  1. Just as you take a handicap in sports, you take a handicap in life for the same reason. Equalization.

Suffering burns off bad karma faster. It gives you a faster way to pay down the account. So when you watch the evening news and all the suffering masses you see there, they too are are paying off their accounts faster, and they are also teaching those that watch them and those that assist them, the fine art of compassion.

The road to God is paved with compassion.

  2. When you are locked into an identification with a form, you have set rules and limitations.

When you are locked into identification with the formless, there are no rules or limitations.

This is why it is far easier to explain God to a young child. They don't have the decades of belief fencing them in. They are open, and willing to entertain possibilities. They'll judge later, but for now, they enjoy the innocence that life brings. They are in a constant state of bliss because of it.

To enter the kingdom, you must become like a child once again.

    Feel more. Think less.

  3. Alive but not in the way you understand life.

Physical matter is crystallized consciousness. It has lowered it's frequency to the point it becomes matter. Not unlike the way water can become ice.

There is still a wonderful dance of particles in and out of the thoughtform that gives it shape. It can be a planet or a rock. Substance is the same. The level of "life" within something is dependent upon it's physical density.

There is a correlation between density and the level of "awareness" in non living forms.

In life forms, the awareness comes from a concentration of conscious energy particles we would call a soul. It has the ability to be self aware and move independent of it's surroundings. It is also endowed with the power of creativity. These are the "god" particles. They have the highest frequency, and can manipulate all particles below them.

I often refer to the moon as "grandmother moon".

  4.

If we have to see and know and hit on the right questions (which imply the answers) then we become our own gurus.

The whole system is rigged and self-justifying. Ironically because we are accountable for the guru then the guru is freed from accountability. That is, the person with the responsibility, authority and divine knowledge gets off scott free.

Pay no attention to the world in front of your eyes.

The guru puts nothing into your spiritual journey. The guru is your birthing partner. The guru helps bring out what is already inside.

    Silly Wabbit. :)

  5.

So our spiritual life depends on chance and is very precarious, complicated and uncertain. Human guru supposed to reflect divine. Strange system.

It depends on being awake. Nothing more.

How much can you see? How far can you see? Do you see with the eyes or the heart?

All of these contribute to your ability to make decisions. The more you know, the more refined the decision. People who cannot see very well are easy to pick out in any country. Their lives are on auto-pilot. They move according to the herd and don't ask much in the way of questions.

Then there are those who DO ask questions. The entry level of this is first manifested in the world in the ways of science and engineering. What makes things work? What can I create? Most of the great deeds of mankind are recorded in this sphere of action.

The next level up is spiritual. What is God? What is love? Who am I ?

What am I missing that I can't complete this circuit? Here religions are born. Philosophy. The ability to reflect is brought to a tighter focus.

The soul is getting ready to make a leap into a world in knows to exist, but can't remember seeing. One of the first things that occurs to the individual with this new found awareness, is the need of a guide. Its a pretty strange land, and you're more than a little intimidated by what you see.

The first guide for most people is the faith they are born into. It becomes a womb in which you grow as a child, at least until you start to ask questions. It you never ask questions, you become one of the faithful, and follow the path you grew up with.

If you do ask questions, there are many who will use this opening to offer their services. It is up to you to choose the guru. At least on the surface. If you strike a cord with a guru, they may linger in the shadows for years as they watch you mature. You might have to endure a few false ones before you get there.

You're never alone on a spiritual path. Just be mindful that that it's all maya. It moves as you move.

  6. It is believed by some that the guru sheds holy particles.

By washing the guru's feet, which are seen by many as highly charged spiritually, you get a concentration of these particles in the water, and by drinking it absorb they qualities they carry.

It is also symbolic. To wash the feet of anyone is long held to be a sign of great respect and love. This goes back to ancient times. It can also be regarded as symbolic of surrender. Either to a spiritual master or the leader of an advancing army.

  7. Gurus are human. Plain and simple.

Despite what they eventually become, they all start out just like you. A rough diamond. Until the last facet has been applied to make the diamond perfect, imperfection will exist in them.

It is those trace imperfections that give them the ability to be as human as you are, and speak to you from that point of view.

Thats hard thing to do if you're a deity with blue glowing skin. People will pay more attention to your form than your message.

Here in this world, God must dress as a human.

  8. Ultimately, the messengers of God are all too human and fall to the temptations that come along with this world.

But they get back up, dust themselves off, and try again. Something was learned. Nothing was wasted.

You have to use your own power of discrimination to wade thru this part of maya, because even gurus are a part of it. Choose the best you can and leave the rest be. Learn from mistakes and keep pushing forward.

  9. Only if the word is spoken.

Once it is enshrined on paper, its fair game to anyone who wants to have a go at it. Its already dead, so it won't put up much of a fight.

Once a word has been written down, you've killed it and mounted it's head upon the wall of your mind.

Only when you can have interaction with a living guru do the words live.

They become a living "word of God." The content of all holy books is written in their hearts already.

Do you want to drink from the pure mountain stream, or wait and drink from the lake where everyone else does?

  10. Time began when "God" made the first creation.

From an unmanifest God came the first manifestation. Brahma, Krishna. Words are not so important as the idea represented. It was of the same substance as God, but has an identity of it's own. Much like how simple animals divide themselves to reproduce.

This creation has all the powers of creativity as the source. It is from this creation that we were created from as humans. We would refer to this force as God, our creator. Likewise, we are of the same original substance, but in a much diluted form.

We're mostly dirt, animated by a tiny spark of divine fire. We have in turn created the world around us that you see. Humanity lacks perception, and this is reflected in the way this world is constructed. Look around you. Humanity struggles with the simplist of things.

This is a world of children. Baby gods. Who will someday grow up and return to their home. Their source. They'll leave their mud people dollies behind them when they do.

  11.

So they see family- equality? no? sama-darshana ?

Where is the question of surrender/dominance? Of absolute control over another human being?

What they see is younger sisters and brothers in need of a little mothering. There is no question of selecting one and not another. There is absolute equality. Special attention is given to both the gifted and the diasabled.

They're far from home and lost in a world they can't find their way out of.

Since you know the way home, you ofter to point the way. It is up to each one to accept or deny the offer. No time limit. Stay here and play as long as you like. But sooner or later, the memories of home will make you homesick, and the journey begins to get back there.

Surrender is nothing more than trading desire of the flesh for one of the spirit. You realize you've wasted your time running in the wrong direction and now you are willing to try another direction. Under guidence.

Dominance is the way of an earthy person, with earthly intentions. They will gain only earthly results.

  12. The road to God is open to all who are willing to tread it.

There are those who have traveled it before and know the way. They are the true guru. It is their love to serve humanity as a whole. No more distinction of race, or class, religious belief. They only see a family. A flock that needs tending.

When you are reborn in spirit, you become a nursemaid to the human race. When compassion blooms fully, it engulfs all all things, and pays no attention to the lines that divide things in the mental "material" world. Love becomes unconditional.

Ideas of "self" are still present, but you now utilize whatever talents you had in life to the the good of the whole rather than the self. You don't deny self, you form a dual citizenship with the world and the divine.

You become an ambassador to another world they have a hard time comprehending.

You have to be the plow that splits the hard earth.

When you're on a hill with so few people, there is some amount of difficulty in describing what you see. quote by xexon

yes for sure. and that hill can be a really lonely place sometimes...I am glad to be a transcendent being implanted deeply in earth mostly these days (occasionally with head in the clouds of my own ego). best place to learn the science of love I feel planet earth. The lofty heights are charming, the siddhis are enticing...knowledge is deep....but the inner yearning for simplicity will always bring us home hey:pray:

to get a glimpse of god as a simple being is something I am real hungry for. That is what I love about Gaudiya Vaisnavsim, the deepr one goes the simpler it appears to be so. i dont care if the gaudiya sages are right or wrong, but goodness its simple!

If you want to see God in human form, look into the eyes of someone who needs you. Really needs you.

It might be an old lady fallen in the streets or a lost child, but when you first make eye contact with them, there I am also.

Mental processes push into the background, and for that fleeting moment, two hearts have become as one. When they pull back apart after the emergency has passed, you'll both walk away with that memory of being one in that moment.

Now imagine what thats like when you make eye contact with God.

You may walk away with something other people don't understand.

    But thats okay too.

It wasn't for them, unless you wish to share it.

  14. What was once knowledge stored in the brain is now nectar stored in the heart. The heart sees in a way the brain cannot. It never tires at looking at what it sees. The human part of me makes a humble effort to describe what it sees.

When the heart becomes open and it is able to "see", books close.

I make no claims of being able to see with complete clarity, but what I do see is beyond my ability to put into words. Another reason books close.

Words only have so much worth. It is direct experience that teaches you the things that cannot be written.

It is direct knowing based upon your ability to see with the heart. It illuminates all that it focuses on. And it reveals details and depth that the physical eyes cannot.

    What book can do this?

  15. The mind, thinks itself apart from the creator. It then proceeds to spin a world around you based on this principle. Thinking takes priority over feeling. "Satan" now rules.

The mind has no range in the spiritual realms. It cannot "feel". This is it's hell. And the world it creates without feeling is cold and harsh and calculating.

Only when the contact with the heart is restored does the mind move out of the driver's seat.

The result of which is a person who feels all of creation. And ultimately, even the line between creator and created fades away.

  16.

A book is a medium to store printed words. This website and this page is an electronic media and it stores data as words. So what does it matter what the media or medium is? Whose authority should we accept, that is the question? Should we accept your authority, who are you and what is the basis for what you are saying for surely you have robbed thinkers of the past and present from the books that you have read. Were you there and did you here Shankara? Yet your paraphrasing his Bhasya - his words. You may not even know it, so many are taking credit. And now you are taking credit by not presenting an authority here. Yet on the thread, The Avadhuta Gita of Dattatreya, you are clearly using that book as authority. So your argument about books does not fly, and you probably read it in a book anyway!

I didn't use a scripture as an authority. I used it as an example. It has no authority other than what you chose to give it. You already know how I feel about scripture.

I don't want you to accept what I say. I want to to prove it for yourself when you get to the same place. But it you don't accept the possibility of it, you will never know it. You will never strive for it.

And I want you to, because I love you.

I'm not interfering with your free will, I'm only giving you more options to express it.
