hear them as opposed to nothing

at all from you, because you

are dear to me in my heart,

and i delight in you.

Let me tell you i am suppressing irritation here, toomy.

In spite of the many ways people have told you, you

come down on the side of nihilism, i see you brush past

those replies.

Lakshmi was 'enlightened' in the same way every appearance

is, by the mere 'fact' of appearing.

You use it, often, to imply a silliness, but the silliness

lies in not checking in what manner it might be so.

Diana,

Is it possible that Ramana was wrong?

Was everything that came from his mouth true?

Or maybe he was pointing out that everything is enlightened, inluding

the cow, and the only thing that is not enlightened is an illusion.

What comes from anyone's mouth is what comes

from someone's mouth. Do with it what you

will.

but an invitation to see if there's anything

beyond that measuring mind?

I would say that they are probably correct, although they often miss

the possible fact that they too are infallible.

Everything is. The illusion is the belief that not everything is.

Hi Diana and Pete!

<S>

But consider he is actually right:

There is no one there.

Only an answering machine

programmed to search

every received message

for a positive statement,

negating it, and send it back.

Or every now and then, automatically

returning a nondual statement

from a pre prepared list

and add it to the recieved mail, like:

" There is a bird in a bottle "

" show me the bird "

" mind is mind " etc

That make sense? ;-)

Tom

God designed cows to eat grass.....we can't eat grass.....so we eat cows......

Cows are not designed to transcend themselves....

They eats grass....and we eats them.

You don't see a lot of wild cows running around these days.......If we didn't

eat them....they

wouldn't even be here........

I'm sure that Lakshmi was a very nice cow.....She really was pretty ...for a

cow........

but

she was a cow...for christ's sake..........just a cow.

P.S.

The real issue here is not if Lakshmi was enlightened or not.

(She wasn't....... by the way)

The dilemma evolves around the fact that if Ramana was delusional on one

point......his

whole doctrine is questionable.

It is preferable...to some minds.....to accept that a cow can become enlightened

......then

question the logic of a venerated sage........and the accumulated baggage

acquired at

great expense.

Does anyone recall man named Jim Jones?

Why do you believe that no " self " does........or can.

That's part of your game construct too yes?

Oh, I'm beginning to get why you play this game.

It brings some fun. It is a bit fun to play.

I guess everybody plays their games.

Playing those mind games......forever......

beating those mind guerillas.

This is a barren land Pete...nothing lives here.......no train leaves this

station.......It is the

horror of delusional separation..the realistic fear of impending doom......There

is no way

to sweeten it......You will never reach a place that never was...........

Only palliative care is offered here.........

I'm sorry.......your dreams of autonomy.........are only dreams......

Hey....but isn't that a hoot?

mind........

How do you know? If you can't " know " ?

You have said that you can't know in enldess poetic cycles.

and I enjoy them, but let's cut through the bull here for a moment.

You can't kid an ole' kidder. You can try but that my dear is

what's futile.

It is your wedding feast toombaru and here we are all in attendance.

I'm just waiting for the zombee jamboree to start singing and you

can take the lead chorus verse, all the while denying there's any

song going on.

yowza!

So, Al, my dear, if the illusion is the belief that not everything

is then why are you busily attempting to *not* accept some aspects

which you pointed out in a previous thread?

Is it because you think some things are *right* and some are *wrong*?

This then leads to choice-- which is exactly where humanity is in

their evolution... beginning the process of understanding choice so

they can make *different* choices -- you know, choose to think and

discuss rather than pick up a gun and blow the neighbors brains out

because they aren't living the way we want them too.

Your questioning is quite productive because your coming from a more

practical place whereas the beloved Toombaru sets a game rule that

says cows can't be enlightened (paraphrasing) and yet then goes on

to say that there are no such things as cows or thoughts which

create the cow. Wow that takes some mental gymnastics just to

figure out where our lead singer of the zombee jamboree is coming

from.

Anyone want to enroll in a course called " mental gymnastics 101 " ?

It's all just fine...it's all working itself out...even though some

will say, " what? There is " No " thing in which to work out.

I say, obviously there is or you wouldn't be here.
