The Gospel of Ramakrishna is a huge hardback book of over 1000 pages.

It does not come in a paper back version, but there is a very good

abridged version available, which usually sells for about half as much.

It is also hard back. It contains a lot of what is in the big book, and

is still around 600 pages or so. Hope this helps! Jai Thakur

My copy of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna - Abridged was $5 when bought

new in 1974. It is "Translated into English with an Introduction by

Swami Nikhilananda" and printed in the US. The copyrights are 1942,

1948, 1958, by Swami Nikhilananda. I believe the New York

Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center was the publisher. The Library of

Congress Catalog # is 58-8948. Tracey you might check the used book

stores-sellers and ask for info related to above as Steve mentioned.

Reading and re-reading this book is a source of joy.

i was amazed by the prices on amazon, as my hard copy of my abridged

edition has $5.00 printed on the jacket ... purchased about 25 years

ago. well, i guess it's not amazing after all.

 

i wonder if you would be getting the correct book from one of the USED

sellers, who have prices more appropriate, like $4.90 for what they

call the condensed version -- i wonder if that is the same book as

mine ... which has on the cover "abridged version."
