predominately " steak house " enviro, and the smell just grosses me out. I've gotten to be a much better cook than I thought possible, and I've tried foods I didn't know. LOL And I'm not even the most experienced vegan on here, I'm sure. Given a chance, you might find that we know about " vegan " because we live it. Finally, I want to point out that many things can sound " scientific " . I say that because my college major was chemistry. The way to really tell is to ask for sources, credible sources. What are the sources that back up er4yt? I do want to know, I'm not being facetious. , " Ron " <ron.zzxx wrote: > > i am not defending er4yt but who says it has been discredited, by > rhetoric and demagoguery? by the vegan mob? have you read it? it > seems very scientific to me. > > , " jo " <jo.heartwork@> wrote: > > > > They have similar programmes here I believe. Guest guest
Thank You for pouring out there, I love that, I must choose my words better although I did not envision you in that " mob " . I barely passed English class in High school, so i struggle sometimes to find the right words, or even thoughts. I understand this is a Vegan Group and I do appreciate the extent you all have discussed this perplexing issue. , " tofuchick24 " <tofuchick wrote: > > Ron, > First of all, I have NOT read er4yt, and I have made no comments > against it. Guest guest
Years ago, way before veganism, I actually ripped my calf muscle in half...dangling foot the whole bit. I was advised by one of my instructors, an RN, to eat protein with omega 3's at least 5 oz per day (at the time I only knew of tuna), and to supplement with 500 mgs of vit C with rosehips. The rosehips was important. I had to wait a couple of months for a surgeon's appt, so during that time I followed the regime. By the time the surgeon saw me the muscle had completely regenerated. The surgeon had all of the tests results prior to the visit so he knew the muscle wasn't connected initially. The surgeon was shocked and I found out later that he contacted my teacher concerning this. If it happened now, I'd just go with tofu and flax. <grin> And the supps of course. Crutches bring back some horrible memories, you have my deepest sympathy (or is that empathy?)

Guest guest
What makes you think they add lots of sugar and salt to tofu? or is it different in your country. Admittedly you can marinate tofu with various flavours, but then most people do that with meat and fish as well - so no advantage having meat, is there. Guest guest
We have tofu maybe once a week, sometimes fairly plain, sometimes fried in herbs. We don't usually marinate it as I'm supposed to be careful with salt. It is very nice fried with a full breakfast. One of my email friends who works for the Vegan Society eats tofu every day and looks extremely healthy on it. Guest guest
we prolly have tofu 3 times a week..maybe more on certain weeks i'll often eat it straight out of the package while cooking with it sadly, my fave tasting tofu, small planet, is harder to find around here the last year. i think Rainbow is the only place i've seen it lately. and just can't make it over to rainbow that often. jo Sep 13, 2007 11:20 AM Re: Re: more on "man the hunted" if you're interested We have tofu maybe once a week, sometimes fairly plain, sometimes fried in herbs. We don't usually marinate it as I'm supposed to be careful with salt. It is very nice fried with a full breakfast. One of my email friends who works for the Vegan Society eats tofu every day and looks extremely healthy on it. Guest guest
We usually get the basic tofu, although Peter had a braised tofu once which was very tasty, and a different texture. It's a shame about your favourite.
