1. is a far more polite word for this than I was thinking!!

I also thought of the beef example and hey, there is a gun - This is God telling us to shoot everything that moves.

Someone needs to read Bhagavad Gita As It Is and get a better understanding of God, the encased spirit soul and freewill.

  2. joke?

If you think about it, god wants us to use this pshydeliica drug, or else he would have never created it and we would never had a chance to use it.

So if you do have lsd, or mushrooms in front of you right now, be glad and happy, that god choose you to hold this for you in front of you, he dident want you to get caught, and he truly wants you to have them in front of you, or else there are 10000 million things that can go wrong in process of getting this psi drugs.

  3. Naham vipro na ca nara-patir napi vaisyo na sudro

naham varni na ca grha-patir no vanastho yatir va

    kintu prodyan-nikhila-paramananda-purnamtabdher

    gopi-bhartuh pada-kamalayor dasa-dasanudasah

"I am not a brahmana; I am not a ksatriya; I am not a vaisya or a sudra. Nor am I a brahmacari, a householder; a vanaprastha, or a sannyasi. I identify myself only as the servant of the servant of the servant of the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krsna, the maintainer of the gopis. He is like an ocean of nectar, and he is the cause of universal transcendental bliss. He is always existing with brillance."

    (Padyavali: 74)

Typical mantra chanted during the bhuta-suddhi and is one that Lord Sri Caitanya himself chanted.

I believe it says it all.

  4. expresses a submission to the Lord and detachment from material world.

    From ISKCON education:

The sikha is a tuft of hair worn by the male devotees who otherwise have shaved heads. For thousands of years, devotees of Krishna have worn their hair in this way as a sign of surrender to the spiritual master, who is pleased to see his disciples entering into Krishna conscious life. To the public, such signs as the sikha are constant reminders that the devotees of God are present, and therefore the sikha indirectly reminds everyone of Krishna.

  5. you should be asking your questions to the place where you are wanting to go not on this forum.

With all due respects, you will get some contradicting answers some from people who do not know. Then you will have to sort out the answers and try to figure out which are correct.

Again, go to the source with your questions.

Here is a page of links to get you started. I am sure there is contact info in them also.

  6. mantras. And yes, you put fresh water in the cup in the morning, say the mantras etc and use it throughout the day. You do not throw the remaining water down the drain or in the toilet as it has been santified and should be treated with respect.

Again, this is how I was taught to do this.

  7. wash your hands with soap and warm water. You use the santified water from the acamana cup before doing anything for the deities ie offerings - you keep the cup at the altar.

You do not keep altar parapernalia in the bathroom. You have called the holy rivers to the water in the acamana cup and do not keep that in such a dirty place.

  8.

vipramukhya has damaged the image of vaishnavism so severely he ought to be deleted

This is just uncalled for meaness. I can only imagine how difficult his decision to leave must have been - the stuggle within his heart and mind.

I pray that he is living peacefully now, chanting, preaching and remembering.

From what I hear he still communicates with devotees etc. He is just not a sannyasi anymore nor part of ISKCON. That does not make him a non-devotee.

    Lighten up!

    Hare Krsna

  9. Why did the early devotees chant?

    Enthusiasm

    Why were they enthusiastic?

    Prabhupada!!!

Listen to Srila Prabhupada, read His books, chant along with Him on the japa disk. Read and listen to Lord Krsna's Pastimes. Look at His image - He is so beautiful.

If there are other devotees in your area - invite them for japa walks or namahatta programs in your home or their homes.

Just keep on keeping on. That is the best thing I can say...I have been there also.

  10. you need to take number nine of the offenses to the Holy Name into consideration here.

Don't waste you time arguing with her. Don't waste your time sitting around trying to figure out how to defeat her. This is one of Maya devi's ways of distracting you from the things you should be doing (chanting, reading etc) and will open the window of opportunity of planting doubts in your mind.

If people do not want to hear and/or only want to argue then put number nine into action and just be a nice example of a devotee. That simple action can sometimes bring people around.

Rather than arguing with them - it is better to spend your time and thoughts on chanting, reading and remembering the Lord.

    Hare Krsna
