  1. haribol!

My parents in law gave me a Tulasi plant and since She's here, i notice she's loosing some leafs and get dry.

I think maybe i gave Her too much water. I've read soem topics about it on the net, but i'd like to have advice from devotees here.

I live in France, and the winter is coming. This evening i'm going to buy a artificial light for plants to give Her a artificial Sun bathing. Can i keep her under this lamp day and night in the beginning to strenghten Her or is it important for Her to follow the natural cycle of day and night ? i have no idea.

Also, for 3 days, i didn't gave her water, but i'm thinking to resume soon, with just 3 drops a day from the acamana cup.

Any advice to give her more vital force is welcome

    Thanks !

    Sunanda

  2. Oh, thank you ! you're welcome !

I once wrote about it to mt Gurudeva, Srila Narayana Maharaja, and He told me that sometimes crazy thoughts would come, but after time of practice it will go away.

Yes, it is exactly like the Tourette's syndrom i think. I supposed it is also because we are forcing ourself to try to have devotion we don't have. Then, our bad side takes revenge and trow this gross things into our mind. The more you want it to diseappear, the more it comes. I gave up offering my food by mantra for a while since this and i just mix it with maha-prasadam because i can't do the offering procedure without have these things coming and i feel so bad.

Still, i think it is a very thin thread on which we have to find our place, by keepin it up and at the same time not going 'too far too quick' in our practice, otherwise we are experimenting frustration and may end up becoming worse than before we started the path of KC.

I really appreciated sharing these thoughts with you :)

    with all my love

    din hin

  3. Haribol,

I decided to bring it here because it is a problem i have and it seems like some other have it too:

Many times when i offer food or chanting gayatri, some offences are coming in my mind, like insult toward Sri Sri Radha Govinda, in the form of gross vocabulary.

I'd like to know if it happens to some of you also. When it happens i really feel disturbed because i feel like i'm making big offence. If i offer food and that happens, i feel like my offering is spoiled, for example.

Some devotee told me it happened to them also, and that bhutas linving inside of you are doing that.

Any light, sharing on this subject will be greatly appreciated

    LOVE

  4. Haribol !

I'd like to know if the site www.shaligram.com sells authentic salagramas and if i can order from them ?

I'm diksa initiated and i'd like to know if one can worship a salagrama very simply and how, if any of you do so i'm curious to know.

I'm thinking about a Giri Govardhana shila, what do you think ? what is best for Gaudiya Vaisnavas ?

Thank you very much in advance.

  5. Haribol !

My daughter is 4 months old and has been drinking only her mother's milk since now. As my wife is about to go back to work, we'll have to feed our baby with milk for babies, which is mixed with grains or cereal stuff.

I'm wondering how should i do, as we have no priest available around. I have diska initiation, so i was thinking about doing this very simply, mixing the milk with a mahaprasadam grain of rice and then giving her like this.

Any idea or experience about this would be welcome.

    Thank you in advance

Well, Jadurani saw me in L.A. in 1975 and asked me if I could come to her studio and pose for a painting with my shirt off.

My bhakta leader wouldn't let me do it.

So, for you guys out there that don't know about me, I can tell you that Jaduarani wanted me to pose as a Yamaduta in her painting of Ajamila.

So, now maybe you guys understand that when you get me mad you had better be afraid.............very afraid.......:D:rofl:

    (just a little joke)

That is a very good one ! :)

  7. Syamarani dd is also known as Jadurani dd, she's a disciple of SP and Syamarani is a sweet nickname given by Srila BV Narayana Mhj.

She's the painter of most beautiful paintings in Vaisnava books. She's following Srila BV NM at the festivals and that's why they say, meet Lady Syamarani

I keep complete fast (i.e. without any food and water) on all ekadashis.

Did it purify my body? Don't think so. :) I am sure that my body is still impure. More fundamentally, what exactly is meant by purified body?

I have read that on ekadashis, you should not sleep. Sorry :( . That I am not able to follow. I can keep fast so long food is concerned. But I do sleep.

Thank you but you don't answer my question...

  9. Radhe Radhe dear fellows !

I was wondering if anyone of you tried this technique of fasting on bread and water, like they do in the Catholic church.

I know we GV followers are used to nirjala-fast or fast on just fruits or juices but...

I was wondering if this kind of fast is purifying for the body and if you can lose weight with this. Because fasting on fruits for several days is difficult and i think it would be easier with bread.

Any experience to share, any alternative to propose (herbal tea and bread, rice only...) ??

    Thank you in advance.

    Sunanda

  10. Haribol !

Does anyone know about Bhakti Carana Babaji !?

I'm looking some info about Him. He passed away some time ago. Some sannyasi friend of mine told me he was a Maharaj who gave mercy in the following way: He took people in His arms and everyone who experienced this (including my friend) burst into tears.

    Does anyone know !?

    Thanks in advance !

Or how do you know which guru to trust or whether to trust any guru? And what if that trust is betrayed in some form later after you've become a disciple? For instance, what if he succumbs to lust, or you find out he's not as perfect as you thought he was?

What would you do then? How would you feel?

Well, if your guru falls down, it means he wasn't a pure devotee, so you can take another one. Better is to take your time to choose. First pray to Krsna that he will send you a bona-fide guru.

I'd like to add that you can have very special interactions with your guru, like in dreams for example. There are a lot of people that will not be able to bring you back to God because they don't have the power to do it, still they are accepting to be worshipped as gurus. Be very careful in your choice and i wish you all the best.
