I can see the signs of that already.

last year several people approached me in town and asked 'whatever happened to the Hare Krsna's'.

I have said it to you before Kula, the mood you present here is no way offensive in my opinion. It is very sensible and appealing to me.

Most people of good sense grow out of their personality cult ideas at some point, and discover a much richer relationship (mature).

I say that out of compassion for you and all other keyboard philosophers ready to badmouth anybody who does not fit their standard of purity and devotion.

Unfortunately people like myself live in their cave and are only brave enough to hang out here online. Maybe that is the bottom line if I was to be honest, why things are inert and just a bunch of words. Suggesting the reason for this, 'oh the leadership is dysfunctional'....what a cop out that can be. A common cop out though.

You are right on the ball, some floor sweeping would work wonders. For all us cave dwellers. As you said to me months ago, one on one dealings helps one see themselves clearer. Who knows, such activity might even make some good friends, or even sangha! Sangha has always been a major limb in many eastern paths.

And for those who insist that title only applies to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, then how about we use HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami's admonishment to accept the "current link" in the sampradaya. And how he says we MUST understand previous acaryas through the insight of the current acarya we choose to follow. by andy

I think what he means is that Caitanya is the central focus...and the unifying point for us all. Each subsequent acarya will always point to Gaura tattva. Gaura tattva is the goal.

  4. Srila Prabhupada: Until these world leaders read my books and take to this Vedic culture, what kind of civilization will they have? Dog race. Horse race. They want this. Rat race. That's all. Their civilization is a race. Dog race. Horse race. Rat race. The citizens do not know anything about this great science of the soul. Modern civilization means that people are simply becoming rascals, animals. Of course, strictly speaking, theirs is a motor race. They have advanced beyond the common dog race to a motor race. But if a doggish person is running not on four legs but on four wheels, does that mean he is not a dog? It is the same race. The same race--whether by running on four legs or on four wheels. The race is the same, and the dog is the same.

So this civilization is a glorified dog race. Modern man does not know, "I may feel proud of racing around in a car, but is there any value if I do not understand the meaning of my life?" Hmm? So this is going on. A big, big highway for dog racing--that is modern civilization.

And when rascal yogis and swamis present their version of the Vedic culture, they say something like, "By this transcendental meditation you will keep your dog race very nice." In reality, these yogis and swamis are bewildered by this materialistic civilization. "Oh, very nice. It is very nice." That's all. In Bhagavad-gita Krishna describes such personalities. Mohitam nabhijanati mam ebhyah param avyayam: "Bewildered by the modes of material nature, fools and rascals do not know Me, who am above the modes and inexhaustible." The modern world is filled with such mudhas, rascals. So, again, the only hope is that you distribute my books as much as possible.

In London there is a big stadium for dog racing. Do you know that? Many people go to see the dogs race.

I cannot imagine seeking other company who is not as strict as me about "Prabhupada only", without having to feel the need to call "Horseshit, that is your speculation and I won't follow" time and again.

Which means I will continue to lead my own life, and if someone comes along who is as chaste as myself to Srila Prabhupada but has accomplished creating a richer, deeper, more societally inclusive program than I have, I will consider a chance for meaningful subordination and join in and follow more than lead until I find my new place.

    straight up...I respect your mood.

It is all based on Love and Trust. In Prabhupada's vani I trust. Anyone else claiming some inspiration to lead differently according to time place and circumstance, as if it has changed that much since Srila Prabhupada left, I will wish them well, but know they are doomed to second rate.

Keep a crack in your heart open...Krsna may come through a different door oneday...to show you how great he is in sharing with all folk (and their unique circumstances). He is the wisest of the wise.

And the humbling for those who think the race is won.

This "kundalini" , is there a way to fix what she did to herself?

Hi Annette nice to see you posting.

I have experienced an intense spontaneous kundalini awakening that began 14 years ago. I understand what your friend is going through.

It can heal...and lead to a transformation.

  10. I am reading it at the moment, and to be honest his writing is complex for me. So it is a very slow read.

    Oh yeah...Hi!! lol

Basically Primate I have intuited concepts similar, before taking up this book. Possibly our same thinking pattern is due to the personalist ideal...

What I am finding within my personal encounter and unfoldment of self-awareness is that the tendency seems to be one of merging. An example may be deep intimacy during loving dealings.

The nature of our being seems to be individual, and Teilhard as far as I understand speaks of individuation...not as a dis-intergration but as a convergence. The wonder of this is that the individuized entity retains personality while at the same to is fully self aware of the movement of the whole.

Caitanya, through mystical encounter expressed the same thing. A oneness and individuality co-existing. And I know this counts for nothing..but I do experience this also.

The culmination of love reaches its peak in union...and is intensified in the seperation. I feel this dynamic (a potent dynamism) is a part of the ongoing evolution of love...of the organism moving toward wholeness (hominization).

Teilhard's speculations were rejected by the orthodoxy, but he never claimed an absolute truth. The interesting thing is he seems to have been an early pioneer within 20th century development and global awareness. A pioneer rejected by his superiors..

He aided in the discovery of Peking Man. And his writing is an attempt to reconcile his deep religious faith with science. While living in China he could vision the future convergence of east and west...and this paralleled his thoughts for a future unity.

He missed one essential point in this regard though...the combining of all thought, 'including the aboriginal spirituality of earth', and all other diverse expressions.

I am sure he foresaw to some degree todays world, and would write about these things now. The combined movement of consciousness that will take place during this century.

Primate, my thinking has changed alot since our meetings months ago (thank God)...but I still hold to one expression that I learnt from the Gaudiyas...and that is...individulaity is a great treasure of what is.

Sure the earth may be decaying just like our bodies...but the movement of consciousness within that vessel is very potent.

Sorry for the long winded answer, that probably doesnt answer your question that well.

The religionists often seem to debate against very naieve concept of evolution. Old thoughts from bible, darwinism, and all that. Whereas this evolution expressed by Teilhard and others...is not completely out of harmony with vedic thought...if we look deep enough. Sonic suggested a few posts back that Prabhupada spoke of an evolution. So did Srila BR Sridhara. Their vision of evolution is purely transcendental, holding to the tradition. Whereas Teilhard and others still speak in the language of this earth. Unfortunately that is often considered mayavada (knowldge gleaned from maya) by staunch Gaudiyas.

Darwanism was an incomplete theory. Not an absolute paradigm, whereas the religionists seem drawn to absolutes within their thinking processes.
