Pankaja_Dasa 1 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 I heard a lecture that devotee said Jesus Christ suffered on cross becuase of karma. He said like because he was saying about Karma. Maybe he was making an analogy. I am shocked.
Guest guest Report post Posted July 19, 2004 Are you saying it was His karma or the karma of His followers? Big difference.
shambu 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." [Marc 10. 42-45] To suppose that Jesus "suffered" on the cross because of his own sins, seems like a blasphemous statement to me, as long as you would regard Jesus as a devotee. And taken the fact that only a devotee can truly recognize another devotee, the "devotee" who said this would be no devotee at all. I think you must have misunderstood. Did he refer to the "world-karma" or something?

Kulapavana 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 sometimes the suffering of Jesus on the cross is compared to a Vaishnava guru suffering due to accepting many contaminated disciples. other karmic angles are probably just a speculation. the easiest thing is to ask the devotee making such statements to explain them to you.
