so science says that we all decendent from africa 70 million yrs ago, if so then were all africans. but how does all this science fit in with our religious history, how did it all began, for me i would like to think that the origins of human life began in india like the how the religious book tells it

Nice movie, but its diffrent to mo to comprehend a movie where the laws of nature is broken all the time, like the idol drinking alkohol and the spirits physically taking the offerings. How much is real?

i dont think theese thing are hard to comprehend, i rememebr years ago when all theese murtis use to drink milk, somepeople thought it was fake but it was very much so real, i even tried it on religious pics at home and they to drank milk............

Well maybe but such experiences don't really have much to do with devotion. They are more in the metaphysical world than the spiritual. For instance once one is lucid in a dream, fom that point it is easy to move his conscious into his astral body and enter the astral plane.

 

 

A lucid dream is still a dream and all the other figures there are creations of your own mind.

 

 

Astral projection, as we know, means we enter a plane where the other inhabitants are all "real" in the sense that the astral forms we see are all inhabited by other conscious souls.

 

 

So on the ladder of importance it is below astral projection which itself is not important to devotional life.

 

 

Now it could be if a devotee while in his astral body uses it to teach Krishna consciousness to the residents he meets there.

 

 

Krishna has His devotee missionaries everywhere. No reason to think there are no astral missions or Avatars sent to engage the low vibrating ghosts in God consciousness. Then there would be tangible devotional work going on.

i dont know. but i seem to think that i might help in spiritual development, could u not visit somewhere which is holly, or somthin like that. yes i agree that obejts in ur dreams are part of ur mind but if u think of say shree krishna then it migh be benificial. also i recall a story in the mahabharata where shri krishna , and lord balaram guru taught then and tokk them to a holly temple in the form of an astral body.or somthin like that.......i think this might have been a kind of form of llucid dreaming..i think.

Maybe so. I use lucid dreaming as an analogy to a self-realized soul walking amongst us.

intresting theory, i could see were ur coming from, but m sure someone at some point of time must have realised and would have tried to channel it to achive a higher level of devotion.

Also not sure of any hindu connection but it is a naturally phenomena to all humans. Many will have this experience and think little of it. Others will start study groups to learn more such as the one at Standford University lead by Stephen Langier (sp?)

see the weird thing about it is that other religion/ cultures have a understanding about lucid dreaming, but i find it funny that hinduisim has nothing on it. as we all know that hinduisim is a deeply spirtual religion, i just find it weird that there is no taxt explaining this at all. i wonder if it is cause in vedic astrology they put no stock in lucid dreaming they say that dreaming has no relivence and thats is just part of your imagination.

im not complaining im just not sure what direction i should take, thats all. theres always going to be a want or a need, no harm in asking for certain directions so as to assure succese

also how about forex trading..im really leaniing toward comodites and foerox trading as kind of a day job for my self, but i want to be totally independent, as in workking on my own

i also think at how intresting plant with medicinal property play a role in many religions and cultures, even in hinduisim ie soma. but i also cant help to think that the reason why we have lost this plant/ritual is cause maybe god didnt want it around anymore. i bekive this cause if u look at hinduisim it is differennt from most religion that are around today in that it has countinuesly evolved..............i guess that why hinduisim has survived for so long.

I can be happy being a billionaire, who cannot sleep properly because of work load and excessive money, and I can also be happy being poor and hand to mouth, but with a good night sleep and a vision and though to move ahead in life.

so would day trading be a good thing for me, i want to do it idependently i dont want to work for people. i did it for to long, now i would like to be independent, sort of have my own bussiness. also whats HR??

how did i know it was going to be somthin like this. but then again i think that such thing like war cannot be avoided it has to happen its the natural order of things. its not that i condone war but theese things happen, just like the war that took place during the mahabarata

You don't have any considerable reasons to worry. Get along. Life is big, this world is big. Think about it in this way, there are billions of people in this world, if we wanna know everyone, then this life would be short. Then why to hang or crib on something which is part of gone.

 

Get into some work, or business. Oil business, or business with people, consultation, HR. Or maybe just take a month off and go see the world. Don't get wasted on things like this. It's not worth wasting your precious time.

 

That's what I can say. Rest, its all on you. And remember you are in better position than many. The only Goal in my life since school was to go to Canada, but I failed drastically, been though a phase of being mentally ill and unstable and even though of giving up life, all because I can't get what I wanted, even though I got a call from UoT!. So, chill, see the world. I'm hanging in, and I know whats important is to do your job than to live with expectations. KARMA!!..

thanks it helps a little. uoft is a great school...........i always wanted to go, but it never happened. the only problem is i dont know what my job is sappose to be, i feel lost and uselessm cause i have to goal to reach

You agree that Om = Krishna, but you think meditating on Om is a grave injustice to Krishna. No, it does not make sense to me and I don't know how it makes sense to you, either.

 

But why should it make sense? If you feel that way, you feel that way. Instead of trying to find support for your line of thinking, just do what you feel like doing - meditate on Krishna in this case.

 

Either way, you will not levitate - irrespective of meditating on Om or on Krishna or anything else. That is not going to happen ever and you can be sure of that. If you disagree, ask the people who told you for proof. They will not be able to provide any, beyond stories of how someone else was doing it. And you will not be able to see this someone levitate, because he or she is not geographically accessible or they do not do it anymore.

u dont have to be so arugmentatvie about it i was just asking for some advice thats all

my family have been trying to convince me on starting to maditate on the word om, they come up with suttle way of convincing me like saying things like if u meditate on om u could achive a state were u can actually leveitate but also what i understand that when u medidate ont he word om u will one day obtain the abodes of brahaman, wich is all great but dosent apeal to me. but i dont feel this is right for me cause my loyalty is praying to lord krishna. is it possiable to meditate on sri krishna. would this be a good idea to do, if so how do i go about medetating on to lord krishna. i feel like i would be doing a great injustice and insult lord krishna by not meditating on him, and instead on om. i know that he is also the word om, but i just cant help what i feel..........does this make sense to anyone here. can any one here help me out.
