Guest guest
Namaste! I'm certainly no expert on the way the system operates but perhaps the people can track where the repition is occuring. Do they have a customer support number? I, personally have NEVER gotten a duplicate message so it seems strange that could send just one out to some and lots out to others unless their data base is corrupted and those getting multiple messages are listed with them several times. Is it always the same number of repeats? G. Guest guest
Golden Seal is the best anti-flu remedy i've found. Also religiously avoid eating meat for the time being. My experience shows that meat tends to intensify the circulation of viral poisons in the body. At 06:16 AM 11/19/01 -0800, you wrote: >I need some help. Guest guest
This is absolutely sickening! Oppositional Defiance Disorder is a complete fiction! Fire the doctor who made the diagnosis! Hire a private investigator to find out what crimes that doctor has committed! If necessary, arrange to get that poor kid out of town so he won't be harrassed by these evil thugs! Are my statements extreme? Most folks, unfortunately, don't even know any of the story. Anyone of good conscience who has had a long-term encounter with the mental health system will tell you that i am being very polite and mild with the statements in the first paragraph. ODD was VOTED into a strange little book called DSM-IV, which is a list of mental problems correlated with numbers which can then be used on insurance claim forms so that someone with deep pockets can pay tolls to giant pharmaceutical companies. It is entirely a creation of people who want to sell very dangerous drugs to the parents of innocent children. There is no physical basis whatsoever for this supposed " condition " , except in cases where simple good nutrition has been proven to work. So a kid speaks up against what he sees as injustices. Big hairy deal! He should be hugged and patted on the head and given organic fruit juice sweetened cookies for being so brave! Seriously, i work as a schoolteacher and have to deal with flack from kids all the time. If someone is constantly speaking up, or doing disruptive things in school, then somebody needs to sit down with the kid for an hour, or maybe take a long walk through the woods, and find out what he sees to be the sources of injustice in his world. Some things can be straightened out easily. Other things might not be fixable, and in those cases that needs to be carefully explained to the kid. And in most of these situations, i have found that the kid has a fundamental misunderstanding of some word, meaning a concept, that is constantly being put before him. I have literally encountered cases where getting a kid to understand a simple word like " the " or " in " has caused a dramatic turnaround. And of course gaps in education are in themselves a form of injustice. On the nutritional side, of course avoiding sugar almost always helps. With most kids you have to find substitutes, and perhaps grit your teeth through a couple of temper tantrums if an important food like Kool-Aid is suddenly taken away. Many children, especially if they live in poor environments (which can be anywhere, even in rich neighborhoods), are sensitive to artificial flavors and sometimes colors. Simply learning how to make exotic cookies and avoiding highly decorated, processed foods from convenience stores has done wonders for many kids. Guest guest
Hey Michael: (That's right, I'm answering everything you post today!) I totally agree with you, and when I talk about it in meatspace I tend to use even stronger words ('specially the kind with four letters). I hope you keep the integrity of what I see as your very informed opinon, but I encourage you to temper the words a bit when dealing with people you don't know -- here's why. Someone told my mother almost this exact same thing when my brother was diagnosed with ADD, and she almost punched him! The sad thing is, had he put it differently, and gotten her--an RN--to see his side without putting her on the defensive, she might not have made the decision she did, and my brother I think would be a different person today. It can be harder in some cases for people to hear that their kids are fine and just need extra attention than it is for them to accept an 'illness' (which has the *perceived* advantage of being a blameless problem). If anybody ever suggests such doo regarding *my* children, mind you, I'm going for my baseball bat and my lawyer both. Bad enough that they dupe adults into taking their snake oil; IMO trying to Rx such drugs to children should be a crime equal to selling crack at an elementary school. Thanks for another interesting rant. --Sara >This is absolutely sickening! Oppositional Defiance Disorder is a complete fiction! Fire the doctor who made the diagnosis! Guest guest
Hello Everyone, This is a very interesting topic, and one that hits close to home for me. I am currently in a dilemma, and would like some opinions. I have a 16 year old son who at 3 years old was labeled as emotionally disturbed. He didn't speak yet at that time, and he also had some strange habits. When I first saw the movie Rain Man, I saw a lot of my son in Dustin Hoffman's character. When he was evaluated however, they told me he was not autistic, but did display some autistic tendencies. I think they were right about that, as he outgrew many of the habits he had. He has been in regular school classes since 1st grade, and he has no problem with school work, or school itself. He is extremely shy, and I think he may have social anxiety. He won't answer the door, or the telephone if it is someone he doesn't know. He will go to extremes to avoid people he knows for fear they might speak to him. He has his permit, and he's already tried dropping out because he doesn't want to get in the car with the instructor. He also talks to himself, something he has done since he was a small child. Anyway, I could go on and on, but to cut it short, I have studied this disorder and my son exhibits all the symptoms. Should I go the ''normal way,'' therapy, etc.; Or is there something I can do ''naturally''? Everyone's help will be greatly appreciated. Love, Nijma
Guest guest
<<basically odd is where the child doesn't listen to authority figures; has temper tantrums; interrupts when others are speaking among other things>> Hmmmmm....sounds like a typical young child to me ( & some adults I know). I realize that there is probably more to the problem than this, but I have to agree with what Michael had to say. I feel that a lot of kids problems today have to do with the way parents deal with them. My three boys...who are ALL teens now...17, 15, 13, were never allowed to throw tantrums, be disrespectful, etc...even it that meant that they were deprived of something or swatted on the behind (in public if the need be). They are very good young gentlemen now even if I do say so myself and my husband and I are very proud of them. They are hardworking, friendly, well adjusted men. We get compliments from people about them all the time. My best friend on the other hand chose a very different approach to parenting than we did and now here son who is 10 is a handful. He was given timeouts, never yelled at, and threats were never carried out by the parents. He has also been diagnosed with ADD, which I feel is another way for doctors & drug companies to make money at the expense of young children. Well enough of my ranting.....just my .02 worth. Guest guest
To some degree the problem is the structure of schools themselves. They are set up to be more responsive to pressure coming down from above, in other words " recognized experts " , than to the normal desires of ordinary parents. There is little that we can do about that, short of running for a seat on the school board. This means that many parents have opted to take their children out of public schools. We are very familiar with that, and in fact that's how my wife and i met, in a discussion group devoted to this subject. The tragedy here is that most parents are not physically or economically in a position to do that. And, i know of situations that got so intolerable, the parents took their kids out anyway, and found a way to make things work out. In many states, it is flat-out illegal for school officials to require that children be put on drugs. But they often try anyway. If you're running into this sort of thing, feel free to contact us privately -- we've had a lot of experience coaching people through this. Most public schools simply don't have any means to give attention to anyone. Certainly there are many teachers who would like to help out in that way, but the system works against them. These are some of the reasons why i teach in a private school. Guest guest
My name is Debbie and I am new to this group. I got this website from a dear friend of mine and have enjoyed reading everyone's inputs. I look forward to reading them. It seems like a lot of the things I have read have hit home with me. And on this one I relate too. You see I have a beautiful son. And from the time he could walk he I truly thought he was a demon child forgive the term. But he was truly a problem. And it would have been very easy to label him A. D. D. I thank God everyday for the Dr. he had. I guess you would call him from the old school. Anyway it took a long time. I guess till about 3rd grade. But finally got my son back. You see he was a mean and really bad boy I guess you could say. He would throw fits in the store and was extremely mean to everyone and everything. I started by taking something away he truly love when he miss behaved and only giving attention when he did something good. You see he though bad behavior was the only way to get attention, and when he finally released it wouldn't work and only good behavior would get him the attention he need he started to change. It was a very trying time for everyone one and something that I never wish on anyone. But the reward was and still is the grates thing. You see he is now 14 and the most kind hearted and well behaved child I could ever wish for. He is at the I call brain dead stage where his hormones are bouncing off each other, but he is a very special gift from God. And I am thankful for him even when he gets a little goofy. I just remember how he used to be and how he is now. When I tell people how he used to be no one believes me. Anyway good luck and hang in there. It will work out just stick with what your inner self tells you, you know what is the next right thing. God bless. Thanks For your time, Debbie

Guest guest
Hi, Recently I became part of this group at Frank's invitation. I notice some members of our own group are here as well and that is good. About 12 years ago I was dxd with stage IV Prostate Cancer and one thing led to another and by this time we have seen the effect of Flaxseed Oil in a lot of situations involving cancer. I am going to put on a document or two that may give some ideas. Cliff ********* Recent Significant Developments as of February 27, 1999 Following are some things which may be of significance and which I would like to relate to people who seek information. They are things which are an encouragement to me , and I trust to others as well. At the same time, I am not giving medical advice. What I am doing is giving information concerning things that have happened and it is up to each Individual to do with it what he or she wishes. Most people do not talk to doctors about this as it seems silly, but it isn't and it is a thrill to see people getting well that as far as doctor's expectations are concerned, should be dying. This document contains things that I want to tell everybody, and it just occurred to me that I can do it this way and simply send it as an attachment. I am fairly new at Email and am feeling my way and learning as I go along. My goal is to get out the greatest possible amount of meaningful information in the least possible time. A year ago last October a lady who is a good friend of ours had a mammogram and it was suspicious. She immediately began using flaxseed at three tablespoons a day. A biopsy was set up for a week later and it was malignant. She underwent a lot of tests and when it was determined that the cancer had not spread a mastectomy was recommended. She had to follow the recommendations or tenure would not pay the $3000.00 for the tests. They waited about six weeks trying to get a doctor to do reconstructive surgery at the same time but couldn't arrange it.. Finally, it was felt that she should have the procedure before any spread occurred. The operation was performed and the removed tissue sent to the lab for analysis. There were no cancer cells detectable. She said the only good thing about it was that she had told the doctor what she was doing and he suddenly got very interested because his wife had had a double mastectomy and was not doing well. At the time, I did not know who the doctor was, but I do know now and all I have heard is that his wife is doing well.. On the web page and the tapes the story is related concerning Maxine. At the end of May, 1992 she was in the late stages. She was still able to dress and get meals but then had to lie down. She began using the oil, half heartedly at first, and didn't get worse. Then she used it more heavily and before long an MRI showed all clear. A year later she had to change doctors as the first one moved and the new doctor went over the records and told her that this was a miracle; there was no way she should still be alive. About a week after Christmas, 1998, she called me and said that she had had a check-up a week before Christmas and all was well. Then the doctor told her he had just found out that HE had cancer. Now, Maxine told me, I decided to tell him from the very beginning what I had been doing and what had happened. Then she told me that she said to him, " I'm no doctor, but you have nothing to lose, and you had better get with it! " He said, " I'm going to. " He knew her history and that she had been doing no standard treatment and, when his life was on the line, feelings and attitudes changed. A few months ago a young woman brought her father in law for a visit. He had been found to have colon cancer and the tumors had practically filled the colon before it was realized. The doctors decided to try a new approach and insert a tube to hold the tumors out of the way and allow normal functions while an experimental chemo was use in an attempt to shrink the tumors. They came on a Saturday and the procedure was scheduled for Monday. Not wishing to die for lack of trying all possibilities this man started using flax oil immediately at four tablespoons a day. He was back in a few weeks for more oil, some for himself and some for some folks he knew, and was happy. He said the tube was uncomfortable. He said the tumors were shrinking rapidly and one day he had a big BM and the tube was not there any more. He has been back several times since then. One problem is that he is not telling the doctors what he is doing. If he recovers, as it seems is happening, it will be an interesting result for the new chemo, or will it? This morning, March 26, 1999, there is a new development that I feel we should add to this document. On Saturday January 23 I went to a prostate cancer support group meeting for the first time. It was a bad morning to drive and a gentleman came for the first, and perhaps only, time. He took a cancer tape with him. Just after that his wife was found to have a rare, fast growing tumor that was developing in the aftermath of a mastectomy. The prognosis was very grim and the doctor gave her little hope. It was determined that chemo would be given in an effort to slow down the cancer but the only hope for survival would probably have to be stem cell transplants, which in itself is a dangerous procedure. She was very concerned and frightened concerning the future. Having become aware of the values of flaxseed oil she began using it at six tablespoons a day and had gotten a rebounder and was using that at first, but had to abandon that because it aggravated something in connection with the chemo, as I understand. She told the doctor that she was using flaxseed oil. His only comment was that she should go ahead; that it couldn't hurt. After the third treatment, the tumor has disappeared. The doctor told her that he could guarantee that the cancer would return unless she went with further treatment. They are going to do further treatments with a drug that is supposed to strengthen the immune system. She is sure that the flaxseed oil has played the major role in the situation but that won't be recognized. However the only thing that matters is that the crisis appears to be over, the stem cell procedure won't need to be used, she is feeling very good abut it but hardly daring to believe yet that she is facing a normal future. She will be continuing the use of flaxseed oil and depending on a strong immune system to prevent any recurrence. She is very much aware that the meeting that day was more than coincidence. The weather was terrible, her husband almost turned back twice and Mary Anna was very much opposed to my going. She is aware that The Lord was watching over her and we believe that also. Three months ago when we were in my doctor's office there was a couple in the waiting room to whom we spoke briefly. That night the lady called us. He husband was a retired college professor. His left lung had 85% cancer involvement. It had been decided to remove the lung at the Thompson Survival Center in Knoxville, but when the incision was made and the chest opened it was found that the cancer had spread and it was decided to close and do what they could with radiation and chemo. The radiation regimen had just been completed but the man and his wife had decided not to go through the misery of chemo and just live out what time there was left and let it go at that. The doctor did not disagree with that decision. The reason the lady called was to tell me that the doctor had suggested that they come to Rutledge and get flaxseed oil and start using it at four to eight tablespoons a day. Yesterday the doctor said that she had seen him a week ago. The cancer was still there but there was no change and he was holding his own. Today, August 1, 1999, the following account appeared in a personal web site newsletter put out in Texas: We received some wonderful news this week. The niece of close friends of my parents was diagnosed several months ago with widespread cancer. Basically, this young 32 year old woman, the mother of three children, was told there was nothing that the doctors could do for her and she was sent home for whatever time she had left. My parents told their friends about the use of Flaxseed Oil and cottage cheese and they discussed it with their niece. She had lost all her appetite and was losing weight as well as having no energy at all. Shortly her appetite came back, her energy level was almost back to normal and she was eating regularly again. It has been about three months since this young woman started using flax oil. At her last doctor's visit all the tumors seem to have disappeared and everyone is calling it a miracle. I feel certain in this case that I can name the miracle " The Lord and Flax Oil " . This has really stirred up everyone in San Antonio. On Wednesday October 13, a couple was visiting in our living room. A few months back he was also here talking about flaxseed oil. At that time he told us he had been given about two weeks more to live. He had Leukemia. He had been treated with chemo, but as I understand it that had been given up. He felt he had nothing to lose by using flaxseed oil. He is using four tablespoons per day. As of Wednesday he is again a healthy, robust man with all tests normal. We are PRAISING THE LORD!!
