Oil Pulling

Does anyone know about this therapy? I have been doing this for 6 months with

amazing

results. It sounds very wacky, but it's easy and cheap with no special

products to buy.

The testimonials on the internet about it are amazing from people doing it

right now.

It is an old Russian Folk Remedy, as well as something practiced in the

Ayurveda tradition.

The first time I read it was in the Andreas Moritz book " The Amazing Liver and

Gall

Bladder Flush " . Something just resonated with me. So I decided to give it a

try, and now

I'm finding there are tons of people all over the world practicing this.

Check it out, and let me know if you have any questions.

http://oilpulling.com/

It is basically swishing Sesame Oil or Sunflower Oil around your mouth for

15-20 minutes

on an empty stomach. It pulls toxins from your blood and bacteria from your

mouth. At

the end of the swishing (pulling) you spit it out, and rinse with warm sea

salt water. The

reason you do this for 20 minutes is that all the blood in your body filters

through the big

vein under you tongue every 20 minutes.

It stimulates your liver to produce bile. It increases metabolism.

One of the side effects is much white teeth, fresher breath, and healthy

looking gums.

Heck, if that's all I got, then great!!

The testimonials I have read are from people with awesome dentists visits, and

lessing of

deep pockets in gums, allowing them to avoid gum surgery.

I have now read about people who say it has cured their dandruff, lessened

psoriasis,

healed cracked heels, lessened asthma and drained sinuses. I can attest to the

sinus

condition being better. My husband and I used to be very congested all the

time, and this

has definitely helped a lot. Also, in the 6 months I've done this I have not

been sick once.

Can you tell I like it? You might think I'm crazy, but it's so benign, you

should give it a

try!!

Annie,

Does someone on this list speak German? I wonder if they would

translate that piece on the site that is written ONLY in German...

please someone!

I ask because I know that Germans use herbs and alternative meds...

so there may be additional info that isn't on the site that's already

been translated.

Thanks!

I would like to know if they mean all at once, or as you said ...

break it up into 5 minute sections. I thought they would break it

down if that's what they meant, so I took it as one time pulling, 3 x's a day.

I love the idea of this, and am going to try it.

If all it does is give me whiter teeth I'm happy!

But do you have to do it every day???

For how long?

Certainly you can. Actually Andreas Moritz says that either sesame seed or

olive are good

oils. But it you go to that Oil Pulling site, Dr. Karach says to use either

Sesame or

Sunflower. Sesame is a bit strong in flavor, and sunflower is very light.

Olive would be

fairly strong in flavor to I'd suspect. I prefer the sunflower (expeller

pressed, not refined

cooking).

I first heard about this in a German book and it also recommended

sunflower oil. I've tried it a few times but found it kind

of " yukky " but it's cheap and effective so if you can stomach it,

it's sure worth adding into your wellness routine.

Yes, it takes a bit getting used to, but if you continue, I think that you get

used to it very

quickly. Now I am totally hooked on it and can't imagine starting my day

without it. It's

almost zen-like. Adding the oregano oil and tea tree oil definitely adds a bit

of zest to the

whole process, and it's good for your dental health also!

One more thing, could you PLEASE tell me about that book you read? Was the

whole book

about oil pulling, or just a portion. What did they say the benefits were? I'd

be so grateful

to you if you could give me an idea about this. There is so little written in

english about

this therapy!

Thanks, Annie

I do it every morning for 15-20 minutes..but as time has gone on, sometimes I

realize I've

gone for 30 minutes.

In some of the Ayurveda writings, some have said that pulling for longer than 5

minutes

allows toxins to be reabsorbed back into your system. So in effect, you would

pull in 5

minute increments up to 20 minutes.

Dr. Karach, the Ukranian who studied this says to pull for 20 minutes to get

full effect.

In India, where this is currently being practiced, they say to do for 15-20

minutes.

I think the amount of time is for each to decide. Notice however how the oil

becomes very

thick after a few minutes of pulling. Sometimes it stays really thick,

sometimes it does not

thicken at all, but stays thin. I really believe that this is the level of

toxins it is pulling

from your system. I notice that when I have eaten dairy the day before, it gets

very thick

throughout the whole pull...interesting!!

The 20 minutes should be all at once or a total of 20 minutes in 4 segments of 5

minutes.

No, you do not need to rinse each time. You are going to go through a lot of

oil!! I do this

first thing in the morning, but you could do it as many times during the day as

you like.

Just make sure you haven't eaten for at least 4 hours prior.

A WARNING....if you do this late at night, you may have insomnia. The Oil

Pulling

increases your metabolism (per cleaning your blood). Some do have problems

sleeping...some do not. That's why doing it first thing in the morning is a

great way to

start the day. Some do it in the shower. Just be careful when you are leaning

your head

back to rinse your shampoo LOL!!

You can definitely alternate oil...anything you like. Some just prefer one over

the other.

Some say that sesame gives them superior pulls, some say that sunflower

does.....it's a

very personal experience for all.

I'd love to hear from those you are giving this a try. Let me know how it is

going.

Peace, Annie

Now that is something I've gotta try! And soon! Thank you for

posting it. Since I'm already an energy healer with nutritional and

herbal knowledge, I'm amazed I haven't read or heard about this till

now. Question: Is it necessary to " swish " 3 times a day, every day

for 6 months or longer? Or are effective results noticed sooner or

with less " pulling " (maybe once per day for a week, or a month, etc.)?

This is actually my first time getting around to reading messages

here, and I'm surprised I read something potentially helpful right

away. Thank you so much.

Annie,

I am quite fascinated with this, but whenever

I actually consider doing it first thing in the

morning my stomach just about turns over at

the thought of a spoonful of oil in my mouth.

It pysically makes me gag.

Guess I'll have to tap that away. That thought

just popped into my mind.

I'll wait till my grandson (8) has gone back home.

I forgot what it was like to have that scattered

kid-energy around!

I have been oil pulling for the past three days after reading about it here.

I have been using Canola Oil because it's what I have on hand at the moment.

Already I can tell that my teeth are a little whiter. So, it must be

working. Thank you to the person who wrote about this. This is such a

simple thing to do to improve your health.

Hi there,

I read the article and have been trying it for the last week..Well not for 20

minutes as having to squish the oil for that length of time appears a bit

ridiculous to me. Did try to read around it so googled it one day..the reports

are great. however they do say that the ideal time to use it is between 6.am and

7.30 am..they do give a valid enough reason for that..anyways I am waiting for

whiter teeth..probably am spending a bit more time looking at the mirror

checking my teeth..it s so funny,,hope it works

No, you do not need to rinse each time. You are going to go through a lot of

oil!! I do this

first thing in the morning, but you could do it as many times during the day as

you like.

Just make sure you haven't eaten for at least 4 hours prior.

A WARNING....if you do this late at night, you may have insomnia. The Oil

Pulling

increases your metabolism (per cleaning your blood). Some do have problems

sleeping...some do not. That's why doing it first thing in the morning is a

great way to

start the day. Some do it in the shower. Just be careful when you are leaning

your head

back to rinse your shampoo LOL!!

You can definitely alternate oil...anything you like. Some just prefer one over

the other.

Some say that sesame gives them superior pulls, some say that sunflower

does.....it's a

very personal experience for all.

I'd love to hear from those you are giving this a try. Let me know how it is

going.

Peace, Annie

Does anyone here know if Oil Pulling absolutely must be done with

cold-pressed oil? I bought some Sunflower oil from a local

supermarket today that I'm sure isn't cold-pressed, as it doesn't say

it on the label, but I will call them tomorrow to make sure. If I

don't use cold-pressed oil, will it still work, or just as well?

All the best,

Richard

Bobby...I know, I kept looking in the mirror a bunch too! LOL. And now I don't

think they

can get much whiter...I just seem to be maintaining.

The reason you do this for 20 minutes is because of the blood detox. The oil

pulls toxins

from the blood via the large vein under your tongue. All your blood in your

system runs

through that vein in 20 minutes. So...that's the idea.

You can do this anytime....but for me, it's easier in the morning because I have

a totally

empty stomach. Also, it does seem to wake me up (increase my metabolism?).

Anyway....it's a wacky thing, and I can't tell anyone except on line because I

can't stand the

look on their faces...then the smirk, then the rolling of the eyes.....I gave

up.

Swish on....Annie

You mean tap away with EFT?? That would work quite well.

You get used to it, believe me. You might feel gaggy for a couple of days, and

then start

getting into it until you won't stop, even on vacation. Keep it out of the back

of your

throat until you get used to it.

Imagine me, fixing a bottle of oil (with oil of oregano) for my husband to take

on his

business trip. Now, this was the most cynical man on the face of the

earth....and once he

saw my improvements, I had him doing liver flushes, kidney cleanses, bowel

cleanse,

parasite cleanse, oil swishing. Tonight I got some Himalayan Salt to start

adding to our

water, and he doesn't even question me anymore. If my husband can do all this

stuff,

anyone can.

In 7 months he has gone from 3 Prozac and 2 Seratonin to one Prozac only. I'm

so proud

of him for doing all this, and he's proud of himself for accomplishing this

amazing feat.

He told me.....never take my oil away from me. LOL!!

Ok my boyfriend and I are trying this. I can't stomach 20 mins yet, but he's

doing fine. I love hearing all the good things comeing from it. He suffers from

depression maybe it will help! We are on day 3 and it was a little easier for

me to put the oil in, although I don't measure it, I just pour some in. My

question is the sunflower oil I got has safflower oil in it too. Where is a

good place to buy oils? I did notice after the second day the plack build up on

my teeth came off real easily when I flossed.

Annie,

I have been drinking the sole with the himalayian salts now for about two or

three months. I don't see any difference in anything, but I do actually enjoy

the sole in the morning.

I was drinking a lot of Figi water, and then the light came on that I can't

afford to drink Figi water, so I reserve it only for drinking my sole.

Let me know if you see any differences.

I prefer expeller pressed sunflower, but you can use any oil really. Dr. Karach

mentions

refined sunflower or sesame to get the best results.

If you want expeller pressed sunflower you'll need to visit a health food store.

Swish on....you'll see better and better results with your teeth as time goes

on.

Lorain:

I know one thing about that salt....it's makes me go, and fairly quickly too!

I think it's

amazing if you are constipated. And the amount of minerals you are putting in

your body

is worth it, totally.

LOL Ann! Swish on... is a good motto for this OIL group! I started

last Sunday and also started a candida diet at the same

time. WOW... I have seen amazing results so far. I'm wondering

about this though: I'm Swishing 3 times a day with cold pressed,

high quality sunflower oil from France.

For the last 3 days I've tested the oil by spitting it out on the

cotton ball to check the color. After 20 minutes (I've been very

careful to make sure it's 20) the cotton ball this a.m. is still

yellow. Either I need different oil or I am super-toxic. The later

is likely. That's why I'm doing this so seriously.

The first thing I noticed on the 2nd/3rd day is that the skin itching

has subsided. I have had a gross skin problem with this sores

popping up all over my body. One doctor said, " It's candida. " He

gave me pills that didn't work. The next doctor gave me antibiotics,

which I didn't want to take, but did. Went away for a few months

(6-8) and then came back recently. This time it was worse and I had

a vaginal discharge and itching (which I didn't have before)... now

the itching is real bad when it didn't exist before the

antibiotics. So I knew not to take them, but I had to make it stop

because sometimes I could hardly wear clothes.

So the first thing I noticed is that the itching stopped almost 100%

most of the time. Today it seems to be gone. That is amazing. I'm

did veggies ONLY for 3 days. I added wild salmon on the 4th day...

and chicken on the 5th. I am also doing biogenics, and one of my

homeopathic treatments is for skin, but I was taking that for about

15 days and still had the itching. The itching was critical to

resolve because when I scratched it then a sore would come.

My teeth have changed color - about 2 shades whiter in 6

days! Bye-bye dentists. We don't need you anymore when our teeth

are swished daily!

I know it the skin thing came from the oil pulling.

So do it guys. I'd appreciate any feedback on my question!

Love and health to all!

Vicki
