Welcome, Suzy!

We also have a cholesterol problem here with my dh. My two children, dh and

I have been doing vegetarian for a while now, and really prefer the variety

and interesting flavors as compared to heavy meat meals.

I have a question about your screen name - (pywacket). My MIL had a cat by

that name, and I always thought that she made it up. Could you please tell

me the significance, history, etc of the name? The suspense is killing me.

TIA,

Jude

I got a bit put off the American Green Party due to their connections with

the Canadian Green Party - for the " Canadian Green Party " read " Canadian

Censorship Party " .

Hi Chris

Oooh - someone to talk to about music :-) Actually, Jo's more into the

extreme stuff, I'm more interested in prog-metal but I'll quite happily

listen to people like Emperor, Carcass, Entombed (older stuff), Morbid Angel

etc.

Well - amongst their higher profile campaigns have been ones to ban the

importation of fairy stories into Canada because they contradict Christian

views, and successful attempts to curtail freedom of speech of certain

individuals in America and the UK by making potentially libellous claims of

racism! On top of that, some of their more high-profile members have been

involved in campaigns to prevent the removal of the statue of the founder of

the Ku Klux Klan from Washington (although I don't think this is " official "

policy of the party, it is still worrying that these people influence

policy).

Y'know Carcass were all at least vegetarian, and I think they were all vegan. In fact, there seems to be quite a lot of them - Barney from Napalm Death, and then the whole "straight edge" movement - groups like Earth Crisis.

If you make it something by the Sex Pistols (about the only punk group I know any lyrics to), I'll join you! :-)

Yes - most definitely :-)

Do you listen to TotalRock? There's a punk show on Sundary afternoons 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Talented band :-( Do you like Arch Enemy? I was booked to see them, but

they had to cancel, cos the vocalist has nodules! I think they'll be

performing in March now.

I like prog too. We went to see Transatlantic the other night - very good,

and like some of Peter's favourites Dream Theater, Vanden Plas, Shadow

Gallery, Royal Hunt, Empty Tremor etc.

Peter didn't mention that he plays excellent black metal.

what kind of progmetal? That's not really my thing, but I'm

interested in what you define as prog,we may share some interests

there as well....you like Rhapsody? But yeah,Emperor rules..have you

heard the new album?GODLY!...I love Carcass, old Entombed, and Morbid

Angel as well...I like this mailing list already!!!

>

that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!!! I can tell you that

us GPOPers (Green Party of Philadelphia)wouldn't stand for such a

thing. That sounds more Republican than green...jeez.Whats wrong with

those crazy Canucks?*sigh*

and successful attempts to curtail freedom of speech of certain

like what? Can you give me any examples?I'm not doubting you, just

curious.

Well,it damn sure isn't policy of the Green Party *I'm* involved

in!!! Again, this is ridiculous and appalling...honestly,me and you

should talk about this offlist...if what you say is true,I'd like to

see about getting these cats " de-Greened " ,so to speak...hmm,I'm

wondering..there is a group that exists that is bastardising the

Green's good name..they're called..get this..The Libertarian National

Socialist Green Party...aside from being a mouthful...their emblem is

a Green Swastika flag!! the address is nazi.org Terrible

stuff...it's a shame, cause they start off with all these great

ideas, and then a few paragraphs down, suddenly it's all about the

evils of Jews and race-mixing and Aryan superiority. *sigh*..perhaps

the " Greens " you've encountered are a faction of this group, and not

the true Greens? I dunno,it's a suggestion. But let's talk...

nice to meet you!

Carcass were indeed vegan...and don't you go getting me started on

the whole vegan sXe music scene,or else poor Fraggle will get upset

and go hide in his barrel of hops :) But speaking of Earth Crisis,

I'm interviewing Karl, who was the vocalist, this Friday..if any of you

have any questions you'd like me to ask him,let me know.

I don't even remember how long it's been since I've dusted off

my " Never Mind the Bollocks " tape..I probably remember all the words

tho...
