  1. Hare Krishna If I say to somebody hey chant you raskal!, and he does am I a siksa GURU, or just spreading KC, using the word GURU seems a bit much, or maybe not, what say devotees?
  2. He is devotee of Lord Ramachandra, there are 2 sai baba's.
  3. Also I find, when something is Easy to get, like just chant! we think oh so easy, but when we cannot for some reason we get so anxious and think oh krishna PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, allow me to chant, anybody know if this is seperation mood exhibited by Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu (jaiiiiiiii) Once I begged Nitai-Gaura and said please allow me to chant, and without offences, I felt grateful to chant, instead of taking it for granted, and being like 'i'll chant tommorow' yeah right.
  4. His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada: "Gaura-Nitai can be established anywhere, and it is simple to worship Them. Simply chant before Their Lordships. He doesn't mind that you haven't decorated very nicely, but if you chant and dance, He is very pleased." /images/graemlins/grin.gif ==
  5. It might be a good idea for us to hold the ideal of being a real devotee out ahead and above us as an aspiration. Thats sounds like something you would say, could you expand a little please?
  6. at home. I understand the pic of gaura-nitai is same as diety in the temple, please advice me, as Prabhupada said to do.
  7. Can devotees have a superiorty complex, that we are above, and in that way, are offended VERY easy?
  8. cheats! I would think of it more like 'tips', Guru has all the 'tips', end game.
  9. Teachings of Queen Kunti Chp10 (excerpt) If we waste our time striving for material improvement and forget to chant Hare Krsna, that will be a great loss. Therefore Krsna says, ami-vijna, ei murkhe 'visaya' kena diba (Cc. Madhya 22.39): "A rascal may ask some material prosperity from Me in exchange for discharging devotional service. But why shall I give him material prosperity? Rather, whatever he has I shall take away." /images/graemlins/ooo.gif When our material assets are taken away, we become very morose. But that is the test. That was stated by Krsna Himself to Yudhisthira Mahaaja. Yudhsthira Maharaja inquired from Krsna, "We are completely dependent on You, but still we are suffering materially so much. Our kingdom has been taken away, our wife has been insulted, and our enemies attempted to burn us in our house. How can this be so?" Krsna replied, yasyaham anugrhnami harisye tad-dhanam sanaih: "Yes, that is My first business. If I especially favor someone, then I take away all his sources of income and place him into great difficulty." In this way, Krsna is very dangerous. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif I have actual experience in this connection. I do not wish to narrate this whole story, but it is a fact that I received Krsna's special favor in this way. When I was twenty-five years old, my Guru Maharaja, my spiritual master, ordered me to go preach. But I thought, "First of all I shall become a rich man, and then I shall use my money to finance the preaching work." I had good opportunities to become a very rich businessman. An astrologer even told me that I should have become as rich as the wealthiest man in India. There were very good chances. I was the manager of a big chemical factory. I started my own factory, and the business was very successful. But eventually everything collapsed, and in this way I was forced into the position of carrying out the orders of my Guru Maharaja. When all my material assets were taken away, then I approached Krsna, saying, "You are the only shelter." Therefore Krsna is akincana-vitta, the property of the materially impoverished. When one is bereft of all material opulences, then one turns to Krsna. And now I am realizing that I have not lost but gained. So to lose material opulences for Krsna's sake is not a loss. Rather, it is the greatest gain. When one becomes akincana, having nothing to possess, Krsna becomes one's only riches. Expressing this understanding, Narottama dasa Thakura says: /images/graemlins/smile.gif ha ha prabhu nanda-suta, vrsabhanu-suta-yuta karuna karaha ei-bara narottama dasa kaya, na theliha ranga-paya toma vine ke ache amara "Krsna, but for You I have nothing to claim. I have no possessions. You are my only possession, so please don't neglect me."
  10. Teachings of Queen Kunti Chp8 (excerpt) The Krsna consciousness movement is giving all facilities so that people may come here, chant, dance, live very peacefully, take krsna-prasada, and be happy, but people will not accept it. That is called misfortune. Caitanya Mahaprabhu, portraying the people of this age, therefore said, "I am so unfortunate that I have no attachment for chanting Hare Krsna." Lord Caitanya prayed (Siksastaka 2)
  11. Srila Prabhupada:- Letter to: Pusta Krsna, Hyderabad, 23 March, 1973(exceprt) We can avoid idle conversation and utilize our time in the spare moments for studying slokas from the Gita and Bhagavatam. Practically I have given you more than enough for 50 years at one sloka daily. If we can simply read one sloka daily, that is step by step progress. I said it long ago, that we are trying to make Brahmanas from anywhere in the world. We can offer the intelligent person the opportunity to be trained up in the highest spiritual knowledge and train him up as a preacher himself. That is a very attractive offer, so in your traveling SKP you can preach like that, and quote some important slokas from our books and wherever you go you will be respected and you can recruit some solid devotees for pushing on this movement. So kindly go on with your program.
  12. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada: Conversations: Darsana, June 28, 1971, San Francisco (excerpt) You should utilize these fruits and flowers for Krsna and be happy. Don't slip down. That is my request. Whatever I could do, I have done. Now it is up to you to spread this movement all over the world. Don't go away. There is some tendency, somebody. Therefore, I ask you, no. This is all nonsense. This is maya's peeping, "Why you are working so hard for a sentiment, chanting and dancing? Come on, take to service and be happy with your wife and children." This is maya. This is maya. Letter to: Ananda, San Francisco, 3 April, 1969 (excerpt) Don't feel yourself to be alone because Krishna is always with you. Krishna is always with every living entity as Supersoul, and to His devotee especially He talks and gives instructions how to attain the perfectional stage of meeting Him. So don't feel alone. Always chant whenever possible, read our books, and there will be no great difficulty. Morning Walk, March 22, 1976, Mayapura Prabhupada: Yes. That is simple. "You rascal, you give up whatever you have learned, you chant Hare Krsna." Don't say "rascal," but indirectly (laughter), that "Whatever you have learned, it is all nonsense." Sakalam eva vihaya durat, "You give up everything, kicked out, and simply become adherent to Caitanya." This is our preaching. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  13. Just a thought: Lord Krsna makes the Earth move in orbit around the sun, He creates the oceans/land/animals/humans, everything in exsistance is because of that cowherd boy GOVINDA.. yet He cannot help me. (u should be laughing by now)
  14. can't believe you've come back. what did you think prabhuji nobody would notice you'd left?! Next time leave us a note! all association is great esp, with humble and tolerant devotees as yourself, far out!
  15. sorry, all guests can now post at will lol.
  16. Thats an amazing cut/paste, more! Thankyou for the Puport from SB, heres the link for all: http://srimadbhagavatam.com/3/15/25 At the end of the Puport His Divine Grace says: In the Caitanya-caritamrta it is said that if one does not develop these symptoms while chanting Hare Krsna, it is to be understood that he is still offensive. Caitanya-caritamrta suggests a nice remedy in this connection. There it is said in verse 31, Chapter Eight, of Adi-lila, that if anyone takes shelter of Lord Caitanya and just chants the holy name of the Lord, Hare Krsna, he becomes freed from all offenses. http://caitanyacaritamrta.com/adi/8/31 At the end of the Purport His Divine Grace says: Therefore one must first take shelter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu by chanting sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu-nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. By serving Gaura-Nityananda one is freed from the entanglements of material existence and thus becomes qualified to worship the Radha-Krsna Deity. jaya nitai-gauranga! JAYA PRABHUPADA!
  17. "so forget the concepts of inside and outside, soul and matter when you are speaking of spiirtual world" Thankyou, this was what I was needing, in the spiritual world everything is different, I sort of forgot this (oops)! I am lately getting a lot of questions, like some sort of Jnana-Yogi, which I don't like very much, indeed the answers are there in Prabhupada books, but then ppls who read them also have the answers! The Guestji above, is I think talking about different relationships Devotee have with KRSNA, i.e friendship/mother/father etc. Guestji!
  18. Hare Krishna, Pamho, AgtSP/ The spirit soul is minute (10,000 tip of hair), very small, so compared to a full-blown body (spiritual), it is small, we are The Soul, so just a though, am i complicating things? I should just think the soul needs a body whether material/subtle...spiritual, So, the soul enter a spiritual body, provided by KRSNA, but our soul is still there, it doesn't like merge into the spitirual body, i think this is true, what do you think?
  19. Or direct me to where I could find out, please Hare Krishna
  20. I think also, i maybe wrong, the person who went to the temple the first time, might have been tested by krishna, just look at the reply from the 2nd devotee, the trials and tribulations he had to go through! suck it up brother, get to krishna again /images/graemlins/smile.gif Very inspiring letter though, ty for posting it here krsna.
  21. Srimad Bhagavatm:4.20.16 PURPORT by His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada: Lord Vishnu was very pleased with Maharaja Prthu's good character and behavior and offered him a benediction. The Lord openly says that performing great sacrifices or undergoing the austerities of mystic yoga practice cannot satisfy Him. He is pleased only by elevated character and behavior. But these cannot develop unless one becomes a pure devotee of the Lord. Anyone who has developed unalloyed, unflinching devotional service unto the Lord develops his original good qualities as spirit soul. The spirit soul, as part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, has all the good qualities of the Lord. When the spirit soul is contaminated by the material modes of nature, one is considered good or bad with reference to the material qualities. But when one is transcendental to all material qualities, all the good qualities come out. These qualities of a devotee, twenty-six in number, are listed as follows: (1) kind to everyone, (2) does not quarrel with anyone, (3) fixed in the Absolute Truth, (4) equal to everyone, (5) faultless, (6) charitable, (7) mild, (8) clean, (9) simple, (10) benevolent, (11) peaceful, (12) completely attached to Kåñëa, (13) has no material hankering, (14) meek, (15) steady, (16) self-controlled, (17) does not eat more than required, (18) sane, (19) respectful, (20) humble, (21) grave, (22) compassionate, (23) friendly, (24) poetic, (25) expert, (26) silent. The Lord is satisfied by development of the transcendental qualities of the living entity and not by artificial performance of sacrifices and mystic yoga. In other words, unless one is fully qualified to become a pure devotee of the Lord, one cannot expect to be liberated from material entanglement. ======== Do any devotees know, where in the Caitanya Caritamrita, it talks about 26 qualities of devotees, I have tried searching, but with no luck, thx in advance. Hari!
  22. All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey, blah blah blah Krishan dreaming. Goloka!
  23. http://www.asitis.com/2/59.html The embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment, though the taste for sense objects remains. But, ceasing such engagements by experiencing a higher taste, he is fixed in consciousness. The Path of Perfection Chp10 "The embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment, though the taste for sense objects remains. But, ceasing such engagements by experiencing a higher taste, he is fixed in consciousness." A doctor may tell a diseased man, "Don't eat this. Don't eat that. Don't have sex. Don't. Don't." In this way, a diseased man is forced to accept so many "don'ts," but inside he is thinking, "Oh, if I can just get these things, I'll be happy." The desires remain inside. However, when one is established in Krsna consciousness, he is so strong inside that he doesn't experience the desire. CC:Antya-lila.2.118 Purport The senses and the sense objects are so intimately connected that the mind of even a great saintly person is attracted to a wooden doll if it is attractively shaped like a young woman. The sense objects, namely form, sound, smell, taste and touch, are always attractive for the eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. Since the senses and sense objects are naturally intimately related, sometimes even a person claiming control over his senses remains always subject to the control of sense objects. The senses are impossible to control unless purified and engaged in the service of the Lord. Thus even though a saintly person vows to control his senses, the senses are still sometimes perturbed by sense objects.
  24. BELIEVE IT! well? no? why not? oh you know better. Dooh stupid ego.
  25. what can I do to change myself? To change my way of thinking, and viewing at things? Associate with devotees, who are positive, try to see the difference, between devotees who inspire you, and devotees on 'your' level. I have aksed/begged whatever you may call it, help from devotees, and been truthfull about my faults, its does help, and I also on Gaura Purnima realized my complete inability and imperfections, and how I NEED Mercy of Guru & Gauranga. Anyway, you know whats coming next: 'just chant':0
