I agree on all counts. The bias in studies such as these is a great

disservice to the general public. It is too bad that the China study

got such poor media coverage, it was superior in every detail.

Hi Diana and Everyone, I have joined your group recently, and I thank you for having me. My name is Ginger. I have seen the lists protocol set to certain subjects each day. However, my beady little brain has a hard time recalling the subjects for each day. Would it be alright to post subjects out of sync with the daily subject headings? Looking forward to sharing. Hi Phil

I wander what you know about this guy, he has been trashing Miriam Lee and her

students.

Acupuncturist jailed for three

years for filming his patients

by Tomas Mac Ruairi

A TAIWANESE acupuncturist who secretly filmed partially-clothed female patients

has been jailed for three years by Judge Kieran O'Connor at Dublin Circuit

Criminal Court.

Palden Carson, with a former address at Walker's Cottages, Ranelagh, Dublin and

later at 29 Mauratina Buildings, 4 Jardine Road, London E19 WB, England, pleaded

guilty to sexually assaulting two patients at his Ranelagh clinic on dates in

1996.

Judge O'Connor directed that £15,000 compensation offered by Carson to his

victims should be divided equally between them. The cheques were handed over in

court by defence solicitor Robert Eager.

Defence counsel, Patrick Gageby SC, told Judge O'Connor the £15,000 offered the

victims was not meant as compensation, but, was an earnest sign of Carson's

remorse. It didn't affect their right to bring civil claims. The court heard at

least one of the victims was instituting civil litigation.

Judge O'Connor also revoked an earlier order prohibiting publication of the

47-year-old single man's name and address. The victims are in their early

twenties and their identities cannot be revealed without their authority.

Prosecuting counsel, Tom O'Connell BL, said the only grounds on which the court

had the power to prevent the media naming Carson was if by doing so any of the

victims could be identified. Carson had more than 1,200 patients so that didn't

arise.

Judge O'Connor directed that Carson's sentence was to date from February 7 last,

when he was taken into custody on an extradition order and was to be suspended

from December 14 next, when he is to leave Ireland. If he didn't leave Ireland

voluntarily he would serve the full sentence.

Mr Gageby (with Michael O'Higgins BL) said Carson was a naturalised Irish

citizen, but, would leave the country as soon as possible.

Judge O'Connor told Carson: " We don't want your type in this country. You were

welcomed here and became a citizen, but, you behaved despicably and abused the

trust placed in you " .

Throughout the sentence hearing, Carson's brother sat behind defence counsel

dressed in the ceremonial robes of an Oxford graduate of philosophy and with

variously his left and right white-gloved hand raised.

Mr Gageby told Judge O'Connor that his client's brother wanted to address the

court, but, as defence counsel he had decided he wasn't going to call him again,

because, he didn't consider he had anything useful to add to what he said at a

previous hearing.

Judge O'Connor told Carson it was fortunate for him that he pleaded guilty, or

he would have imposed the maximum five years sentence permitted by law for this

offence. He accepted Carson was a good acupuncturist, but, he had brought the

work into disrepute by his despicable abuse of trust.

" I am surprised you have no previous convictions, because, it appears to me you

have some form of repressed sexual desires which you fulfilled in the way

described in this case " , said Judge O'Connor.

At an earlier hearing in June, the defendant's brother - a qualified medical

specialist - said he wanted to apologise on behalf of the family to the victims.

His brother had brought disgrace on himself and the family.

He said the family originated in East Tibet, but, moved many years ago to

Taiwan, where they were reared. Their father was now elderly and quite ill in

Canada, but, was formerly a US Airforce B52 bomber pilot in World War II.

The court heard Carson qualified as a doctor in Taiwan, but, failed 11 times in

surgery examinations in Ireland. He came here in 1984 and achieved a high

reputation as an acupuncturist, with a client list of some 1,240.

Detective Sergeant George McGeary said Carson made video recordings of naked

female patients and could be seen on some of the tapes masturbating himself. A

total of 12 different females were recorded on two video-tapes handed to one

victim's family by Carson. Some of the women identified on videos declined to

assist in the garda investigation.

The women were unaware they had been video-recorded by Carson, who had them wear

vibrating goggles with opaque glass, claiming this would relax them for the

needles used in acupuncture.

Det Sgt McGeary said the case might not have come to light but for the fact that

one of the two victims observed a camcorder in Carson's hand through a gap in

the goggles. Carson had first explained different matters about the body and

acupuncture to this woman. He told her to undress and put her lying on her

stomach, telling her massage was part of the treatment. He first massaged her

back with oil and then pulled down her panties and massaged her buttocks. He

then turned her over, put the goggles on her and proceeded to massage her

breasts, groin area and her inner thighs.

After he inserted the acupuncture needles all over her body, his doorbell rang

and it was when he returned that she saw the camcorder in one of his hands and

an incense type of stick used to heat needles in the other. He drew the stick'

up and down her body from her breasts to her groin area.

Det Sgt McGeary said the woman was extremely distressed and was " in a most awful

state when she reached her mother. " She lodged a complaint with the gardaí some

hours later. Two days later, Carson was interviewed by the now-retired Det Sgt

Brendan McGlynn.

Carson went immediately to that victim's family begging forgiveness and asking

them to withdraw the complaint. He also handed over two video-tapes, though the

victim couldn't identify herself on either of them.

While in the woman's house, Carson became hysterical and banged his head several

times off a door as well as slapping his head forcibly with his hands while

repeating: " I am a very bad man " . He attempted to destroy one video tape, but,

it was rescued by a family member.

Det Sgt McGeary said the family became very concerned for the defendant's

safety.

The second victim identified herself on a video on three occasions and was so

distressed she couldn't look at more than a few minutes of the recordings.

Some time after the garda investigation began, the defendant sold Ranelagh house

in which he also practised and moved to London. He also went to Canada on a

number of occasions.

Det Sgt McGeary said he traced a mobile telephone number for Carson, who was at

a London address, and spoke with him. He advised Carson to get a solicitor in

Dublin and to contact the gardaí to make arrangements about coming back to meet

the case.

Carson didn't contact the gardaí again, but, Det Sgt McGeary traced him a second

time at a new address and he was extradited back to Dublin unopposed on February

7 last. He had been in custody since.

Det Sgt McGeary agreed with Mr Gageby the defendant was remorseful for his

actions and had begged forgiveness. He had urged the victims to withdraw their

complaints.

Carson had co-operated with gardaí from the beginning of the investigation and

made admissions of his guilt. He repeatedly told gardaí: " I think it is a sin

what I have done and I should be punished " .

Det Sgt McGeary said the defendant also handed over video-recordings to the

gardaí. He said he made them for his own gratification and not for sale. When

being extradited, he revealed his original solicitor had advised him not to

maintain contact with the gardaí.

One of the victims told the court it was her hairband which left the goggles

loose on her head and enabled her to see the camcorder in his hand.

She said she was " lying there terrified with needles all over my body and not

knowing what to do " . When she got out she went straight to her mother but was so

upset she couldn't speak at first about her experience. The second victim said

if she is asked now by medical people to undress she queries it fully to make

sure it is necessary. Both victims revealed in evidence their experiences had

caused them deep depression and resulted in psychiatric treatment. Neither had

come to terms with it and both feared doctors and having to have medical

treatment.

Hi Phil

I wander what you know (or any of the Irish on the list) about this guy, he has

A TAIWANESE acupuncturist who secretly filmed partially-clothed female patients

one of the two victims observed a camcorder in Carson's hand through a gap in

the goggles.

Neither had

come to terms with it and both feared doctors and having to have medical

treatment.

WM is really starting to look at multi system relationships

Hormonal and reproductive factors are associated with chronic low back pain and

chronic upper extremity pain in women--the MORGEN study. Spine. 2006 Jun

1;31(13):1496-502. STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional study of 11,428 women aged

20-59 years who were included in a postal questionnaire survey in the Dutch

general population. OBJECTIVE: To examine how hormonal and reproductive factors

are associated with chronic low back pain (LBP) and chronic upper extremity pain

(UEP) in women. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Although LBP is suggested to be

linked to hormonal and reproductive factors in women, results from previous

studies are inconclusive. In addition, the association with chronic UEP is

unknown. METHODS: Multivariate logistic regression models were used to examine

associations between hormonal and reproductive factors (independent variables)

and, respectively, chronic LBP, chronic UEP and combined chronic LBP/UEP.

Associations were adjusted for age, level of education, working status, smoking,

and overweight. RESULTS: Past pregnancy, young maternal age at first birth,

duration of oral contraceptive use, and use of estrogens during menopause were

associated with chronic LBP, while young age at menarche was associated with

chronic UEP. Irregular or prolonged menstruation and hysterectomy were

associated both with chronic LBP and chronic UEP. No positive associations were

found for current pregnancy and number of children. CONCLUSIONS: In adult women,

hormonal and reproductive factors are associated with chronic musculoskeletal

pain in general. Factors related to increased estrogen levels may specifically

increase the risk of chronic LBP.

My impression of the video was that it was an attempt to use a hot chick and sex

to sell a song.

However, what I do, is I REFUSE to allow people in to my life who are " men

bashers " or " women bashers " .

Sure, I laugh my ass off at the occassional mother in law joke or marriage joke.

But I'm talking about the people who are constantly bashing men or bashing

women.

I don't care how good looking a woman is, I will NOT tolerate bad behavior from

her nor listen to her gripe about men.

Fact is, people attract who they attract. And if she's the type who attracts

garbage in to her life, then I say " Yippee Kay-Aye ************ " .

Now the generation gap is something interesting. I'm going to tie the two of

these together in a moment, so, ladies, just bare with me here for a moment, and

you'll be glad you did. (Sorry, I couldn't resist...)

Ahem...

Anyways.... To get to my point...

Strong families don't tend to have as much trouble with a generational gap.

Sure, younger people have different interests and concerns than older people.

And we've all been through those teenage years where we're pretty sure mom and

dad don't understand us.

But those things can be reduced, maybe even eliminated, with good energy skills,

good communication skills, and good rapport skills.

Doc goes over this in a couple of his products, and I'm going to mention them

because 1) they're damn good products and you'll get MUCH MORE from them than

just what I'm covering right now, and 2) they are perfect examples of how to

" bridge-the-gap " between generations and between the opposite sex you might not

completely (or even partially) understand.

And Doc goes over this with Meta Programs in the Speed Reading And Controlling

The Opposition, which is on Driver Meta Programs.

One of the examples he gives (this is from when Jack was much younger) is how he

hates to play miniature golf, but Jack likes it, so Doc goes there and finds

something IMPORTANT for him, which is spending time with Jack, and has fun, even

though he could give a you-know-what about miniature golf.

Imagine how much better and stronger family relationships would be if people

were taught META PROGRAMS instead of much of the " junk advice " that is popular

on TV these days...

Another example Doc gives is if his wife wants to go see someone or have company

or go to a party, which does NOT fit Doc's Meta Program of GET STUFF DONE, and

only do things that are productive for where you want to go, so when Doc goes to

those social settings, he sets up drills ahead of time that he can have fun with

while he's there...

Or if it's a " chick flick " that he could give a damn about seeing, but his wife

really wants to go, since he likes and appreciates his wife, he goes to the

movie so they can have fun together, and he picks apart the STRATEGIES and the

Meta Programs and the " Emotional Drivers " going on in the movie.

Also, in Lost & Forgotten Secrets Of Hypnosis To Get What You Want From Yourself

& From Others, Doc talks about how he went to a flea market, something that is

FUN for him...

And while he was there, he saw some things that he has no interest in

whatsoever, BUT HE KNOWS HIS WIFE LIKES THEM, so he practices his skills (which

is IMPORTANT FOR HIM) to get something nice for his wife, so he can also let her

know that he thinks about her while he's doing other things, and that he likes

and appreciates her.

I'm sure you've ALSO had the experience of being somewhere, doing what you

enjoy, and something you see or hear or sense triggers a thought of someone else

you like. Well, Doc shows you how to use that as an opportunity to hone your

skills AND build those relationships that are meaningful to you at the same

time.

I wish I had those skills a long time ago, although I'm SURE glad I've had the

opportunity for learning them now.

They do take some practice. I'm still learning, I'm still having fun with them.

Worth every cent, worth every moment of practice, and you can use it in ANY area

of your life to bring healing to your relationships or to CREATE the kinds of

relationships you desire instead of having to worry about the " generational gap "

or the " sexist bitches " out there.

Anyway, go get the products--Doc's website is www.mentaltrainingsecrets.com ,

and have lots of fun!

Sincerely,

Jim

Yes Norma - it wouldn't make any difference, it supplies more oxygen to the problem area enabling the body to disperse and settle the inflammation and reduce the pain

Hi All for anyone asking about tick flea mosquito etc repellent this is used in the Holiday Inn in the States for bed bugs and other various repellents to natures nasty little critters. It is quite expensive and I don't know much about it but there has been a lot of discussion as to what is safe. This product is made from 100% natural products so if you are interested in learning about it. go to the website. Edith

Hi Tony and and all,

I want my husband to do the liver gallbladder cleanse and I know that

apple juice is the start. In the book Liver and Gallbladder Miracle

Cleanse he talks about people with cancer drinking apple cider vinegar

instead. Is that necessary? I assume that the apple juice would be a

large blast of sugar and since there's so much about cancer growing on

sugar it seems as if apple juice should be avoided???? What about

other fruit? The Budwig Diet has fruit on the Cottage Cheese - Flax

Oil Mixture. I'd really like to have some clarity on the do's and

don'ts of fruit eating if you have cancer. Anybody want to weigh in

on the subject?

By the way we are having a beautiful Fall Day here in the mountains of

South Carolina!

Some food for thought. I 100% believe this.May we all thinkSome interesting information from a book...Ramtha The white Book............The whole of your brain capacity is immense, yet you inyour limited thinking have been able to use only one-third of it.What do you think the rest of it is for, to fill up an empty hole?Your body is maintained according to your brain and yourcollective thinking, for every thought you allow to enter your brain electrifies and feeds every cell of your body. Yet from the time you were a child and could reason in social consciousness, you accepted the programming that you must grow up, become old, and then die. So because you accepted that thought, you began to degradethe life force within your body, because the thought of olderness sends a slow or low frequency, electrical spark to each cellular structure. The slower the rate of speed, the greater the loss of agility within the body, for the body is lessened in its ability to rejuvenate and restore itself. Thus age is permitted to occur and ultimately the death of the body. Yet if you allowed yourself to continuously receive higher thought frequencies, you would send faster and more high-powered electrical currents throughout your body and it would stay forever in the moment, thus never advancing in age or dying. But everyone here knows it will age and die, so slowly the current becomes less and less and less. Those portions of your brain that have not been activatedat the present have the ability - simply through knowing - to reconstruct any damaged part within your body, wherever it is.The moment you know your body can heal itself, that thought sends a greater spark through the central nervous system to where the damaged part is, which will cause the DNA factor within each cell to clone and reconstruct the cell perfectly. Perfectly. You think that is miraculous? That is the way it should be and is.You think that the only way your body can be healed isthrough physicians and medicines. And they work, for you believe that they do. You have also been told and believe that you cannot do it on your own; thus you cannot, for that knowingness is present. Yet there are entities who have sought out healers, knowing that what they would hear would be an absolute truth. And by knowing it, it became an absolute truth within theembodiment; thus they were healed in a moment. That is what knowingness does, and it can change your body to however you want it to be. You have the capacity to be unlimited even in your bodily movement, for it was designed to be that way.
