  1. Dear guest !

this is the problem we all face. I really can relate to yo because i was so worried about it for a good while. I started practicing Krsna Consciousness and i had friends who were all monks. Of course nobody around me was interested to regulate their lifes according to KC philosophy.

I started chanting. i was a vegetarian and drug-free person before so all this was easy for me. But as most people, i had my girlfriend and we had sex, and i also masturbated sometimes.

This was 6 years ago. Now i'm initiated and i try my best to progress. But i've given up the idea of being chaste for now. I've married religiously my girlfriend to regulate things and feel better about it. Sex is sooo difficult to overcome. Also my opinion is that you shouldn't try to follow a so high standard for now. Sex desire is included in the package of the material body.

    my advice would be:

Chant any rounds you can and try to improve both on quality and quantity.

try to follow the principles of not eating meat and eggs, drink alcohol and smoke.

Sincerity is your quality so things will come very gradually. I know so much people who have taken Second initiation like me and that are struggling so much, still masturbating, still having casual sex because the desire is too strong. Of course this is not the ideal attitude, but none of us is perfect, but we try to develop this essential relationship with God, and this is important. Mercy exists and the only qualification to receive Sri Caitanya's Mercy is to be fallen.

And one last thing, don't let some devotees bring you down. I've met so many people who told me that i had no choice but to be very strict on sex and everything. But if you look closer this kind of people are struggling more than everyone else and are so insecure that they adopt a fanatic attitude.

Try to chant and be happy, that's all !!

I hope this can help and encourage you as it helped myself before. You must know that real devotee will always encourage you, no matter how fallen you are. My Guru Maharaja is always encouraging me and i can write him how i feel and he will always answer with love and kindness.

I also live in the association of materialistic people, and i have to adapt. So if you feel like writing to me, feel free, my email is silvertouch108@.fr

    Jay Radhe !!

  2. I have some discussion with some devotees that told me there will be a major change in global consciousness very soon. Some even told me it is predicted for 2012 or 2016.

Some friend told me his spiritual master read in some puranas that the message of Sri Caitanya will really reach people after a 3rd world war.

Do some of you have some vedic references about this ?

Of course i don't want this to become an apocalyptic speculation like some many crazy freaks are doing, but seriously, what do you think about all this ?

  3. I'd like to know the exact use of Purusha-sukta homas in temples.

Also i'd like to know if some of you are doing it because i'd like to buy a little kunda to do some little fire sacrifices at home.

i very attracted to it and want to prepare to do some bigger Ceremony. We have a cool book from Prema rasa but it is a little complicated, so if anybody would like to share experiences...

    Thanx !!

  4. Hey i just got a small harmonium. i got some of the songs on "gauranga.org" and as i'm a really novice musician and let's say it, i've never really had some talent at it, i'd like to know if some of you know very simple songs, in the same style of Jaya Radha Madhava or Nrsimha prayers, where you press 2 or 3 keys at the same time and change form time to time:

example: DMR then PGS... you know what i mean, very simple but beautiful songs in the same style. i really enjoy playing the 2 songs above but the others in the book downloadable from gauranga.org are too complicated for me.

    Any help welcome !!

  5. What i found interesting is this "Dear devotees in the ISKCON family and outside" outside.... i suffered from His preaching when i took initiation from Srila Narayana Maharaja, my Beloved Gurudeva, as some of His disciples i was good friends with preached me against Gaudiya Math. we kind of loose touch for some time now.

So i take it as a good lesson. i may seem hard-hearted but believe me this would be a mistake cause i really feel sad fome Him and His disciples. But Vaisnava Aparadha is there and i really think it is related. My Gurudeva is always warnong us against this great offense, never criticize ANY devotee. Never. if you feel they're doing bad things then offer you respect and walk away. but never criticize. so, as most of us, i do a lot of offenses too, but i think about more and i hope i'll stop for real one day.

Please forgive me if i said anything that have hureted you in any way. if so i beg your forgiveness.

    Sunanda dasa.

  6. hey !

    hi Andhi !!

i have all sri cds, exept her bhajan stuff. i stayed at their home last year 2 months. i was a great fan of sri, not anymore (personal reasons). anyway, i also want one day to albany and saw Kate 08, she have kids now, i still love project kate.

it's funny you talk about that !

  7. hey !

i've heared that some people, including some devotees, never eat any food nor they drink, but just get what they need by breathing exercices for years.

i'd like to do a research about it, it has a name but i can't remember, can anyone told me more about that !!?

    Peace.

  8. ... i'm a devotee, chanting 16 rounds and stuff... and i just got married to a very sweet woman who is not into KC. So what ? of course she eats prasad and her the holy names. of course it will make some effect, in 1, 5 , 10 , 30, 60 years, in the next life... please don't be a fanatical with her, don't force her to do anything. you should talk about this with her first instead of us. it's not to talk ., but a lot of devotees have no idea of the moern women psychology.breaking a marriage is more sinful than acting like a real neophyte trying to preach and force his wife in KC.KC must be fun and gradual, you just CAN'T force people into it and i'm very against it.

you have to wonder if you truly want to look like these parents forcing their kids into religion, for exemple fanatical christians. it sucks and it's not real religion in my book. what can happen ? your wife leaving and think you're a blind follower. why is so many Iskcon couples break ? you have the answer.

the other problem is sex. often if one in the couple thinks he or her is ready to give it up, not considering the opinion of the other. Marriage is regulation, and it's already a good standard. he desires will gradually go if you try not to be obsessive. at like 60 you'l be free with no frustration i think.

i say it again, i'm very against forcing. you ca write me at any moment at silvertouch108@.fr

    peace.

  9. yeah thanx for your answer, i took initiation from Narayan Maharaj because even if i like a lot Iskcon devotee i didn't want to be a part of this institution because of many problems in the past. but i have nothing against Iskcon sincere devotees. also, we have also our fanatic devotees, but i just feel like the monk life is not for me, an that sometimes some devotees are too preaching in this way: "give up everything..." i know that's the goal, but it must be very gradual to be effective. i'm materially educated, and i need more to be convinced that simplist arguments by devotees who don't have an idea how to communicate with women, or people just having a different life (working life for example). thanx God, i was preached by some young devotees, skateboarding, into punk music, not fanatical...

  10. i'd like your opinion:

i'm a devotee, chanting 16 rounds... i live in a flat with my wife, studying, working... but when i'm in association with devotees i often think of them as fanatics, very into rituals... i had an indian boy at home for 1 night, and he was telling me what i had to do all the time. i was so upset.

when i took initation, after a few days i couldn't stand being around devotees always telling me what to do all the time. i mean, i'm not some some freak, just western educated boy, but i think we have a problem always pointing other devotees. i would never live in a temple, it's just too heavy. i'm so good at home with my deities, what do you think about that ?
