Letter for letter in Bengali that is... ehelna. Ra would be like: I just dug out my bengali dictionary and other books, dusted them off and then double checked it against similar words (could not find Helena). The one thing that I am not sure about is the e between the h and l - should it be the full vowel or just the vowel sign as I have written it. I am thinking the vowel sign as I have it since it comes after the L but those always confused me.

I thought she asked for what people think is "hindi" actually devanagari.

it would look different in different parts of India. For example, this is how I learned Helena would look if someone in Bengal were to write it. Please excuse also my poor penmanship and also understand my knowledge of Bengali is elementary so I apologize in advance to any native speakers.

I don't live near any of the temples either so this gives me the opportunity to visit everyday now. They are still working with the cameras so sometimes they are not set up right and sometimes they will be different everyday but they will have them right soon. The other day they were working on the cameras and I had a very close up view of the devotees doing the work!!

is to worship and serve Lord Krsna for lasting relief from this ocean of material misery. Instant and temporary sense gratification - well, been there; done that; tired of it. I cannot repeat this enough - read Prabhupada's books for detailed explanations - start with Bhagavad Gita As It Is. Already read it - you say - well read it again. Once is not enough.

Here is the link so you can read on-line: Bhagavad Gita As It Is

is the best description. Srila Prabhupada gives a very detailed explanation of sanatana dharma in His intro to Bhagavad Gita As It Is. If you have a copy - read that and I believe it will clear the confusion up for you. If not, here is the on-line version for you: Bhagavad Gita As It Is

is the best to start but I really think you should be talking to your husband and asking him the questions. It is possible that to hear things here that would be contradictory to your husbands beliefs and cause much confusion. Go to your husband first.

Try Himalaya (Ayurvedic Concepts) Hair Oil. It is a very light hair oil that can be massaged into the scalp everyday and left on as long as you can before shampooing. This hair oil contains herbs etc that help to prevent fungal and bacterial scalp infections which will control itching. It also helps with hair growth, stops falling hair. It penetrates into the scalp and helps at the roots unlike most products that just sit on the hair sliming it up.

I was surprised to find that a lot of people do not know about that (read "Nectar of Devotion"!!). I even saw a pujari wearing a blue sari once!! I have also heard that this is because these are favorite colors of Radha and Krsna and should only be worn by Them.

Chapter eight for the full list of offenses to be avoided.

Verse 20: Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures. Verse 21: I am in everyone's heart as the Supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship some demigod, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to that particular deity. Verse 22: Endowed with such a faith, he endeavors to worship a particular demigod and obtains his desires. But in actuality these benefits are bestowed by Me alone. Verse 23: Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet.

My paste did not work. Please see below.

of Lord Krsna we please everyone - all the demi-gods. Prabhupada teaches us to respect the demi-gods. We are not to worship them.

is too weird. There are other oils that are better if you are really wanting to use oils. There is Brahmi oil and Amla oil plus some others. It is considered dirty for devotees to wear oil on their heads when they sleep and also you are not to wear oils when serving Lord Krsna. Easier and best is to follow Guruvani's dandruff shampoo suggestion. Ayurvedic Concepts makes a nice one.

Monotheism vs Polytheism: Islam vs Hinduism

This does not make sense... As I said he is not going to convert any of us with his arguments no matter what. -

if you just quit responding to him and he will have to talk to himself and eventually that will get as boring to him as it is to us. He is not going to convert us anymore than we will convert him (had no intention anyway) so why not do something really productive and interesting instead of beating your heads against the wall. Yawn...it is indeed boring in here. I am going back to my Srimad Bhagavatam reading. -

so you can honestly say that when Allah questions you (but then why should he question you - if he is all-knowing as God is then he would already know what you have done). So now you may rest in peace and live out the remainder of your days knowing this. Go now in peace. -

making yourself dirty by hanging out and conversing with us infidels? What would your friends think? Run run and cleanse yourself quickly and do not fall into the temptation of returning here. -
Have you considered putting an article on VNN about the flat? I have recently seen others do this for houses etc. You have no idea how badly I wish I could purchase this flat.

One thing that I have learned in dealing with people whose first language is not English is that many of the terms and phrases that we use in our daily speech is actually slang. These terms/phrases are not always understood by people of other languages as they do not necessarily learn slang. We (whose first language is English) do not often realize this and if anyone does not understand something we say - just ask. That is best thing to do rather than have a misunderstanding.

whether Mira Bai is a great devotee. The statement in question is - the guest says she merged into Krsna.
