  1. Vidya Lakshmi is not a demigoddess. She is one form of Hari's Sri sakthi. She is a feminine form of Him, so please respect. I can tolerate any insults to me, but Lakshmi Mata... As for demigods and demigoddesses, you can get some things from them, because they are actually parts of Hari (like ministers in a government), but that is not the full worship of God... >>>>> I said some of them are 'dumbest', despite their efforts at chanting etc <<<<< Anyway, I hope you will soon stop calling people dumb. It's not good to call people (especially devotees) "dumb" because Krishna loves His devotees very much. It is really not good, so for your own sake, please don't do that... My humble obiesances at your lotus feet...
  2. "If the souls that reached vaikunta fight or contront each other while serving vishnu, do they fall into other planets?" No one falls from Sri Vaikuntham... at that point you have reached parama padam, and you are with Sri Hari forever. No more cycling through birth and death... In Sri Brhad Bhagavatamrtam, it is not that our young gopa thinks that Vaikuntha is not "good enough", but it is not his place... even though he does not want to appear unsatisfied, he yearns for "his" Krishna... he runs toward lord Vishnu and tries to hug Him like a playful friend... but Vaikuntha is more formal. He is restrained from hugging Him... He also goes to Ramachandra in Ayodhya, and Krishna in Dwaraka, but still the sentiment doesn't match, so He goes on to Vraja Gopala's place... Not that any of them are less or more, but there is a place in which your heart yearns to be with Govinda... I hope this is of some use to you.
  3. I was not vegetarian before I came to Krishna... slowly and slowly these things drop away. You start thinking, "if Krishna doesn't eat it, why should I eat it?" then He starts to soften your heart, and you begin feeling mercy for the animals (by His grace). Then you start realizing that all these things make it more difficult to think, and you feel better when you don't consume them... you no longer have a taste for it at all. This is easier then quitting, and then turning to Krishna... being with Krishna is so satisfying, that you don't crave anything but being in His presence and glorifying Him...
  4. Hayagriva--- "haya means horse, greeva means neck the horse faced form of Vishnu, is the Supreme God of Vidya or knowledge and prosperity according to Vaishnavite scriptures. Any one who prays Hayagriva shall be blessed with all knowledge and wisdom. (Hayagriva is also the name of an important deity among Budhhists believed to be the fearful aspect of Avalokatishwara and chases away all ignorance). He is on par with Saraswathi in being the deity of Vidya or knowledge." Hayagrivaswamy is associated with Vidyalakshmi, one of Mahalakshmi's eight forms: Vidya Lakshmi "An illiterate man is compared to a quadruped. People worship Saraswati, goddess of learning, also known as Vidya Lakshmi, to acquire learning. Once upon a time, Devdutta, a Brahmin, brings upon himself a curse that the son he gives birth to will be dumb and mentally retarded child. When the son is born, the Brahmin names him Utadhya. Despite the father’s efforts, the son remains illiterate and dumb. The father evicts him from his house. Thus banished, the son flees to a forest and begins to cry. A kind sage, passing by, advises him to worship Vidya Lakshmi. The son, despite being dumb, manages to utter sounds resembling the praise of the goddess. Pleased with his devotion, Vidya Lakshmi showers learning upon him. "
  5. okay, time to go to work. Goodnight sakhi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!
  6. hey, I deleted it. I don't have the guts... /images/graemlins/smile.gif anyway, no need to agitate the lynch mob
  7. Oh sakhi, Gitagovindam is "dangerous" literature... He he he.....
  8. I maintain: This is the weirdest site in Internet history! When I read ILK and Vanamali's posts, I thought they were the only oddballs out here. But xxvvii's even weirder thoughts make them sound...well, almost rational! Keep them coming, I need the entertainment. ---------- If this isn't Krishna visiting me in my dreams, sitting in my heart, deep in my very being, then where is He???? Give me Krishna! I think you must have Him... I'm not going to last long without Him... don't TELL me "it's not easy, Krishna doesn't come cheap, it takes billions of births..." I'm losing it... please talk to Him for me, guestji. The world is EMPTY. It's completely empty... there is nothing that can fill the void... please tell Him, I am sooooooo not qualified for devotional service... but I can't live without His association... At least maybe He could allow me to visit Tirupati again... at least then I didn't feel He was absent...

  10. Well, we are stupid crazies... But xxvvii, I am not sure what you are talking about... What is a fatlet????????
  11. Anyway, better not to read our posts if they are so disturbing to you...
  12. Bhaja Govindam Bhaja Govindam Govindam Bhaja Mudhamate /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  13. Thinking about an object constantly will eventually lead to attachment for that object --- So if you find yourself already attached to material life (as most of us are, at least to some degree) remember the "progress of the pronoun" from I to Him... As in "I was crying because I lost everything, but HE picked me up and held me..." And then you will forget what you had lost, because you are in the arms of the Beloved, and the next time something happens, it will not hurt you, because you have Him with you... even if it still hurts, He will dry your tears, and the more time you spend thinking about Him, the more dependent on Him you become, and the less dependent on the world...
  14. >>> If you're rejected by Kr`eSna, what do you do? --- HA HA HA HA HA There is no possibility of rejection by Krishna. He lives in my heart... if I meet Krishna after death and He says, "Girl you grate on My nerves, leave Me alone..." I will not leave Him, because I have this Krishna in my heart and He is telling me something different... When the soul's only purpose is to love Krishna, and to go back to Krishna, how can Krishna reject? Krishna calls you and calls you, "Come back to Me! Come back to Me! Come back to Me!" If when you finally come, He says "I wasn't calling, it's all in your head..." well...
  15. This is totally weird. Why are you girls acting like you just came out of a mental hospital? --- It's only a mental disorder if it is debilitating... I don't feel disabled in the slightest... >> There is no need to show off, if you love Krishna, keep it within your heart. --- There are those who would attempt to kill the bhakti of others. Who will stick up for them?? Who will find them and console them??? >> but it isn't easy to become one, cuz it involves sincerity. -- I can never be like Meera, because she openly declared her love for Krishna IN PUBLIC, whereas I only have the heart to do so online, in this anonymous situation... I don't have the guts to say it in the world... I'm sure I couldn't survive the backlash... I don't know why people hate us so much... but I'm glad they do, because the more you curse us, the more we turn to Krishna for support... In my opinion it should be loudly proclaimed that no-one is yours but Krishna. If you are His, then He is yours... you love Him, He loves you... He is totally accessible by anyone. I was watching Farenheit 911 this weekend, and saw all these atrocities... an Iraqi woman crying... "We are civilians! Why did they burn my uncle's house? Where are you God??" An American woman telling how she heard her son was one of the first killed in the war... "I just dropped the phone, and fell to the ground in shock. There was no one there to hold me, so I crawled to the desk and lifted myself up..." Who will be there to hold you? Who will be there to comfort you when there is nothing left? Who is with you when you are all alone?? When the bombs are dropping? When you lose everything? When you are old and all your friends are dying? When your family leaves you in an old folk's home and "forgets" to visit? When you lose your job and you don't know how you will pay the rent or feed your children? When you reach the end of your life, who will you cling to??? His hand is there. Hold it.
  16. Wow /images/graemlins/smile.gif Venkatesha is great!!!
  17. I thought Hariharan was a name of Ayyappa Swamy...
  18. Oh, I never properly appreciated Varahaswamy... Bhumi was covered with moss and algae, and He became a boar, "not caring for His appearance"... probably to make Her feel better for not appearing in Her usual splendor before Him... You were right! You were right!
  19. Sri seshasaila garudachala venkatadri Narayanadri vrishabhadri vrishadri mukhyam Aakhyam tvadiya vasateranisham vadanti Sri Venkatachalapate thava suprabhatham... Lord Venkateshwara resides in Andhra Pradesh, and He and His reclining form as Ranganatha in Tamilnadu are the main deities of Srivaishnavism... Venkatesha is considered to be Sriman Narayana, and Tirumala, His divya desham, is Vaikuntha on earth... but He is lovingly called "Govinda" by the devotees, and if you are desirious of seeing Krishna in this life, you can find Him at Tirupati-Tirumala, because that murthy is not just a murthy, but the actual God having come to stay with His devotees... The moment you come into His presence, you will understand... Edukondalavada! Venkataramana! Govindaaaa! Goooovinda!!!
  20. Since I can see that this Caitanya has not yet taken sannyas and He is still with His loving consort, then you can well observe Him as our lovely lord Krishna, and not in the devotee mood... probably He is wearing the peacock feather to please Vishnupriya... Later He will pretend that His transcendental marriage to Her is merely a material bond, and will leave Her lost and in agony, separated from Him... and only to teach us how to love Him better... Please allow Her the pleasure of seeing Her Beloved like this...
  21. There are some very beautiful paintings of Rama and his brothers as little children done by B.G. Sharma... I have a big picture book of Ramanaya with all paintings by B.G. Sharma, but I don't think I have any on the computer... anyway I will try to find some for you... When Sri Krishna was a child, Mother Yashoda used to tell Him the story of Sri Rama just before bedtime. One night little Krishna was crying in His sleep... "Seeta! Seeta! Where are you?? Someone has taken my Seeta!! Lakshmana! Get my bow and arrows! Janaki has been snatched away!!"...
  22. I put a picture but it didn't come out I guess... I will try to find a different one...
  23. sri ram jay ram jay jay ram... Bolo Siyavara Ramachandra ki jai Pavana-suta Hanuman ki jai!
  24. Sri Venkatesha Karaavalamba Stotram Hymn to Shri Venkatesha for the support of his hand (Translation by A. Narayanaswami) O Shri Venkatesha, you who have your magnificent abode on the Shesha Hills, you of the divine form, Narayana, Achyuta, Hari, with eyes broad as lotus petals, you who protect all the worlds with a playful sidelong glance of your eyes, give me the support of your hand. 1. O Shri Venkatesha, whose lotus-like feet Brahma and other gods worship, you with the conch in your hand, whose divine hand is well adorned with the Sudarshana discus, you ocean of mercy, the refuge of all, embodiment of purity, give me the support of your hand. 2. O Shri Venkatesha, who are to be comprehended from the Upanishads, who are the pilot for all to cross the ocean of worldly life, O Shri Padmanabha whose lotus-like feet Laxmi worships, who alone make the world a holy place, O you Vishnu who remove all sins, give me the support of your hand. 3. O Shri Venkatesha, husband of Laxmi, whose innate nature is the theme of the Vedas, you who impart self-realization that takes away lust and other evils, who put down the Asuras and others of ill intent, O Janardana, Vasudeva, give me the support of your hand. 4. O Shri Venkatesha, rid me fast of the three miseries (of spiritual, material, and supernatural origin) that afflict man, all-powerful Murare, in your compassion, you with eyes like the lotus, protect me; and, O Vishnu, considering me your disciple, protect me every day; and give me the support of your hand. 5. O Shri Venkatesha, with the golden crown glittering with the nine kinds of gems, with your forehead adorned with the marking done with the musk, you with the lotus-like face resembling the moon at the full and eyes like the lotus, give me the support of your hand. 6. O Shri Venkatesha, whose gracious words bestow the boons sought by the crowd praising your glories, whose conch-like neck is adorned with a necklace studded with precious stones, the bright gems on whose shoulder ornament illumine the horizons of the compass, give me the support of your hand. 7. O Shri Venkatesha, you who have your upper arms bedecked with bracelets, who are the spirit of auspiciousness, who are adorned with shoulder ornaments, who have the lords of the serpents for wristbands on both your hands, who give (your devotees) all they desire, give me the support of your hand. 8. O Shri Venkatesha, Lord, who support the universe, ocean of compassion, I pray, in your mercy, lift me up who am sunk in the middle of the sea (of mundane pursuits); also bestow on me the auspicious outlook which is the basis for the accumulation of spiritual merit, and give me the support of your hand. 9. O Shri Venkatesha, whose handsome body is smeared with a heavenly (coloring) powder and is covered with a yellow cloth, whose brightness is like that of the morning sun, who have Brahma (the Creator) in your navel, and whose waist is tied with a cloth, give me the support of your hand. 10. O Shri Venkatesha, who have your waist well-secured with a band studded with gems, whose knees resemble mirrors wrought of the ruby, who captivate the entire world by (the beauty of) your feet, give me the support of your hand. 12. O Shri Venkatesha, whose feet are lustrous with the river (Ganga) that purifies the universe, the day I had sight of your feet, my sins and the (spiritual) darkness in my heart were all dissolved away, O sovereign Lord; give me the support of your hand. 12. O Shri Venkatesha, when you looked me over while I was in distress, with eyes full of compassion, all the enemies (to spiritual progress), lust, and other evil passions departed from me, and, merciful One, all my poverty vanished; give me the support of your hand. 13. These verses were composed by the sannyasin Shriman Nrisinha, who was like a honey-bee hovering over the lotus feet of Shri Venkatesha. Those mortals who recite them will attain to the supreme world of Visnu. 14. Thus is complete the Shri Venkatesha Karavalamba Stotram composed by Shri Nrisinha Bharati Svami, the Jagadguru of Srngeri.
