Isn't the second cycle of sadesati supposed to be different from the first cycle? As for Sanjay's statement, I dont understand it. Some clarification required here.

Coming to Lakshmi's comments, *big grin*, yes your theory is under testing! I wonder how Mars aspects the 8th house in my chart...also dont know how you linked to career matters...could be a bias given you know that much about me already!

But 8th house point is right; isnt the Vimsottari dasa of AK supposed to be a trying one for that reason?

Namaste Utpal Bhai,

Dear Hari is vrischika lagna alright, but his rashi is dhanus

(Poorvashadha nakshatra, like me). So, I was focussing more on his

ashtama shani from moon. According to my current theory under

testing, I feel he had less trouble during ashtama shani, because

Mars aspects only 9th house from lagna and not the 8th house.

I am quite capable of being confused/forgetful also... gadbad tho

mere saath hamesha hotha hai:--))btw, which one is correct? is it

gadbad hothi...or gadbad hotha..?

I really wish that all could see Arunachala Shiva.

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Hari,

Doesn't Mars aspect your 8th house from Moon by graha drishti? Mars

is in Capricorn, and Cancer is 7th from it, so doesn't Mars aspect

cancer with 7th aspect?

Now, I am totally confused!! So, please do correct me:--))

Dear Hari,

Namaste

I have noticed that every time Saturn goes retrograde and within 1 degree of my natal Saturn, there’s always a benefit of sorts.

Looking at my Saturn return in contra to it with the current cycle, this return is better than the last in the sense that I personally feel (Moon and the emote through Saturn) that Ihas seen better personal achievements with my Guru.

The good period is possibly due to the fact that Moon is in the 3rd house and Saturn is transitting in the 3rd. According to Vishnu Dharmottara, Moon in the 3rd is a good placment and we know that Saturn bodes well in this house. The haggling will have to be sorted out between Rahu who is now traversing my 10th conjoining my lagna lord.

Does this mean a psuedo sade sati here too?

Anyway, praphrasing Gheranda samhita, the following is suggested in restraining the mind:

Bringing the thinking principle under control with restriants on objects of sight; speech – good or otherwise and smells -sweet or otherwise; in tastes where the mind is attracted, let one withdraw the mind from all that and bring the chitta under one’s control. (Have you noticed, it does not say music/sweet sounds??)

Back to the first statement – someone here on the list mentioned that we must look at a retrograde planet like it is in the previous sign. Sanjay ji says that should not be considered. Hope this is clear-er

after sending the mail, i realised that you might have used Moon

lagna for hari and that proved right. I take back my " Gadbad " .

The issue of Grammer is there as you pointed out but actually i put

it intentionally becuase in golden days of yore, my wonderful boss

(GV Chalam from Kakinada) used to speak that way. he was also a

great devotee of 'Baba' (he used address Shri Satya Sain Baba). i

some time still immitate him to rekindle our great association

lasted for a couple of years in Rourkela in 95/96. like he is used

to say " Job " in place of " Jeb " (Pocket), " Pooor " instead

of " Puar " , " Beer " for " Bear " , " Fataafataa " in place of " Fatafat "

(quick)

I used to make fun of him (though he was a decade elder to me & the

boss) by Saying " Poor adami Beer pita hai " .

List & moderator pl. forgive me for this non Astrological message

(as our Shri Nemani would say). sometimes it keeps the group in good

health to discuss light heartedly once in a while.

|om|Dear Sanjay, pranaamsI am not really blaming Sani for every sneeze that I have! But it is extremely curious that this skin allergy should start just as Sani was about to exit Kataka rasi. In a similar vein, Lakshmi wrote that her dark skin patches cleared up around the same time.

I am currently running Ma-Ke-Ra (Chandra Vimsottari Dasa)...Rahu aspects Mercury in the 11th house and in current transit, Rahu aspects Mercury in the 12th house of Thula (for Scorpio lagna). Hopefully the problem should clear up when Mercury stops retrograding and transits to Vrischika rasi.

Dear Lakshmi,

Please see the attached chart.

In 1952, When Saturn is in Lagna, as well as 8th from the Moon, he was passing Mercury Mahadasa and Saturn Antar dasa. He became the prime minister of Sri Lanka. His father was the first prime minister of Sri Lanka.

Strong Mercury gave him the Rajayoga, but has Papa (or kroora) Argala from 12th lord Sun (Father). In the natal chart, Saturn and Rahu obstruct argala of Sun, and promised to activate the Raja yoga when the time comes. As soon as Saturn antar dasa came, his father died and he became the PM.

See the Navamsa. Jupiter is in Capricorn, trine to Virgo. So Tr Saturn damage father's life as Jupiter is the lord of the 8th from 9th house of Rasi. This proves, all negative effects come from the bhavas related to planets in trine or 7th from the Sign of Tr Saturn in Navamsa.

Did you find in your Navamsa chart any planets in Trine or 7th to Cancer ?

Perhaps there can be many reasons, but I use this simple rule from Devakaralam.

The dasamsa Moon is in Scorpio and so when Saturn transited Virgo, it was in the 11th house (best transit) from the D10 Moon. Hence he became the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. But it was also transiting the lagna and 8th house from the Moon indicating that the health would have suffered and there would be a lot of strain due to work.

Please see the attached chart.

In 1952, When Saturn is in Lagna, as well as 8th from the Moon, he was passing Mercury Mahadasa and Saturn Antar dasa. He became the prime minister of Sri Lanka. His father was the first prime minister of Sri Lanka.

Strong Mercury gave him the Rajayoga, but has Papa (or kroora) Argala from 12th lord Sun (Father). In the natal chart, Saturn and Rahu obstruct argala of Sun, and promised to activate the Raja yoga when the time comes. As soon as Saturn antar dasa came, his father died and he became the PM.

See the Navamsa. Jupiter is in Capricorn, trine to Virgo. So Tr Saturn damage father's life as Jupiter is the lord of the 8th from 9th house of Rasi. This proves, all negative effects come from the bhavas related to planets in trine or 7th from the Sign of Tr Saturn in Navamsa.

Did you find in your Navamsa chart any planets in Trine or 7th to Cancer ?

Perhaps there can be many reasons, but I use this simple rule from Devakaralam.

I do agree that a strong Jupiter in lagna gives me a lot of immunity. I was also wondering if Saturn's association with the 8th house/lord in the natal chart has something to do with this, because Partha had also not experienced any malefic results of ashtama shani and he has Saturn in 8th house (cancer) in his natal chart. In a similar vein, Lakshmi wrote that her dark skin patches cleared up around the same time. I am currently running Ma-Ke-Ra (Chandra Vimsottari Dasa)...Rahu aspects Mercury in the 11th house and in current transit, Rahu aspects Mercury in the 12th house of Thula (for Scorpio lagna). Dear Guruji,

Yes. He left the office after the general strike. Then 1960 he came again for 5 months, and again 1965-1970.

The first Prime Minister Rt. Hon. D.S. Senanayake died in March 1952, and Mr. Dudley Senanayake, then Minister of Agriculture and Lands, was appointed Prime Minister by the Governor General, Lord Soulbury, Parliament was subsequently dissolved and a general election was held in May 1952. The election was won by the UNP led by Mr. Dudley Senanayake. Among other things, increased welfare benefits, in particular the rice subsidy, contributed to the resounding victory.

Within a year, after the Korean boom ended, the Government found that the burden of the subsidy on the Budget was excessive and decided to curtail the subsidy expenditures sharply. The price of rice was increased. Other subsidies including free meals for school children were cut.

The Political protest to this move was explosive. A general strike, known as "Hartal", launched by very strong trade unions affiliated to the left-wing parties was so effective that the Prime Minister was compelled to resign from office. The price of rice was immediately reduced and the ration enlarged. This event is a landmark in the political economy of the post-independence era, that underlined the importance of the subsidy issue in government.

Mr. Dudley Senanayake's government also gave high priority to the development of irrigation systems and the food crop sector.

Thanks for the input from Devakeralam. I appreciate the point you've

made. In navamsa, I do not have any planets in trines or in 7th to Tr

Saturn in cancer. Only Navamsa ascendant is in trines to Tr saturn,

so does that make any difference?

But in Partha's case, there are planets in trines & 7th from Tr

Saturn, but he said that he did not feel the adverse impct of ashtama

shani.

I think one needs to analyse the transit effect from all the

perspectives of murthi, operating dasa, natal & navamsa placements

and perhaps consider what result is predominantly thrown up by these

examinations.

Sasank (my younger son) sends his loving regards to his favourite

Karu uncle, and he's so happy that Australia won the Champions

trophy.

Dear Lakshmi,

I finished a real bad time when Saturn transit in Gemini, in my Lagna. I have Rahu, Moon, Guru, Venus in trine to Gemini in navamsa and I suffered a lot. Gemini is A5 and I forget all Manthra and cleared the path for Yama Raj. When the Saturn in exact degrees of Lagna, I lost all control over Dhi.

But, due to blessings of Guru, I consider this was one of the best time in my life. It removed fear of death, and gave me many in retun. If I not face such terible time, I still consider God as enemies, and still my heart beat is depending on out siders.

So Lakshmi, Why we are waiting for only adverse effects when Saturn transit over 8th or any bad places ? For spiritual progress, this is a disguise blessing.

Partha has Sun and Moon in trine. Can you remember Partha dissapointed and left us ? How do you explain this ? Is this has some thing to do with Mana and self ? Again this is only a one angle of looking. We may learn in more in future. Yes, Murthi also has lot to do.

Transit of Saturn should be more than a couple of months in the navamsa, so why was there loss of bhakti as indicated by the 5th house? We should also look at the natural 5th sign which is Leo and aspects of your 5th house or on Leo from drushti of Guru.

I also have the Sun and Moon in trines in lagna – and I personally do not agree that Partha has left us, else he would not be sending occasional updates on his website. In fact, he’s found a new job with the hopes of better conditions....surely, a new and positive beginning.

Thanks for the input from Devakeralam. I appreciate the point you've

made. In navamsa, I do not have any planets in trines or in 7th to Tr

Saturn in cancer. Only Navamsa ascendant is in trines to Tr saturn,

so does that make any difference?

But in Partha's case, there are planets in trines & 7th from Tr

Saturn, but he said that he did not feel the adverse impct of ashtama

shani.

I think one needs to analyse the transit effect from all the

perspectives of murthi, operating dasa, natal & navamsa placements

and perhaps consider what result is predominantly thrown up by these

examinations.

Sasank (my younger son) sends his loving regards to his favourite

Karu uncle, and he's so happy that Australia won the Champions

trophy.

Dear Swee,

Never loose Bhakti, but Gemini is Mantra pada. When Saturn passing through the Mantra Pada, one can forget / ignore Mantra. I mean, mind is not protected and any evil can easily entered to Mana. Guru is doing opposite.

The other point, I feel Saturn not harm himself. Saturn make nessosory arrangements, such as weaken the mind, and gives the opportunity to suffer, related any inherited weakness. You will apriciate my point if you read page 73 of COVA. To find out, from where these problems comes, one tool is planets in trine to Tr Saturn in Navamsa. It is clearly mentioned in Devakeralam.

Dear Karu,

Namaste.

It was very interesting to read about your experiences during Saturn

transit. I also agree that Saturn is one planet who teaches us hard

lessons and he's always kind to those who are willing to learn.

Regarding Partha, he's like a child...walking out in a huff when he's

hurt or angry, like we all are at some or other juncture in life. But

I must say that his affection for SJC and Guruji never wavered, and I

very much consider him as one of us.

Thanks for bringing it to my notice because curiously enough this

ashtama shani seems to have favourably impacted on the chara karaka

(twa)s of the planets in trines & aspected by Tr Saturn in

navamsa...he's gained a lovely wife and a better job (moon as DK),

he's soon going to be a proud father (Mercury-PK), he's found

nurturing/protection from an equally lovely mother-like person

(Saturn as MK) and perhaps he's coming into his own or evolving as a

person too(Sun as AK).

It could also have happened because Tr Jupiter was simultaneously

aspecting his natal 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th houses by rasi/graha

drishtis.

Manifestation of dharmic & karmic connections?

I do not know if he's found a Guru too.

OM SHRI RAGHAVENDRAAYA NAMAH OM SHRI LAKSHMI NRUSIMHAAYA NAMAH Dear Lakshmi Ji and other members of this list, It is very interesting to read everybody's experiences during the difficult transits of Shani. Now let me give some inputs of Shani's transit over 8th house from Lagna and Chandra in my life for the 1st time.Shani entered Simha Rashi on 7/9/1977 and entered Kanya Rashi on 27/7/1980.During the beginning of Shani's transit I was working in a Central -State government company and my salary was just revised just befor Shani entered Simha Rashi.In 1978,between April to May, there was a strike in our company,so there was no salary for one month but by May end, the strike ended with success and we got the salary for the strike period and also got promoted to a

higher category from July 1978.During the same period, my engagement was fixed and I got married on 17th of Nov.1978.We both of us went to different places during Jan.1979 including Tirupaty and Mantralaya Shri Raghavendra Swami Ji Brindavan.On Oct.1979, I was blessed with a male child also.Shani left Simha rashi on 27/7/1980.So during this whole trasnit of Shani on 8th house from Lagna and Chandra was a Blessed one for me.During the above said period,Guru in transit was in Mithuna ( 6th house ), 7th house in 1978 and then in 1979 -1980 in Simha Rashi in 8th house.So this clearly indicates Shani's transit in 8th house from Lagna and Chandra Rashi has given beneficial results.For Makara Lagna, Shani is Lagna and 2nd house lord and is a benefic for this Lagna.Another important thing I learnt from this transit is eventhough the transit of Shani over 8th house is bad ,if his sign lord ie., Surya is placed in Meena Rashi in 3rd from both Lagna and Chandra and is in

Pushkaramsha.This Surya's Pushkaramsha has lifted me and blessed with auspicious results during the Shani's transit over Simha Rashi.During the above transit, Guru-Shani, Guru-Budha and Guru-Ketu was running using 360 Savana days per year.Now Shani again came to Simha rashi which is 8th from Lagna and Chandra.I pray God that this transit also proves beneficial to me in all the ways. Dear Ramadas Rao,

My Moon is located in Libra, AL in Sagittarius and Lagna is Kumbha. During the period of Kantaka shani when Saturn was in Cancer I was promoted, got a huge raise and relocated to a new place.

I also made a deal to purchase a house in the first week of Oct this year. Just before shani transited to Leo the owner withdrew from the deal and I couldn't purchase the house. I have difficulties with my present owner about my rent contract (which has expired).

After shani entered Leo my difficulties at work has increased four fold (note that I did not have much problems in Kantaka shani period) and my relationship with my girl friend has finally ended.

Shani in Leo is not an adverse transit for my chart but has seem to have done lot of damage. Is it something to do with delayed results. I mean to say are shani results delayed by 4 to 6 months.

It is very interesting to read everybody's experiences during the difficult transits of Shani.

Now let me give some inputs of Shani's transit over 8th house from Lagna and Chandra in my life for the 1st time.Shani entered Simha Rashi on 7/9/1977 and entered Kanya Rashi on 27/7/1980.During the beginning of Shani's transit I was working in a Central -State government company and my salary was just revised just befor Shani entered Simha Rashi.In 1978,between April to May, there was a strike in our company,so there was no salary for one month but by May end, the strike ended with success and we got the salary for the strike period and also got promoted to a higher category from July 1978.During the same period, my engagement was fixed and I got married on 17th of Nov.1978.We both of us went to different places during Jan.1979 including Tirupaty and Mantralaya Shri Raghavendra Swami Ji Brindavan.On Oct.1979, I was blessed with a male child also.Shani left Simha rashi on 27/7/1980.So during this whole trasnit of Shani on 8th house from Lagna and Chandra was a Blessed one for me.During the above said period,Guru in transit was in Mithuna ( 6th house ), 7th house in 1978 and then in 1979 -1980 in Simha Rashi in 8th house.So this clearly indicates Shani's transit in 8th house from Lagna and Chandra Rashi has given beneficial results.For Makara Lagna, Shani is Lagna and 2nd house lord and is a benefic for this Lagna.Another important thing I learnt from this transit is eventhough the transit of Shani over 8th house is bad ,if his sign lord ie., Surya is placed in Meena Rashi in 3rd from both Lagna and Chandra and is in Pushkaramsha.This Surya's Pushkaramsha has lifted me and blessed with auspicious results during the Shani's transit over Simha Rashi.During the above transit, Guru-Shani, Guru-Budha and Guru-Ketu was running using 360 Savana days per year.Now Shani again came to Simha rashi which is 8th from Lagna and Chandra.I pray God that this transit also proves beneficial to me in all the ways.

I am sharing this experience to all the members of the list for further discussion.

Dear All,

I will be losing my job by month end for the 2nd time in few

months. My birth date is 23-3-1960 3.50 AM Gulbarga. Sravana star

and I am also going through Ashtama shani.I am currently facing

multiple problems at home and in career. Kindly help me also.

Namaste Ramadas Raoji,

Thanks for sharing your ashtama shani experiences with us. Your

Saturn is not only lagna/2nd lord and shubhapati, but is also posited

in the 9th house...indicating your great spirituality and dharmic

nature. For such a person, it's no wonder that ashtama shani turned

out to be beneficial. So, my conjecture about ashtama shani (in

tandem with Tr Jupiter)triggering karmic life-events is not incorrect.

Another point you've made about the lord of ashtama bhava being in

Pushkaramsa and that having made the ashtama shani is also very

interesting and thought provoking. incidentally, my 8th lord, moon is

also in pushkaramsa. Is Partha's moon also in pushkaramsa? I'll have

to check!!

( 6th house ), 7th house in 1978 and then in 1979 -1980 in Simha

Rashi in 8th house.So this clearly indicates Shani's transit in 8th

house from Lagna and Chandra Rashi has given beneficial results.For

Makara Lagna, Shani is Lagna and 2nd house lord and is a benefic for

this Lagna.Another important thing I learnt from this transit is

eventhough the transit of Shani over 8th house is bad ,if his sign

lord ie., Surya is placed in Meena Rashi in 3rd from both Lagna and

Chandra and is in Pushkaramsha.This Surya's Pushkaramsha has lifted

me and blessed with auspicious results during the Shani's transit

over Simha Rashi.During the above transit, Guru-Shani, Guru-Budha and

Guru-Ketu was running using 360 Savana days per year.Now Shani again

came to Simha rashi which is 8th from Lagna and Chandra.I pray God

that this transit also proves beneficial to me in all the ways.

Dear Members,

The transit of shani in 8th from my rasi - makar will be first such transit,

where I could observe from jyotish perspective. However, the sade sati (shani in

dhanu/makar/kumbha) has been most beneficial and rewarding period from career

(overseas job, consulting fame, wealth) as well family perspective (marriage,

first child)

I have been keenly reading these mails as it the information is very

pertinent to my situation.

My details

DOB: Nov 15, 1968

Location: Chennai

Time: 9:30 AM

Dhanur lagna, Simha Rasi. Have - retrograde Saturn with Rahu in 4th,

guru, mangala, ketu in 10th. Moon in 9th. Shukra in lagna.

Effects so far:

1. looking from mula dasa, starting in 1995, till date things were

bad. Extremely bad since 2001. Son diagnosed wiht autism, severe

pressure at work, home, son etc.

2. Very severe financial crisis since 2002 onwards. hand to mouth

existence.

Wearing Ruby (as per Sanjay ji's advise) and doing EK Jata mantra.

Other remedies trying: Aditya hridayam, rudram on mondays (with

complete fasting).

Interestingly, fasting has beeen extremely difficult for me on

Mondays - 8th lord? - by close of the day, I would faint of hunger.

I used to fast on Thursdays, it was relatively smooth.

Not sure how long I have to wait, but my experience has been sade-

sathi has been jolting !!

Thanks for bringing it to my notice because curiously enough this ashtama shani seems to have favourably impacted on the chara karaka(twa)s of the planets in trines & aspected by Tr Saturn in navamsa...he's gained a lovely wife and a better job (moon as DK), he's soon going to be a proud father (Mercury-PK), he's found nurturing/protection from an equally lovely mother-like person (Saturn as MK) and perhaps he's coming into his own or evolving as a person too(Sun as AK). It could also have happened because Tr Jupiter was simultaneously aspecting his natal 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th houses by rasi/graha drishtis.

Manifestation of dharmic & karmic connections?
