Super soul is eternal. it has no limit.it is present every where .

with our mind with our knowledge and intellect we cannot realise this supersoul. it is beyond all limit. With yoga sadhana we can realise the supersoul and unify ourselves to supreme god head.

Hare Krishna and all glories to Srila Prabhupada....

the size of the soul has been described in Vedic literatures. there are 2 interpretations: the literal, direct interpretation, is given by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, as being 1/10,000 parts of the size of the tip of a human hair. the description is take a hair, divide it into a hundred parts, then take a part and divide it again into a hundred. Now the second interpretation of this is that some acharyas state that when the Vedas say divide it into a hundred, it doesnt mean literally into 100 but into uncountable.

the Parmatma, or supersoul, resides within the soul; some interpret it to reside besides the soul.

Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Srimad Bhagavatam

SB 2.2.1: Sri Sukadeva Gosvami said: Formerly, prior to the manifestation of the cosmos, Lord Brahma, by meditating on the virat-rupa, regained his lost consciousness by appeasing the Lord. Thus he was able to rebuild the creation as it was before.

SB 2.2.2: The way of presentation of the Vedic sounds is so bewildering that it directs the intelligence of the people to meaningless things like the heavenly kingdoms. The conditioned souls hover in dreams of such heavenly illusory pleasures, but actually they do not relish any tangible happiness in such places.

SB 2.2.3: For this reason the enlightened person should endeavor only for the minimum necessities of life while in the world of names. He should be intelligently fixed and never endeavor for unwanted things, being competent to perceive practically that all such endeavors are merely hard labor for nothing.

SB 2.2.4: When there are ample earthly flats to lie on, what is the necessity of cots and beds? When one can use his own arms, what is the necessity of a pillow? When one can use the palms of his hands, what is the necessity of varieties of utensils? When there is ample covering, or the skins of trees, what is the necessity of clothing?

SB 2.2.5: Are there no torn clothes lying on the common road? Do the trees, which exist for maintaining others, no longer give alms in charity? Do the rivers, being dried up, no longer supply water to the thirsty? Are the caves of the mountains now closed, or, above all, does the Almighty Lord not protect the fully surrendered souls? Why then do the learned sages go to flatter those who are intoxicated by hard-earned wealth?

SB 2.2.6: Thus being fixed, one must render service unto the Supersoul situated in one's own heart by His omnipotency. Because He is the Almighty Personality of Godhead, eternal and unlimited, He is the ultimate goal of life, and by worshiping Him one can end the cause of the conditioned state of existence.

SB 2.2.7: Who else but the gross materialists will neglect such transcendental thought and take to the nonpermanent names only, seeing the mass of people fallen in the river of suffering as the consequence of accruing the result of their own work?

SB 2.2.8: Others conceive of the Personality of Godhead residing within the body in the region of the heart and measuring only eight inches, with four hands carrying a lotus, a wheel of a chariot, a conchshell and a club respectively.

SB 2.2.9: His mouth expresses His happiness. His eyes spread like the petals of a lotus, and His garments, yellowish like the saffron of a kadamba flower, are bedecked with valuable jewels. His ornaments are all made of gold, set with jewels, and He wears a glowing head dress and earrings.

SB 2.2.10: His lotus feet are placed over the whorls of the lotuslike hearts of great mystics. On His chest is the Kaustubha jewel, engraved with a beautiful calf, and there are other jewels on His shoulders. His complete torso is garlanded with fresh flowers.

SB 2.2.11: He is well decorated with an ornamental wreath about His waist and rings studded with valuable jewels on His fingers. His leglets, His bangles, His oiled hair, curling with a bluish tint, and His beautiful smiling face are all very pleasing.

SB 2.2.12: The Lord's magnanimous pastimes and the glowing glancing of His smiling face are all indications of His extensive benedictions. One must therefore concentrate on this transcendental form of the Lord, as long as the mind can be fixed on Him by meditation.

SB 2.2.13: The process of meditation should begin from the lotus feet of the Lord and progress to His smiling face. The meditation should be concentrated upon the lotus feet, then the calves, then the thighs, and in this way higher and higher. The more the mind becomes fixed upon the different parts of the limbs, one after another, the more the intelligence becomes purified.

The way I believe it is Vamsidhar is that within the human form and perceived by the soul in human form Paramatma is seen as approximately eight inches. A bee would would perceive Him from another perspective.

But we can't capture Paramatma and declare that He is eight inches and not nine or seven. As Mahaksa said he is smaller than the smallest. So He is within the atom and also within subatmoic particles as well. He is eight inches but also He is infinetly smaller than eight inches. Krsna houses all contradictions perfectly and harmoniously.

He is also bigger than the biggest. He is the Soul of the cosmos. No one can surpass Krsna in any direction by being larger than Him or smaller than Him.

He is larger than we can conceive and smaller than we can imagine. Our minds cannot ever run fast enough to catch Him. Yet because He is kind He will appear before His devotees and allow them to meditate upon His transcendental form.

Mother Yashoda also has her ways of catching Him. Big or small nevermind. Her love will bind Him under her control.

Haribol,

Does our scriptures mention where paramatma resides, in the heart of our material body or within our soul? Can you please clear this doubt also ?

Heart region, but not exactly in the heart like water is inside a jar. Water in the jar moves along with the jar when the jar is moved. But like in a heart transplant operation the soul and Supersoul are not forced to move with the heart.

A crude example perhaps but something like if you had a jar and lid and went outside and captured some air from a sunny day and released that air in a dark room you would not see any illumination from what you captured. The sun appears to be everywhere in the air but it is really of a much finer nature.

TRANSLATION Srimad Bhagavatam 3.28.19

Thus always merged in devotional service, the yogī visualizes the Lord standing, moving, lying down or sitting within him, for the pastimes of the Supreme Lord are always beautiful and attractive.

PURPORT

The process of meditating on the form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead within oneself and the process of chanting the glories and pastimes of the Lord are the same. The only difference is that hearing and fixing the mind on the pastimes of the Lord is easier than visualizing the form of the Lord within one's heart because as soon as one begins to think of the Lord, especially in this age, the mind becomes disturbed, and due to so much agitation, the process of seeing the Lord within the mind is interrupted. When there is sound vibrated praising the transcendental pastimes of the Lord, however, one is forced to hear. That hearing process enters into the mind, and the practice of yoga is automatically performed. For example, even a child can hear and derive the benefit of meditating on the pastimes of the Lord simply by listening to a reading from the Bhāgavatam that describes the Lord as He is going to the pasturing ground with His cows and friends. Hearing includes applying the mind. In this age of Kali-yuga, Lord Caitanya has recommended that one should always engage in chanting and hearing Bhagavad-gītā. The Lord also says that the mahātmās, or great souls, always engage in the process of chanting the glories of the Lord, and just by hearing, others derive the same benefit. Yoga necessitates meditation on the transcendental pastimes of the Lord, whether He is standing, moving, lying down, etc.

-----------------

An important point is that where it says, "the yogi visualizes the Lord", it is not meaning visualization in the prevelant sense of the word in use in today. Like a hypnotherapist will ask the personing he is guiding to visualize a certain scene or situation. That means the person is creating the picture in his mind and then he may be asked to interact with that image in some way.

Impersonaists think that is what we are trying to do when we talk of seeing the Lord within ourselves. But that is not it. The Lord of His own volition stands sits moves around and is sometime lying down. The perfect yogi is granted the ability to see what the Lord is actually doing. Anf he may interact with the Lord in whatever mood of devotion he has cultivated. It is not imaginary.
