  1. "no te` gaatram naapi janmapi nakhya no va roopam niiva seelam na desa: twamev sookshma:purushvavyayastwam twameva sookshmat paramam cha sookshmam" My Lord, Thou hast no lineage, nor birth, nor name nor form. Neither hast Thou any duty or any locality. Tho art the spirit, dwelling in all, Invisible and immutable. Thou art the subtlest of the subtle. "vyaktistwameva prakrutistwameva twameva bhoomi: salilam twameva twameva vahni: pavanastwameva twameva yjno niyamastwameva" Thou art the Manifest and Unmanifest. You art the earth, water, fire and air. Thou art the sacrifice and the rules thereof. " sarvasmin sarvabhootastwam sarva: sarvasvaroopadhruk sarva twattastatascha twam nama:sarvatmanoastute`" "Lord, You abide in all; You are all; You assumest all forms You are the origin of all; You are the self of all; Salutations to Thee" Whether Krishna, Rama x2, Vamana, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Satya Sai Baba and a host of others might be the manifirst forms of that Ultimate Reality. I do not contest, simply because I am ignorant. Host of people, from time immemmorial, has committed blasphemy. In fact, we humans consider questioning every age old 'belief' a blasphemy. But the history of the homo sapiens points to the fact scince and philosophy have developed through a spirit of inquiry; arguments and counter-arguments. The Ultimate Aim could be realized through forms or without forms. And I do agree that it is easy to reach IT through forms. Neither the vedas nor the bible is infallible. All are compositions of great men of learning. By critically analysing the bible or the sruties and smruties, you get the essence of it, which is eternal. Rest of it has to go through a process of reformation.
  2. ===="avajananti mam mudha"===== I am the one who consider myself a great moodha and ajnani. Because I don't know. I am a moodha vidyarthi trying to understand. And it seems I will never understand, just like my brother moodhas. This moodha only said that Krishna intrepreted the essence of the vedas lucidly. Vedas came from Narayana or Brahma through the great Vivasa or Vyasa I do not know. I have no opinions for or against it. Simply because I do not know. As per the vedas, I am also not entitled to know. Because only twice born ones are entitled to. Vasudeva, apart from what his biographer Vyasa, said, happens to be a historical fact. Madhura, Dwaraka and Kurukshetra reminds us of that. And vedas or no vedas, Krishna lives in the hearts of the villagers of Northern India through folk songs handed over to from generation to generation. And no doubt, was great, uncomparable to any other avataras.. a complete man, with all sat, rajo, tamasic qualities of a great being. This is my view, might be a foolish view.
  3. The oligarchy of brahmin-kshatriya-vaishya combine has throttled down the majority throug millennia. The Caste system 'Father' Manu invented to pursue a group of oligarchs'heinous vested interests got 'divine' sanctions from the Highest authority, so he told and made us believe. The chaturvarnya has done irreparable damage to all that Sanatana Dharma stands for. Even the Biblical God has asked only 'to go and enslave them' and enjoy their service. They were not made untouchables. Manu & Co made the majority of the people less than swines, treating them as such. The first reference to varna (class based on birth or caste) is to be found in the Purusha-Sukta of the Rig Veda The system of varnashram dharma, now popularly known as the caste system, is upheld by popular Hindu scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagvat-Gita The great Rama killed Shambuka, a sudra, simply because he was practicing ‘tapasya’. Dronacharya refused to teach archery to Ekalavya simply because of the same reason and when Ekalavya mastered I on his own(accepting Drona as notional Guru), Drona asks for his right thump as gurudakshina so that he should not outrival Kshatri Arjuna! The Bhagvat-Gita, too, favors varna-vyavastha. When Arjuna refuses to fight, one of his main worries was that the war would lead to the birth of varna-sankaras or offspring from intermixing of different varnas and the consequent "downfall" of the family. On the other hand, Krishna tries to motivate Arjuna to fight by saying that it was his varna-dharma (caste-duty) to do so because he was a Kshatriya. Krishna goes to the extent of claiming that the four varnas were created by him only. In the very first chapter of Manusmriti, it is clearly stated that Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras were created by Brahma (creator of this world) from his mouth, hands, thighs and feet respectively . Manu claims that the same Brahma, who created this world, also created Manusmriti and taught it to him. The duties of the different varnas are also mentioned in the Manusmriti. The Brahmins were created for teaching, studying, performing yajnas (ceremonial sacrifices), getting yajnas performed, giving and accepting daan (gifts) The Kshatriyas were created for protecting the citizens, giving gifts, getting yajnas performed and studying. The Vaishyas were created for protecting animals, giving gifts, getting yajnas performed, studying, trading, lending money on interest and doing agricultural work. The Shudras were created by Brahma for serving Brahmins and the other two varnas without being critical of them. It is interesting to note that studying, getting yajnas performed and giving gifts or charity are common duties of Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas; whereas teaching, accepting gifts and performing yajnas are reserved exclusively for Brahmins. The Shudras, of course, are denied the rights to study, getting yajnas performed by Brahmins or even giving gifts to them. Manusmriti further states that having originated from the mouth of Brahma, being elder and being the repository of the Vedas; Brahmins are the masters of the entire universe. Besides, Brahmins alone act as a sort of post office for transmitting food to the gods and the dead, that is to say, the gods and the dead eat food through the mouths of Brahmins (apparently because they do not have mouths of their own). Therefore, no one can be superior to Brahmins. All others are said to enjoy everything owing to the Brahmins' mercy. The Manusmriti clearly states that Brahmins alone are entitled to teach this dharmashastra and none else. Assigning different duties and occupations for different varnas. This is to be enforced strictly by the king. According to Manusmriti, if a person of lower caste adopts the occupation of a higher caste, the king ought to deprive him of all his property and expel him from his kingdom. Treating Brahmins as superior and other varnas, namely, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra as inferior to him in descending order with the Shudra occupying the bottom of the hierarchy. A Brahmin is to be treated as god and respected even if he is ignorant. Even a hundred-year old Kshatriya is to treat a ten year old Brahmin as his father. Brahmin alone is entitled to teach. If a Shudra dares to give moral lessons to a Brahmin, the king is to get him punished by pouring hot oil in his ear and mouth.Similarly, if a Shudra occupies the same seat as a Brahmin, he is to be punished by branding his waist (with hot rod) or getting his buttocks cut. The punishment for a particular crime is not same for all varnas. In fact, the punishment varies depending on the varna of the victim as well as the varna of the person committing the crime. For the same crime, the Brahmin is to be given a mild punishment, whereas the Shudra is to given the harshest punishment of all. Similarly, if the victim of a crime is a Shudra, the punishment is mild, and the punishment is harsh in case the victim is a Brahmin. For example, if a Brahmin is awarded death sentence, it is sufficient to shave his head, but Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra are to actually die. If a Kshatriya, a Vaishya, or a Shudra repeatedly gives false evidence in the court, he is to be punished and expelled from the kingdom, whereas the Brahmin is not to be punished, he is to be only . But If a Brahmin forces a Shudra to work for him, whether by making or not making payments to him, he is not to be punished, because Shudras have been created only for serving Brahmins. If a Brahmin abuses a Shudra, he is to be fined mildly, but if a Shudra abuses a Brahmin, he is to be killed. On the other hand, even if a Brahmin kills a Shudra, he is merely to perform penance by killing a cat, frog, owl or crow, etc. Thus a Shudra is to be killed for abusing a Brahmin, whereas a Brahmin is to be let off lightly even if he kills a Shudra. Such is the unequal justice of Manusmriti. Let us see what Manusmriti, has to say about the C handala. The Chandala, says Manusmriti, must not ever reside inside the village. While doing their work, they must reside outside the village, at cremation ground, on mountains or in groves. They are not entitled to keep cows or horses, etc., as pet animals. They may keep dogs and donkeys. They are to wear shrouds. They are to eat in broken utensils. They are to use ornaments of iron, not of gold. They must keep moving from one place to another, not residing at the same place for a long duration. The Apastamba Dharma Sutra and the Vasishtha Dharma Sutra endorses the laws codified by Father Manu. A fine system of 'division of labour'! This 'division' divided humans into 'humans' and 'sub-humans' and a 'holy' cow was much superior to the sudra. Any way the 'Creator' created as such, they say. The creator has every right to create to his liking. But when the creator is referred to as 'Param Pita', he is supposed to have certain qualities. The 'Param Pita' the dwijas created was the Param Pita of them, not of the masses. Who Knows?
  4. Krishna was a great Yadava king. A king of philosophers, who re-invented and interpreted the essence of Vedas and Upanishads. More than that, he was a complete man. The great Yadava has immortalized himself through the Gita. Deifying something great is common human nature. Buddha who said nothing about God or gods stands deified. I have read about the story of an Egyptian Pharaoh, a great benevolent ruler, who said that there is no God and one has to lead a good life and serve others. During his reign, the temples of Ra went empty. When he died, his subjects made him an avtar of Ra and started worshipping him! 'I am That', Krishna declared, says his biographer(Veda Vyasa). 'I am the Only Son', Jesus Joseph Christ declared, says his biographers. May be or may not be. Or overzealous biographers or followers might have added those lines into it. As Rig Veda says, 'May Be or May Not Be, WHO KNOWS?'
  5. Dear Brother Scoundrels, We are happy to inform you that we have received an enthusiastic reply from Her Democratic Majesty, Sonia of the Sonia Congress of India. This was the first we received so far. Her Majestic letter is reproduced herebelow: “ Hon’ble Lifetime Chairman, It was a pleasure to receive your august letter. My Italian head, artificially impregnated by Indian ethos, never thought of such a fantastic idea. I can definitely think of an outright merger of my own party with yours. On two pre-conditions: 1. I should be the Lifetime President, while you remain the Lifetime Chairman. 2. We can work out a Common Agenda. I do not find any difficulty in that since the agenda of my party and yours is more or less the same. But , whether it is an out right merger or a Common Agenda, whenever the SPLI comes into power, I should be made the PM of India, my daughter the President of Lanka and my son, the Maharajah of Nepal. (We have been called a dynasty but without a proper crown on head ). I cannot compromise on this. This we deserve and this is our inalienable right. As you know( or do not know), Mr. Chairman, it was my great-grand father-in-law who wrote every line of the Constitution of India but one Dr. Ambedkar took the entire credit. It was my great -father-in-law who got this India for you from the English. But, that man in dhoti, Gandhi, took the entire credit for it. It is written down in history that the reign of my great-father-in-law was the Golden Age of India and it was, no doubt, better than Rama rajya or that of the Guptas and Mauryas. But still, the people has been fed by the Sangh parivar that Rama rajya, and the Guptas and Mauryas ruled better. And nobody ruled like my Emergent Mother-in-Law, the avatar of goddess Shakti. Even the beggars on the street said that “India is Indira and Indira is India”. And it is well known that my late Husband is an avatar of Rama. He sent his troops to Sri Lanka on a peace making campaign and he made it is history now that how beautifully he made peace with the Tigers. But, in spite of our services to this country, we were always victimized. Mr. Chairman, I have a vision of this land. Though they classify Aryans as Indo-Europeans, with the coming of me at the Center - stage here, a pure fusion of Indian and Europian blood has occurred. And I wanted to prove it to the world that the Sonia-Nehru Dynasty would be much greater and glorious than the Mauryas, Guptas, Cholas and Chalukyas. It is with this vision that I wanted to join hands with your esteemed Party. On receipt of your reply, accepting my terms, I will call my Working Committee to inform of my decision. Please convey my best wishes to other brother-scoundrels. Regards” We will inform you of further developments. Your suggestions are always welcome. Let Us Loot Together. Satyamevajayate` Founder-cum Life Time Chairman Scoundrels’ Party of Larger India

SCOUNDRELS’ PARTY OF LARGER INDIA We, the Scoundrels of the Larger India, having solemnly constituted ourselves into a Political Party, give unto ourselves: “Justice, Political and Economic Liberty for free-for-all expression And equality amongst ourselves.,” With a firm belief that politics is the last resort of a scoundrel . The Larger India which we proposes to rule consists of the Indian sub-continent, the land-locked Kingdom of Nepal and the Island republic of revered Sri Ravan Maharaj. As the august scoundrels assembled here knows that these lands are bonded together by the never-breakable threads of corruption, nepotism, casteism, communalism and other valuable isms that make us scoundrels pride of our common heritage. First annual general meeting of our party is scheduled to be held on the All Fools Day of this year in New Delhi, the paradise-on-earth for our esteemed scoundrels. Invitations have already been sent to His Rroyal Highness, the Maharajah of Nepal, and his Prime Minister, H.E. the All-in-All Three-in-One of the Islamic Republic of punyabhoomi Pakistan and the President of Sri Lanka, the Most Hon’ble Vulnerable Prime Ministers of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. Letters of invitation has also been sent to the Hon’ble leaders of Opposition in some of these countries where opposition exists and I have pointed out to them that Scoundrocacy is a better form of government than democracy. Letters have also been sent to that jem of a yadava, the Rt Hon’ble Laloo Prasad and to Sushri. Jaya Lalitha, with a copy of Jayalalitha Sahsranamam Let us hope that these jewels among us will guide us like the great Kautilya guided Chandragupta. Founder-cum-Life Time Chairman Scoundrels Party of Larger India
  7. My Good Young Friend, Think of a situation like this: A poor widowed lady’s only son, her only hope, was in hospital in a critical condition. She knocked all the doors, including the Lord’s to raise some money for his operation. At last, when it seemed all doors were closed, she robbed some money of a neighbour, also a poor lady. She had kept the money for her daughter’s marriage. The next day the two ladies stood before Lord Lakshmi Narayan. The widowed lady prayed: “ Merciful One, thank you for saving my only son. Forgive me for stealing and save me from police, because nobody else is there to take care of my ailing son” The second lady prayed: “ Omniscient and Omnipotent Lord, you only knows who has stolen my money. Please recover my money and punish the robber” Supposing another ardent lover prayed before the Lord for the hand of the girl? You will come across instances like this. An innocent man convicted to death, a real murderer getting acquitted , a pious person dies in an accident while on a pilgrimage to Vaishnodevi or Mecca ….. We all are unable to explain the phenomena. God is the Primordial Nature. He does the things in His own natural way. He is the best judge. Regarding prayers, seek Him ardently, but ask Him not. Because, simply there is no need for asking. With Love Anveshanam
  8. Of the Formless and the ‘form’ One of the widely debated subject is about Fom. Whether IT has some form , whether IT has assumed forms or whether IT is the Formless ‘form’. To the bible says IT is He in a human form and to the quran IT is formless. To the ancient religious philosophies, whether it is Indian, African, Aztec, Mayan or Chinese( We can put all in the ‘oriental’ category) IT is formless, but has assumed forms. I remember of a debate I entered into with a Muslim scholar, when I was 18 or 19. I was trying to establish that Mohammed was no authorized representative or the Last sole selling agent of God, that he was a great social reformer, warrior and administrator of the Arabs. He became very angry and said the Indians worship the lingam and the yoni, the snake and the monkey. At that time I could not logically convince him what all these stands for or why people worshipped the monkey and the lingam. This debate or argument started my anveshanam. Great books and great people explained me that Hanuma was an avtar of Shiva, that on the Anatha lay Anthapadmanabha and the like….Later I found it was so simple. Our great seers and sages-philosophers and satyanveshis of the highest order- has conveyed it all. The Lord of all beings does not differentiate between beings. He may take the form of a fish or a pig or a nra-simha. He could be realized in the form of a snake or monkey or a donkey. Krishna and Rama, Caitanya or Sai Baba may be avatars or may not be. But that is irrelevant and immaterial. You are seeking IT through the form of Sri Krishna or Shri Chaitanya. The formless is the creater of all forms and could be reached thru forms. The great Acharya said: “paratmanekam jagd beejamaadyam Nireeham nirakaaram omkaaravedyam Yato jayate` palyate` yena viswam Tameesam bhaje` leeyate` yatra viswam” “ I adore the Lord, the Supreme Atman, the One, the Primeordeal Cause of the Universe, the Actionless, the Formless, who is signified by Om, from whom it is sustained and into whom it dissolves” “ Na bhoomirna chapo` na vahnir na vayu Na chakashamaste` na tandra na nidra: Na greeshmo` na sheetam na deso` na veso Na yasyasti moortisrimoortim tamide`” “ I worship that Lord of three-fold form, who is beyond all form, who is neither earth, nor water, nor fire, nor the air, nor the ether, who has no weariness or sleep, no heat or cold, no place or dwelling” The Acharya, who argued that IT is one without a second, composed shlokas on Viswanath, Annapuna, Kali and Krishna. Shri Guru Nanak, who said IT is Nirankari, called IT Shiva and Govinda. The Acharya explained. IT is formless, at the same time cause of all forms. The great Buddha and the great Kapila( the ‘Nirishwara’ one) were attempting to realize the Truth. Call IT the Primoprdial Nature, the Narayana or Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. We all will understand that we all are trying to reach out the chaitanya, the only Chaitanya, the Primordial Energy which is abstract and at the same time concrete.
  9. Shri Guru Nanak was a great Sanatana Dharmi and reformer of Hinduism. He belong to the category of Gautama, the Buddha, Jina, who realized and the great Acharya, Sri Sankara. All tried to reform Hinduism of cateism and other superstitions that crept into Hinduism because of the vested interests and oligarchy of the Brahmin-Kshatri-Vaisya combine. The ultmate reality has no forms but at the same time is the creater of forms. The above four never claimed that they are avataras, but it is their followers who made them gods. Though worshipper of the Formless, Shri Guru Nank has chanted the name of Shiva and Krishna. The message might be that you can reach the Formless One thru forms also, if you are unable to access him in ITs Formless 'form'
  10. "O, Lord of fire and death, wind, moon and waters Creator, grandsire, and great grandsire of the world Hail, hail to Thee, a thousand salutations! We bow before thee, over and over again. Accept our homage, from every quarter, O, infionite prowess, boundless glory incarnate, O, all-in-all, pervading the universe! Whatever in flippant jest, I may have said Unknowing Thy divinity, calling in love: 'Come Krishna, Yadava, my darling friend!' Whatever I may have said to Thee alone Or before the others, whatever disrespect I may have shown Thee on the seat or couch In play or banquet,or lying side by side, I pray, forgive it all, O Fathomless Ruth! Thou art the Father of this universe Of the moving and unmoving, the Guru of all And greater than the Guru. In the worlds three None can rival or out rival Thee. O, Lord, whose power none can plumb on earth. I bow before Thee and prostrate my body, Demanding grace of Thee, Adorable Master! Bear with me as a fatherbears with his son, A friend with friend, a lover with sweetheart (11:39 to 11:45) So have mercy on me, O God of gods and Refuge of the world."
  11. I was there, in tbe Karagruha as an Anveshi. As a ticketless train traveler, I managed to get an entry. And served 14 days simple imprisonment. It was two years back, roughly. To my surprise, the criminals and innocents alike seemed to be very pious or religious. Hard core criminals (professional murders, brutal rapists), all chanting or praying or doing five time namaz...Professionals treat it as their business or profession. Still go to the jail temple or mosque every day and pray. Their visitors bring in money and they feast on sumptous food. Finally, 'justice' is bought, and their are on their profession again. Spiritually, what I understood was outside the four walls also we are in a larger jail. We are prisoners of our ego, our prejudices, beliefs and the samsara. Nobody is free. Yeah, we are living in a large jail, we are all prisoners. There might be rare exemptions.
  12. The most interesting evidence about christianity and christ(and Islam also) is found in “Bhavishya Purana” supposedly composed circ. 2nd c., about king Shalivahana (last mentioned circ. AD 80) meeting a foreigner calling himself Ishvara Putara (Son of God), Isha Masih (Isha = Isa in Arabic = Jesus; Masih = Messiah), and claiming to be born of Kanya Garbham (Born of a Virgin). About Adam & Eve ============== Veda Vyasa, in his epic, the 28th verse, 4th chapter, 1st part in the book ‘Prathisargaparvam’ says like this: - “Indriyani damithwa Yehyaathmadhyaana parayana: Thasmad Aadama naamaasou Pathnee Havyavathee smritha” Adaman and his wife havyavathy are born with all the virtues, complete control of the senses and the spiritual forbearance of the mind. God creates a captivating paradise and gifts it to Adaman to live happily. Adaman reaches beneath the tree of sin in the garden, eats its forbidden fruit, tempted by Kali disguised as a snake, resulting his carnal desires come alive, which culminates in his involving in sexual intercourse with Havyyathy. And about Jesus Joseph Christ =============================: “Ko bhavaanithi tham praaha Sahovaachamudaanwitha: Eshaputhram cha maam vidhi Kumaaree garbha sambahavam Aham Eesa Maseeha nama:” King Shaka asked “May I know, who you are!”. With apparent joy that male replied “Know that I am the Son of God. I am born in the womb of a virgin. ‘Easa Maseeha’ is my well known name”. (Bhavishya purana- Prathisarga parva, IIIrd part- 2ndchapter- 23rd verse.)
  13. My Heart Bleeds. My heart bleeds; blood, red hot blood rolls down from my eyes For, alas, and unlike you, I have a heart and the eyes To see , perceive, feel and analyse My own destiny , of by-gone days and unborn ones My heart bleeds profusely, my tears all have all dried up. For, you know, there was a golden stretch of land They called it the gangetic plain beyond the Sindhu great You got it, where the great Vyasa trod on, Where Kapil, the peerless seer composed his Sankhya; You know it was on my lap Jina and Gautama grew up It was on my banks that they enlightened ones once cherished Here was it that the great Sankara professed The grandest of Philosophies, One without a Second. Chandragupta and Asoka were my lofty sons Kalidas and Kautilya were the retina of my eyes The Greeks and the Mangols came down to me To grasp and carry lamps of wisdom back to their homes. And you know, mother Nature created my banks fertile and rich Rich with grains, cereals and minerals great I once possessed the Ganga Jal, the life of lives Synonymous with purity, nay, purity itself. And do you see my plight and predicament these days? On my banks do live the most illiterate and hungry House of learning , I have none worth the name Only degrees are sold and bought, knowledge never sought. Thugs and netas rule over my Pataliputra Thieves unheard of, guard my raj kosha Gangsters are mantries and gangsters make laws Neeti and Nyaya are there in for festive sales. And please do not come for a holy dip in me For I am impure, raped a thousand times; In Rishikesh and Hardwar they dump rotten flowers, And tonnes of ‘prasad’ every day unto me. And in Kasi to Kalighat I am the dumping ground For heads of cattle dead , and of animals like you For industrial waste and venomous chemicals That instantly finishes off my aquatic children . On my banks where the seers and scholars tread Now strolls the babas in saffron garb To satiate their stomach, as the Sankara said They malign me, defile and rape my land. I AM THE GANGA, THE GREAT EMPTYING GROUND! =anveshanam=
  14. Revered Shri Das, First of all, whatever I say is with malice toward none. I have neither any disrespect or respect to some of the philosophies or beliefs you hold so dear to your heart. And you have every right to criticise whatever I believe. And if I am convinced, I will correct myself and say so. Actually you are right when you quoted Shri Bhagwan himself: "ajnana-timirandhasya". As for my being ignorant, I do accept that. So let us believe that Rama was the Ultimate Reality himself, Ravana was a wicked Narabhoji who lived on rishies and munies. But you said: ====================================================== "It would do you well to read the Ramayana once before commenting on it." ======================================================= Here I may state that by age of 9, the entire Sundara Kandam of the great Ramanujan Ezhutthachhan was by heart to me. And I am genetically a Vaishnava, a great one at that! My grand father happened to be Vishnu, father Narayana and myself Srihari! But I think now that some genetic mutation did occur during or after my birth. Hence my prakruti has changed. Here I tell you all the (real) story of my wife. She visits every temple and prays. To the famous(and ancient) Bhairava temple she goes with a bottle of rum(because the army rationed rum she gets cheaper than the whisky and the lord will not get a hang over as army quality is certified). And brings back the ' prasad' in a bottle. Varanasi or Vaishnodevi, Manasa Devi, Chamundeswari or Kamakhya.. Everywhere she goes with equal zeal. If she comes across a banyan tree she will give it a pious salute, she prays to the great tulasi plant at least two times a day. She visits the famous Hare Krishna temple at Kailas(Delhi), says Hare Rama Hare Krishna, to the Sai twins - Sirdi and Puttapparthi- and chants "Jai jagdeesha hare, Om Saisha Hare" And if you place an idol of a frog in front of her and you, being a swami, tells her that this is one of the avataras of the great lord, she will sing, innocently, " Jaya Mandookesha Hare" At times I used to laugh at her. But ultimately, she is right, I think. IT is everywhere. Regards

  16. Rama was a great North Indian king. No doubt about that. He came from Ayodhya in those days of no means of transportation, reached upto Lanka and defeated a great king, renowned for his valor, might and bhakti. When her (cousin) sister's beautiful breasts and cute nose were cut into pieces by an indifferent and angry Lakshman. The sister complains to his imperial majesty, Shri. Ravan. Injustice and insult was done to a lady, princess Surpanakha. As a brother and as a just King, Ravan wanted to teach the Rama brothers a lesson. Sita was forcibly taken away, but not raped or force-married. She was given a place, with maids appointed to look after. The generous Ravana even blessed his enemy No. to construct a bridge, knowing well that it is to his peril. The Maryada Purushottam killed another mighty one, Bali, by shooting an arrow, hiding behind a tree. The Purushottam sent a fully pregnant Sita into the forest ( He did not even arrange for some maids or helpers for her) because he did'nt have the courage to face the public. And all he looked for was to protect his "maryada" reputation. Still, the great poet made his Hero a hero. And Ravana a villain. After all, avatars are avatars...
  17. Rama was a great North Indian king. No doubt about that.
  18. Nehru is said to have done a lot of things, and so is Vajpayee and Gandhi. We are none to judge. If there is somebody above to judge, he will surely judge based on what is right and what is not. You may criticize Nehru, Gandhi and Vajpayee of their political philosophy, their failures as a statesmen or their misrule or failure to provide right leadesrship. We are all fallible human beings. =anveshanam=
  19. How many avatarams are there incorporating the latest ones? The Sirdi avatara, the Puttaparthi Avatra, the Rajnish avatara etc are the latest. The Chaitanya avatara, the Pramahamsa avatara and many others among the recent. A new Vyasa Avatar is needed to incorporate all these avataras since Buddha and Mahavira to the sruties and smrities, puranas and itihasas. I am waiting for Vyasa Deva to be born again. One thing my lunatic mind could not understand is why all these avataras? Dharma samsthapanarthaya? The primitive homosapiens, out of awe, fear and need, worshipped natural forces in abstract. Religion was created. And religion created many gods, reformed and developed them. Sruties, Smrities, Bibles, Korans came. Philosophies were interpreted and misinterpreted. To suit the whims and fancies of vested interests. Dharma could not be established or re-established after Vamana kicked and drove a great Mahabali to Patala. Dharma remains were it was, even after one Rama annihilated the Kshatritya community 21 times and another killing a great Southern king. Even after the battle of the great Dharmakshetra, dharma did not improve. Treta, Dwapara or Kali, things remain as natural as it were. The Omniscient One who creates and conserves at-will, keeps on incarnating and re-incarnating, sending a line of prophets and saviors for ‘paritranaya sadhoonam, vinasaya cha dushkrutam’. But the real sadhoos are coming to a naught and the dushtaas are having their hey day. Not today, every day that was .The great Kalki is ruling(Muhammed of Arabia). But more powerful things we have than the khadga of the Kalki. The nuclear piles are piling up, or if you want the rasayanik or the biological way, you can get ichha-mrutyu that way. The great Kalki is being outwitted by the man it made. The Primordial Nature has IT’s ‘moola prakruti’ and ‘real’ prakruti which so far the avataras failed to find out… but still, the anveshanam was started by: “There was neither non-existence nor existence then. There was neither the realm of space nor the sky which is beyond. What stirred? Where? In whose protection? Was there water, bottemlessly deep? There was neither death nor immortality then. There was no distinguishing sign of night nor of day. That One breathed, windless, by its own impulse. Other than that there was nothing beyond. Darkness was hidden by darkness in the beginning, with no distinguishing sign, all this was water. The life force that was covered with emptiness, that One arose through the power of heat. Desire came upon that One in the beginning, that was the first seed of mind. Poets seeking in their heart with wisdom found the bond of existence and non-existence. Their cord was extended across. Was there below? Was there above? There were seed-placers, there were powers. There was impulse beneath, there was giving forth above. Who really knows? Who will here proclaim it? Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation? The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe. Who then knows whence it has arisen? Whence this creation has arisen – perhaps it formed itself, or perhaps it did not – the One who looks down on it, in the highest heaven, only He knows or perhaps He does not know.” (Rig Veda) And the anveshanam continues.. in the vedantic, saamkhyan, nyaayik or vaisheshika ways.. through the Gautama and Jina ways, the Bahawullah and the Hare Krishna ways………… Let us see where we reach.. And as the sage Ashta Vakra said, I salute: “Oh! wonderful am I! I bow to My self. None is wiser than I, who though untouched with the body, yet carry the world in Me for ever” But, still, the anveshanam continues…………..
  20. Gold glittered and outwitted the diamonds (in abundance). But gold got it's 'intrinsic' value increased to the present day standards from the time it became a legal tender(coins/money).Everything-man andmaterial- could be exchanged for gold. 'Kali Yuga' became gold's golden era =anveshanam=
  21. 1. (Meditate upon that) Effulgent One, of myriad heads and myriad eyes, from whom has come forth all the good in the world, who is this universe, Narayana, the Great Deity dwelling in the ele-ments, the Changeless, the Supreme Lord. 2. (Meditate upon Him who is) Superior to the whole world, at once He is also the whole world (in being the soul of everything in it), the Eternal, the main Stay, Support of all individual souls, (mighty) Dispeller of Ignorance……. the whole world is that Great Being. He makes use of the world, and its existence depends entirely upon Him. 3. (Meditate upon) the Lord of the world, the Atman, the Ruler of all Creatures, the Ever-existent, the Auspicious, the Im-mutable; the Narayana (who is) the Great Object to be Known, the Soul of the Universe, the Supreme Refuge. 4. Narayana is the Supreme Brahman; Narayana is the Supreme (beyond all forms), the Supreme Enlightenment, and the Supreme Self. 5. Whatever there is in this Universe, seen or heard, pervading all that, in and through them all, Narayana reveals. 6. The Infinite, the Immutable, the Omniscient, the Self, who is the end of creation; from Him has proceeded all that is good, and He shines in the heart, the inner cavity of which resembles the calyx of a lotus-bud with its face pointed downwards. 7. Below the neck, and a twelve digits figures breadth above the naval, is situated the heart; know that to be the Great Receptacle of the whole universe. 8. Wrapped with sinews, (the heart) hangs like a lotus bud ; inside the same there is a fine hole and in that all resides! 9. In that shines the Great Fire (Consciousness) myriad of myriad flames whose rays illumine all, and which therefore appears in manifold forms. He, the Imperishable, the All-knowing, eating, everything fresh, divides the food to all other parts of the body. 10. The Subtle Flame (Consciousness) rising upwards inside; It keeps the body warm, from head to foot. 11. The Bright Golden Flame, fine as an ear of corn, and comparable to the subtlest, shines like a streak of lightning amidst a dark blue cloud. 12. In that Flame sits the Great Being; He is Brahma and Siva and Indra. He is the Supreme, the Imperishable; He shines by His own nature. 13. Obeisance to Him, who has become the universe of varied forms. Who is the Supreme Brahman, the Truth Unconditioned, the Being of dark colour and also of fawny hue and with terrible eyes, and who is beyond all desire for creation. (Titreya Aranyakam) =anveshanam=
  22. There might have been many Kapilas. Not two. If you could go through both the Ishwara Kapila and Nirishwara Kapila, without favour, hatred, addictions and prejudices, you will find that both reaches the same end. " Yam saivah samupasate` siva iti brahmeti vedantino Boudha Buddh iti pramana patava karte`ti naiyyayika: Ahannityadha Jaina sasanarata: karme`ti meemamsaka: so ayam vo viddhatu vaanchitaphalam trilokyanatho vibhu: " May the Lord of the Universe, the remover of evil, whom the devotees of Siva worship as 'Siva', the Vedantins as 'Brahma', the Buddhists as 'Buddha", the followers of the Nyaya philosophy, who are clever in logic, as the "Agent", those devoted to the Jaina doctrines as "arht", the rituals of the Mimamsa school as "Karma"... fulfil all our desires" These what Sanatana Dharma teaches. All streams has to reach the Ocean, or are absorbed by the Ocean. That is the glory of Sanatana Dharma. =anveshanam=
  23. First of all, Sanatana Dharma is the only secular philosophy A more secular religion or philosophy I have never come across. It absorbed all streams, like an Ocean ought to do. Incorporated into it is diverse school of thought: Dvaita, Advaita, Monotheism, Polytheism, Vaishnava, Shiiva cults, Samkhya, Vaisheshika and Buddhist schools. And you can see a thread of unifying force through the diverse schools. And is tolerance a weakness? Think of this.. the Hindus paying tax for being a Hindu in his on land! That kind of tolerance is a weakness. That tolerance made Karnavati Ahmedabad, Ram Temple Babri Masjid. If a Krishna was there, it could never have happened. Tolerance should not make us inactive and indifferent. Tolerance may mean, for eg., the followers of alien philosophies are allowed to practice peacefully. They can teach or preach. But no conversions by force, allurement or exploitation. =anveshanam=
  24. Shriman, You said I "speak very high of a universal oneness, no distinction between life forms, but no actual application.". All I was trying to convey was eating any form is natural. Both are living beings. I have said elsewhere in this forum that there is nothing unholy or holy about human excreta or menstrual blood. It is we that give the color of beauty or holiness. Regarding my becoming a narabhoji, an excellant idea. Let me try start trying meat first(whether I like the taste of it). Then I will try it to your peril, on you! Best Regards =anveshanam=
  25. Dear Shri Prasad, Prakruti knows it's prakruti. Fool as I am, how can I know? And prarabdha, I have none. And my karma is what IT guides me: "'Tis Nature which does all actions, But the fool egoist thinks he is the doer But one who knows, friend, the true principles And divisions of the triple modes and actions And has seen that it is the modes which act On the modes-- such a man steers clear of all attachments" (3:27,28) ..of all attachments, our on addictions and prejudices.... Regards =anveshanam=
