Guest guest Report post Posted August 19, 2007 I have not done it myself, but my teenager does off and on. She was having a lot of tooth pain, and I had her give it a try. She’s a teen, so I’m sure she slacks when she’s having no pain, but it has definitely helped her when she used it. She went from several pain episodes a month (seemingly from a crowded wisdom tooth) to only one in the past few months, which she reported as less painful. She admitted to being lazy about the oil prior to that episode. I also switched to a tpaste without fluoride and she ordered a Dr. Christopher’s tooth powder later, so those changes could be contributing to her improvement as well. Guest guest Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Oil pulling From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Oil pulling or oil swishing, in alternative medicine, is a traditional Indian folk remedy that involves swishing oil in the mouth for claimed oral and systemic health benefits. It is mentioned in the Ayurvedic text Charaka Samhita where it is called Kavala Gandoosha / Kavala Graha.[1] No scientific evidence shows anything being forced/pulled from the body by " oil pulling " .  Procedure The practitioner rinses their mouth with approximately one tablespoon of oil (sesame and sunflower oils are the most recommended) for 15−20 minutes on an empty stomach (preferably first thing in the morning, before eating/drinking), then spits it out.[2] This procedure is typically performed daily.[3] The oil is put in the mouth, with chin tilted up, and slowly swished, sucked, chomped and pulled through the teeth. The oil changes from yellow and oily consistency to a thin, white foam before spitting out. The mouth is rinsed out well after the procedure and followed by 2 - 3 glasses of water.  Please take note that iol pulling and gargling is totally different ways, its more on sucking the oil through your teeth.  Bernard --- On Wed, 8/13/08, Anne <annroc2004 wrote: Anne <annroc2004 Re: oil pulling Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 7:24 AM 1. Guest guest Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Oil Pulling Cures Updated: 08/11/2008 INTRODUCTION TO OIL PULLING ( " OP " ) REPORTED CURES WITH OIL PULLING: Mouth & Gum Disease; Stiff Joints; Allergies; Asthma; High Blood Sugar; Constipation; Migraines; Bronchitis; Eczema; Heart, Kidney, Lung Diseases; Leukemia; Arthritis; Meningitis; Insomnia; Menopause (hormonal issues); Cancer; AIDS; Chronic Infections; Varicose Veins; High Blood Pressure; Diabetes; Polio; Cracked Heels. Here's are a few paragraphs from Bharat Savur's article on The Hindu Business Online .... " When Dr Karsch examined the gargled milk-white oil under a microscope with 600 magnification, he saw live organisms swimming in it. It's poisonous, so never swallow it, he warns. These poisons are bacteria-embryos, which, if not eliminated, cause diseases. Apparently, Dr Karsach cured his own chronic blood disease and 15-year-old arthritis. The first sign of improvement is in the teeth-they become firm and white, he says. Other healing indications: fresh, relaxed feeling on waking up, disappearing dark pouches below the eyes, anew appetite and energy, better memory and deep sleep. Dr Karsch swears by the mouth oil-wash for anything from organ-disorders, skin-diseases, menstrual problems, paralysis to every ache and it is in the human anatomy. You can gargle even when you have fever, he says, adding, it takes anything from two days to a year to cure a disease. And if these claims sound exaggerated, he told a conference of Ukrainian cancer specialists, try out the process yourself. Interestingly, Ayurveda advises oil gargling " to purify the taste-buds and the entire system " , as explained by Dr Deepak Chopra in Perfect Health. According to this life science, the tongue is mapped by organ-locations -- that is, each section of the tongue is connected to the kidneys, lungs, spleen, liver, heart, pancreas, small intestines, stomach, colon, and spine. Thus, an oil-mouth-massage soothes and stimulates the key meridians where taste meets organ. Simultaneously, as in any skin-massage, the inner skin and lining of the mouth, palate and tongue become warm and supple and the lubrication prevents dryness (the vatic effect). In modern dietetics too, dryness is discussed. For example, lack of Vitamin A (retinal) causes the outer lining of the eyeball to dry and wrinkle, and affects vision. And as any dietician would tell you, all oils contain 960 micrograms of vitamin A per 10 gm (the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A per adult is 600 micrograms). So, it's possible that oil gargling helps in reaching the required retinal to the eyeballs and keeps them elastic and smooth. Likewise, the Ayurvedic `purification of taste-buds' also has its equivalent in dietetics as `antioxidants'. Oxidation literally means `the putrefaction of body-tissues'. And oil-soluble vitamins, A, C, D, and E are antioxidants that protect and prevent the decaying process and help maintain the integral functioning of cell membranes.  There are lots of infos about oil pulling in the internet, I tried it myself, what I could say is that you don't even need to brush your teeth, oil pulling can clean your mouth through and through. Then, I also felt light and energized.  Please try it yourself, every person has his/her own genetic predisposition so each person would benefit differently from it. I only warn you what the good Doctor have said don't swallow even a bit, it contains a lot of bacteria.  Bernard  --- On Wed, 8/13/08, smit <smit197 wrote: smit <smit197 Re: Re: oil pulling Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 11:38 AM I have terrible gums problems... i would like to know if someone has tried oil pulling and it has really improved gums? and repair bone loss? --- On Tue, 8/12/08, Bernard dela Cruz <berset30t > wrote: Bernard dela Cruz <berset30t > Re: Re: oil pulling Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 10:58 PM Oil pulling From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Oil pulling or oil swishing, in alternative medicine, is a traditional Indian folk remedy that involves swishing oil in the mouth for claimed oral and systemic health benefits. Guest guest Report post Posted November 12, 2008 has anyone in here ever done oil pulling? i have looked it up and it sounds interesting. id like to cure my allergies and asthma permanently. but someone told me to start oil pulling cuz my right ear keeps clogging and unclogging and i have been using garlic oil in my ear. it seems to be getting the wax out but the right ear still keeps clogging and unclogging everyday. i was also told dairy is a problem thats why i keep having this chronic problem. if dairy was the prob, my doctors would of told me a long time ago to stop eating dairy for clogged ears. so does dairy have anything to do with this? how will oil pulling help with a clogged ear?
