No one is questioning the sages here. We are trying to better understand them.

 

My understanding is: Benefics in 8th house have their significations hampered.

But in this case, Ve & Me are prospering in the 8th house while Ju is not.

 

What is the reason and inference?

Ok, what is Bhaskarji's inference? - That I am questioning the sages!!

My understanding is that benefic planets in 8th house have their significations

harmed

 

Consider 8th house and planet in it alone - only if you can isolate individual

effects, can you explain overall.

 

So from the initial understanding, all benefics must have their significations

harmed in the 8th house - Why should Me and Ve in 8th house prosper while Ju

doesn't? - sounds counter-intuitive.

 

See if Me is in 8th house and Mars is conjunct Me within 1 or 2 degrees, Me will

be ruined - you can use combinations to explain anything.

 

Point is: in Saravali, KalyanaVarma is isolating effects of each planet alone in

a house. Why does he say Ju is harmed while Me and Ve prosper?

Namaste.

 

In astrology everything is not as simple as it looks.

 

You are only considering me, ve and ju from the angle that they are natural

benefic planets, hence they should give similar results. What about the nature

of mercury?(quick learner and quick to compromise, easily influenced,

communications skills) Similarly consider venus(straightforward, just, fond of

luxuries/status) Jupiter- teacher/preacher,spiritual, detached or aloof)

 

If you consider the natural kalpurush chart, with mesh lagna, mercury become 3

and 6L in 8H, venus becomes the 2L and 7L in the 8H, and jupiter becomes the 9L

and 12L in the 8H. Jupiter as natural 9L, placed in 12th from its natural house

will give lost of fortune and dishonour.

 

When there are subh planets in 8H, lifespan is not usually curtailed, but the

illnesses they represent will be there especially if they have association with

lagna or lagnesh, in the appropriate periods.

 

The lordships of the houses of the planet in 8H will suffer, but it will be

different for each of the 2 houses it owns, depending on its placement from

house concerned.

 

The karka status of planets in 8H will also diminish.

 

The 8H is also 2nd from 7H, so the lifespan of the marriage is also indicated

here. Subh planets in 8H, will generally give longivity of marriage, unless the

planet is in enemy rashi and malefically aspected or deb/combust. As 2H

represents finance and family, 8H being 2nd from 7H, with subh planets, fortunes

increase through the partner and family relations with in-laws is cordial.

Take Kalpurush chart.

 

Me rules 3rd and 6th house. It is placed in 8th house. Therefore as 3rd lord

its placed in upchay i.e. 6th from 3rd and as 6th lord its placed in 3rd from

6th. Therefore the results of these 2 house will get enhanced. 6th house is

Upchay for 1st house and so in KAS terms LoE is in House A. or in other words,

the results of 1st house is enhanced. 8th house is KARAK sthan for 1st and its

natural lord is Mars. 3rd house is Mool Karak sthan for 1st house and its lord

is in Karak sthan.

 

Regarding Rich, again 8th house is 10th from 11th house. Now Mercury is in

upchay sthan for 11th house. Now 6th house (natural 6th is Virgo) so natural

6th lord is in 3rd from own house so upchay sthan and then again from phal sthan

i.e. 11th house its in 10th so again in upchay. 6th house is KARAK sthan for

11th which is success. So the native will be very rich.

 

The upchay theory is the underlying theory behind this and if you use the same

theory for most of the results given in classics so many things will get clear.

 

Case 2

Ve is 8th house. Ve rules 2nd and 7th house. From 7th house its in dhan sthan.

From 2nd house its in opposition to it. 8th house is upchay sthan from 11th and

in 11th from 10th as well. So upchay to both the house of authority and income.

So like that.

 

Case 3

 

Ju rules natural 12th and 9th house. As natual 9th lord its in 8th house i.e.

in 12th from 8th which is not conducive to matters of luck. A person might have

to face hard ships. Now as 12th lord in 8th house, means its upchay for 3rd

house i.e. 10th from 3rd and its placed in 6th house from 3rd therefore the

results of 3rd house will get enhanced. Therefore such a person will have to

work hard in life. Now it means the opposite house of luck (9th) house is

triggering which is hard work. So all the attributes like serving people,

associating with lower class people etc are psychology associated with such.

 

All this is based on kalpurush chart. So many things will change based on lord

ship.

 

If Guru rules 8th and itself is placed in 8th house then it will become sarla

yoga so things change.

 

For Virgo lagna if Ve is in 8th house then ........

I am not an elected astrologer, but do not try to take the astrologers as fools

over here, and make them look like fools. Every posting of yours is offensive to

say tghe least, trying to attacka nd question the knowledge of the astrologers

Just do not go by the general statements.

 

Mercury and Venus in 8th house only if otherwise strong

 

gives good result.

 

So also Jupiter.

 

Strength is the main factor.

 

By the way what Saravali means to say is that

 

the 8th house blemsih(planet placed within 5 degree distance from a negative

house such as 8th or 12th house gets afflicted) is not attached to Venus as well

as Mercury

 

when it 8th house Rasi is not their sign of exaltation, own house, mooltrikon

etc. or when they are otherwise not afflicted.

 

Simple 8th house placement of Mercury or Venus can not protect against

 

other types of general weakness or afflictions.

Dear Bhaskar Ji;I was trying to help Kiran ji by my own example.I was reading theory theory theory......... until your goodself guided me that the only method to know astrology is to put it in practice and then learn. From then I started analyzing horoscopes and began my true journey. A few case studies taught me What volumes of books couldn't.

Dear Kulbir ji,

 

Thanks for understanding my intentions. I have nothing against Kiran ji

or anybody else in this world, except I try to help where I can without

being asked to.

 

This reminds me of a instance -

 

Last month I had to take my wife to the Bank for some signatures and FD

encashments. Since she goes to the Yoga class every morning I decided to

pick her up from there itself. When I reached the class which is

situated on a Cemented structure on a Big playground, I noticed some

young boys from middle class families, sitting and smoking Cigarettes

and playing chess and just standing around. Among them was a very

fearful looking Big heavy and huge Guy with a big beard, white Topi, and

black flowing beard with a white Arabian robe. He was of course a

fearful looking Muslim. Their behaviours near a Yoga class was somehow

detesteable and making me aversive and creating resentments in me. I

wanted to speak to them a word or two. But was fearful that if this big

guy takes a offensive and gives me one blow with his big hand, I would

be down immediately. And he was also smoking. But soon I put these

thougts behind, replaced them with some positive thoughts and brougt in

a spirit of confidence and a casual attitude and decided to go ahead. I

decided to strike at the King of that Gang. Nothing less will do for

Bhaskar. I dont strike small mouses. Their backs were facing towards me.

I just went and tapped that Big Guy a little not so softly on his back,

and said " Hello. Good morning " . with a smile. " Nice to see you young

guys here. " " I want to tell you someting , and please you must not

mind " . Before they could reply I continued without allowing them any

moment to think and speak . I said " Its nice to see you here playing

Intelligent games like Chess, but you will appreciate that this is a

playground where school students , young and big children, sportsmen all

come to improve their health, and if you Guys are seen smoking here,

what will the young school children learn and idolise from you elders.

You are the shining stars of tomorrow. Smoking is not a crime but this

is not the right place for it. If you see some sense in my words, then

its fine otherwise I am sorry for having disturbed You. " These words

were mentioned to the fat and Huge Guy directly and distictly in a

raised but polite voice.

 

The response was, that he immediately threw away the cigarette and

crushed the butt under his shoes, and so did the others. I did say that

" Please finish your cigarette , I did not mean to waste your money " . But

they understood and realised their action, were apologetic and did the

needful with a Sorry. We parted with smiles around.

 

So its the duty of every responsible citizen if he is present somewhere

and notices matters amiss or unetically poised, either leave the place

or register a protest.

 

Same way as an astrologer who is responsible , I just interfere to set

matters rigt, but otherwise noting personal. If a person cannot speak

out against injustice, then its better for him to leave the assembly. I

am allowed to speak here, so I do.

I think prediction of these ( any ) placement of planets is based on the other laws of the planet too - Like Jupiter is not a secretive planet and it is said that it harms the significations of the Bhava in which it sits. 8th house being secretive knowledge bhava that is the reason why it must be bad in that.Just thinking.

Dear Ash ji,

 

I have few differences to what you have written.

 

3rd in 8th is not a good combination (Prasara)

7th in 8th is not a good combination (Prasara)

12th in 8th is a good combination (Prasara).

 

From and how we are assuming 7th in 8th or 3rd in 8th as good combination. And

why we are assuming 12th in 8th as bad?

Read, Study and understand well before Quoting someone or attempting to discredit.

Even a fool knowing basic astrology knows that the significations of houses are generally advanced if benefic planets occupy them, and reduced if malefic ones occupy same.

But in case of the 6th, 8th and the 12th Bhavas, the effects are reversed.

Rread the shlokas of Satyacharya ,. also read what Bhattotpala says about longevity factor when benefics are placed in the 8th and malefics are placed in the 8th. This will give one the answer why 8th house will not prosper with Jupiter in it. But again this is a general blanket statement for fools to read and aply as it is while narrating results of Jupiter in 8th. Just Jupiter being placed in 8th will not be the isolated cause for a reduced or enhanced longevity for instance. Treat same for other good and bad effects of Jupiter in 8th.

If Astrology was so easy then even a (Nariyal paani bechnewala) Coconut Water seller would trun an Astrologer overnight by reading statements from text books of astrology.

Dear Friend, I expect you to please present to the members of this Forum, what are the views of Kalyan Verma for Jupiter in 8th, Mercury in 8th and Venus in 8th, FOR EACH ASCENDANT , before jumping to conclusions...

prosprity.

 

Therefore, now we have a contradiction. If you go by 3rd lord in 8th is " BAD "

then we would need to understand what the Maharishi meant by " BAD " .

 

Otherwise 3rd lord in 8th means its in 6th from 3rd. 6th is powerful upchay

sthan as its upchay from both Phal sthan and Karak sthan.

 

So kindly share what is meant by " Good " and " Bad " . then we can resolve this.

 

Or in other words " Good " and " Bad " for what? is it for full life or is it for

some event or is it for ALL 12 house etc etc.

By BAD, he meant opposite to what we were discussing.

3rd in 8th - will earn livelihood serving others, a thief

7th in 8th - wife and marital issues

12th in 8th - shall gain and have good qualities

 

To me, Upachaaya are definitely mentioned by Prasara but here what you were

mentioning was referring from 3rd. It can not be same as ASC and would related

to 3rd significations.

3rd is house of parakram. So when 3rd house grows, what can it mean?

 

About becoming a thief, then for example, if 3rd lord is Sun i.e. Gemini lagna

and every year when Sun is in Capricorn, all the Gemini borns for that 1 month

will they all become theifs?

 

Of if Say Sag or Sco born person and for 2.5 years Sa will be in Cancer or

Gemini, then all those persons will become Thiefs?

 

That is not possible and I do not think our Maharishis would mean that.

 

7th lord in 8th house and 8th hosue is very important to have children then how

is it bad if one wants to procreate?

 

That way 7th lord in 12th house will pave way for 5th house i.e. become Karak

for 5th house. So now how is it that 7th lord in 12th will become bad? (here i

am adding 12th house angle which is not in our discussion, but to point out that

blindly going by 8th as bad and 12th as bad cannot be the norm for whole chart).

 

3rd lord in 8th house means 3rd house grows in significance. 3rd house is that

of parakram and if you notice the attributes that Kalyan Verma has attributed to

" General " significance is based on parakram for example Thief means an " Act " or

" Parakram " , it can also mean that a person will " Serve others " means again its

dealing with " Parakram " and here there is growth. Now how a person will use the

parakram will depend on the nature of the person i.e. if he will become a theif

or serve the community at large etc etc.

 

Therefore 3rd lord in 8th means its " Growing the significance of 3rd " . 3rd is

Mool karak for 1st.

 

Parakram lord goes in the house that controls 11th i.e. success and tries to

grow 11th house matters. Now a person can become rich by " stealing " i.e. thief

and using his parakram in bad way or antisocial way or he migth grow his wealth

serving othesr of a good cause and being a role model citizen.

 

So again, upchay theory is used is my point. Just going by 6th 8th and 12th as

BAD for all house cannot be true.

 

I hope you understand my point.

 

12th lord in 8th is again dealing with Parakram. 10th from 3rd in 6th from 3rd.

Besides, if Aries is the lagna then 12th lord in any house will enhance the

result of the house its placed in. Therefore the significance of 8th house will

become good. In other words, in VA one is using it as vipareet raj yog.

Dear Ashji,

 

I would like to put it simple. I just produced what classic says and personally,

I rate Prasara higher than any other classic. (It is purely my personal view and

choice). Your concern on Sun/ Saturn etc. are welcome but same shall apply to

any dictum. All the dictums in any classic would not work always since there

shall be many other factors that need to be seen. So they work, if supported by

many other conditions.

 

Regarding your 3rd strength, If Prakram is strong, it would certainly help but

is not a sole factor to make one rich or something great. As per my experience

so far, stick to your ideology and add on to it any new learning but with pinch

of salt especially when dealing with the generic dictums.

 

Again, we are free to disagree and it is good sometimes.
