The short answer to the question " is there a cure to tinnitus

? " is

that there isn't one but there are things you can do to reduce

it.

You just have to research it and pick things up here and there.

This site has a list of drugs that can cause tinnitus, other

information and links.

http://www.hadassah.org.il/hmo/tinnitus/tinnitus.htm

This is the most " interesting " information I have found on

the

subject. It is a letter written by a man who went to India to find

relief from his tinnitus.

Dos and Don'ts of Tinnitus

Dear fellow friends,

I am getting relief from Tinnitus. Here is the routine that I follow

everyday.

Get up in the morning at 5 A.M.(My tinnnitus is the highest at this

point .. on a scale of 10 it is 10)

Do yoga exercises.

I learnt this when I went to India for Tinnitus treatment.

I do head massage with sesame seed oil for 10 minutes and then the

face

massage starting with your nose , sinus and behind the ear.

I drink two 16 oz glasses of hot water.

I walk for fifteen minutes on an Acupressure mat that I purchased in

India.

I drink one more glass of 8 oz hot water. I walk for 30 min and roll

a acupressure ball between my hands. Books on acupressure are also

available pointing exactly where to press for relaxing the tinnitus

or

the ear ringing problems. All of this doesn't cost much either.

I eat oatmeal cereal with raisons and one banana.

At this time my noise level has come down to a level of 2.

I take a shower but do not use shampoo. I use gram flower( found in

Indian grocery stores)I can explain to any one who wants to know on

how to use it.

My level come down to 1. I do take prescribed to me by Ayurvedic

doctors in India. and these are Gerriforte, Navjeevan ras,

Vatagunjankus ras, sarivadi Vati.

At lunch I eat very simple easily digestible food and drink one glass

of hot water.

During the day instead of drinking coffee or tea I drink hot water

only.

In the evening after coming home I eat 3-4 dates, eat one mango.

I eat very easily digestible food with bread and repeat the

medication

prescribed to me by the Indian Ayurvedic doctors.

I live in USA and as you know most of the doctors here have given up.

I went to India on May 1st and I am feeling the relief now. I did not

want to write to the group until I felt better.

Acupressure matt and Ball are really helping me a lot.

I am not cured but relived and doctors are promising me that withing

6 months

this may even go away.

At an herbal conference I attended once, a woman with the same symptoms said she was cured by following a diet to eliminate candida. It seems that yeast does all kinds of crazy things to us! Best of luck to her! Sue>jalisic579

Dear Lut,

Namaste.

You are right!

The best thing to do when unsure, is to:

1. invoke

2. scan

3. cleanse and energize the affected chakras and body

parts.

4. stabilize and release projected energy.

Then, observe what happens.

Love,

Marilette

Hi,

My husband has had a problem with ringing in his ears for many

years. After reading an article written by Dr. Mercola (can be found

on the Internet) stating that putting hydrogen peroxide in your ears

will help to prevent the flu, he tried it.

To our surprise, the ringing has stopped! He puts a few drops of 3%

(food grade) hydrogen perodixe (sold in the drug store) in each ear

once every couple of days and the ringing has stayed gone.

When you put it in you will hear a sizzling sound and sometimes it

bubbles. It works really good for cleaning your ears out too. You

can even put a little on a Q-tip and clean the outer portion.

How it helps!

I would be interested in hearing what you find out about your

tinnitus. You bring up an interesting observation about the flu shot

prior to your tinnitus. I have had ringing in my ears along with a

stiff neck now since last January. I had the flu shot some time in

November 2002. I did not get a flu shot this year. I have an

appointment at the end of the month with the doctor.

This may not help everyone with tinnitus,

but I have heard that it often is linked to a sluggish

liver.

In Traditional Chinese medicine the meridian

for the liver/gallbladder loops around the ear

several times.

There was a website about this but I lost it.

Clearing up your liver is always worth a try!

If it won't help the tinnitus, at least you will

feel lighter and in better shape all over!

I learned in pharmacology that tinnitus is a side effect of aspirin toxicity. Have you taken a lot of aspirin or aspirin-containing products? The effects can last for a while.

We usually use a dropper to put it in the ear. We let it stay in and

what isn't needed flows out. Hope this helps!

Ruth, Amadeus

I use 1.5-2.0% and add it by dipping a Q-tip and carefully inserting it into the ear channel and rotate (twist) it

I do each ear 3-5 times each night before bed. It will fizz for a few minutes but I am usually asleep before it stops. I always sleep on my back and have never had any sensation of it running out. I just assume that it all evaporates. I seldom ever have removed wax and when I did I used a Q-tip. the wax was always very soft. Haven't even tried it since using the H2O2. (3 months) I haven't had a hint of a cold or flu for over three years Only using H2O2 and CS for about 3 months.

Cheers, Doug

One person I know got rid of the ringing after months by taking

blue green algae. I Think it is because the algae will open up

the arteries, where the blood is travelling. It's worth a try.

I have heard of another remedy, but don't remember it right now.

I'll do some research and if I come up with it, I'll write again

today.

Single Oils: Helichrysum, juniper, geranium, peppermint, lavender,

and basil.

• Lavender with basil, layered on temples and forehead.

Massage helichrysum or juniper. Additionally, apply juniper with

peppermint and geranium on tips of toes and fingers, and on the

brainstem, so that the oils get into the nerve pathways. It generally

takes 12 to 15 minutes to notice a change in hearing. Apply 1 drop of

helichrysum on the opening of each ear.

Never pour oils directly into the ear.

Dear Kishore,

Oftentimes, the presence of sound in the left ear is not Tinnitus but the Audible Life Stream, the Bani, the Sound Current, the Music of the Spheres or that which many hear as the Voice of God, who are seekers of a greater truth and a deeper love for God. Certainly, it could be Tinnitus. However, you might inquire as to its consistency, its harmony and what happens if your daughter surrenders to its melody. Man is quite wise when he seeks only to heal himself of that which stands between him and God and not that which leads him to God.

Much Love in Spirit,

Stephen

I've had good luck with recalcitrant tinnitus using a Master Tang point Rx.

Bilaterally disperse Lu 5 and tonify " Ming Huang " (located at the midpoint

of the midline of the medial aspect of the thigh, usually this is opposite

GB 31, but medial. Go opposite GB 31, and slide proximal until you fall into

a depression. It is usually quite tender.) Retain for 30 min. Typically, the

tinnitus will be reduced by the end of that session.

I've also had immediate results by palpating deeply in the area between GB

12 and GB 20 while the patient is supine, looking for a spot that changes

the ringing. Needle that spot and get strong De Qi. Usually, the tinnitus

will oscillate for a while, then diminish by the end of the treatment.

Patients I have used this with all had sudden onset tinnitus of years

duration, with mixed KD Def and GB Excess, but the Master Tang points are

worth trying regardless of etiology.

Thanks Benjamin. I am very grateful for your quick reply and also the

other responses I got, Matt, et al. He is coming in tomorrow so I will

have some new tools to consider. I'd like to get a better fix on the

location of Ming Huang. Is it on the opposite side of the leg from GB

31, medial aspect of the leg. Is it on the SP channel, ST channel?

Find the level of GB 31 go medial (I guess my quesiton is how medial)

and then go promiximal until I fall in a depression.

If you can clarify the location, I would be very appreciative.

It may be coinsidered to be on the Liver Channel. It is the midline

of the medial aspect of the thigh, just as the GB channel is the

midline of the lateral aspect of the thigh. The inner thigh is 14

cun (buttock crease to popliteal crease), and the point is halfway

(7 cun), which means it is at the level of GB31, but palpation

should reveal it easily.
