Is that so? So, if Bhakta X is a very good book distributor, and Bhakta Y is envious of him, Bhakta Y can't work extra hard to become a better book distributor, thus dovetailing his envy?

Yeah, good point, I did not write it. Everyone is envious in the material world. When you think about it and read how lust, anger, greed and envy conditions us all, what Gita devi dasi writes seems incorrect.

Well, thanks. I guess the joke's just between the two of us now.

Don't the Gopis get jealous of each other at times (while, at other times, they aren't jealous because Krishna is expanding Himself to dance with each of them)? Doesn't it lead to "transcendental competition"?

Wasn't there a story here on Audarya recently about the flowering tree, Queen Rukmini, and Queen Chandravali (was it?)?

"Envy, or matsarya, is the only emotion, which cannot be dovetailed in serving Krsna." Really it's enviousness of Krsna which cannot be devotional service or bhakti which is meant to please Krsna, anukulyena. That means she was actually off point.

When Jarasanda praised Krsna as a very religious person for holding the gopis’ clothes for them while they stood naked, this so-called glorification was actually an insult because it was said with matsarya.

Jarasanda was speaking sarcastically, out of envy, so he wasn't really praising Krsna but blaspheming Him.

Yes you are correct. She is refering to the demons in Krishna lila (which are really devotees just playing the part of demons)

Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta Madhya 9.361

mātsarya — envy; TRANSLATION

Please hear the transcendental pastimes of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu with faith and devotion. Giving up envy of the Lord, everyone chant the Lord's holy name, Hari.

Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 5.14.27

mātsarya — envy;

TRANSLATION

In this materialistic life, there are many difficulties, as I have just mentioned, and all of these are insurmountable. In addition, there are difficulties arising from so-called happiness, distress, attachment, hate, fear, false prestige, illusion, madness, lamentation, bewilderment, greed, envy, enmity, insult, hunger, thirst, tribulation, disease, birth, old age and death. All these combine together to give the materialistic conditioned soul nothing but misery.

PURPORT

The conditioned soul has to accept all these conditions simply to enjoy sense gratification in this world. Although people declare themselves great scientists, economists, philosophers, politicians and sociologists. they are actually nothing but rascals. Therefore they have been described as mūḍhas and narādhamas in Bhagavad-gītā (7.15):

na māḿ duṣkṛtino mūḍhāḥ

prapadyante narādhamāḥ

māyayāpahṛta-jñānā

āsuraḿ bhāvam āśritāḥ

"Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, lowest among mankind. whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons, do not surrender unto Me."

Due to their foolishness, all these materialists are described in Bhagavad-gītā as narādhamas. They have attained the human form in order to get released from material bondage, but instead of doing so. they become further embarrassed amid the miserable material conditions.

Therefore they are narādhamas, the lowest of men. One may ask whether scientists, philosophers, economists and mathematicians are also narādhamas, the lowest of men, and the Supreme Personality of Godhead replies that they are because they have no actual knowledge.

They are simply proud of their false prestige and position. Actually they do not know how to get relief from the material condition and renovate their spiritual life of transcendental bliss and knowledge.

Consequently they waste time and energy in the search for so-called happiness. These are the qualifications of the demons. In Bhagavad-gītā it says that when one has all these demonic qualities, he becomes a mūḍha.

Due to this. he envies the Supreme Personality of Godhead; therefore birth after birth he is born into a demonic family, and he transmigrates from one demonic body to another. Thus he forgets his relationship with Kṛṣṇa and remains a narādhama in an abominable condition life after life.

Devotional service done out of envy really isnt devotional service. It isnt the physical action that makes up devotional service, it is the state of consciousness.

There is no comparison between the mundane envy of this world and the transcendental "envy" or "jealousy" of the gopis.

What is the problem with all the Vishnavas including the Prabhupada (Prabhupada loves the word Rascal a lot, isn’t it?) I used to respect him very much until a moment ago. Just today I read his comments on Sai Baba. Then I thought it is no offense to Krishna if I use the word Rascal to Prabhupada. Because he never hesitated to use this word against SaiBaba. When Saibaba never said a single derogatory comment against any Vishnava why do they want to say things to him. What harm is he causing to you all. Is it his fault that an atheist like me after seeing him just once from far totally transformed and started going to temples, praying, respecting Vaishnavas and hosting them and hosting Bhajans?

Christians and Muslims do not accept Krishna as god, they say that Krishna is a pervert, a thief etc. They say Shiva Linga is a sexual organ of Man and Woman. Can you tell them that Bhagavatam is the only Sastra and not Bible or Koran? In Bible or Koran (they are Sastras for them like Bhagavatam or Shiva Puran for us!) Krishan/Chaitanay/Shiva was never mentioned. Dose it mean that Krishna is not god? Similarly, if few Vishnavas do not accept SaiBaba as god it does not matter to him or to his devotees. Saibaba is not a Rascal or his devotees. I can sing Krishna Bhajans better than many of you Vishnavas, I can chant more rounds than any of you. This is all because of Sai Grace. The only difference is Saibaba never criticized anybody nor taught me to say bad words.

Prabhupada used the word Rascal when refereeing to SaiBaba. Such a shame on him. He should have at least respected him as a saint. If SaiBaba committed a sin by saying he was god, Prabhupada committed even a bigger sin by calling him Rascal. Because all the ISKON people and other Vishnvas stared saying all sorts of things to him with out even thinking if they are qualified enough to say things to him. After all he dwells and preaches love for god all the time. Be it Krishna’s Bhajan or Shivas Bhajan or Jesus Bhajan. He always talks about Vedas, Krishna, Bhagavatam., Ramyan. Which part of it makes him a Rascal? Is it that he tells “Love all Serve All” that makes him a Rascal? “God is Every Where , learn to see him in his might” is it that makes him a Rascal? Or he teaches Bhajan “Murali Gana Lola Nanda Gopa Bala” is it that makes him a Rascal?

When Gopikas can give their CharanRajj to Krishna as ointment for his headache what problem dose it create to say that Krishna and I are one and same. What type of love I or SaiBaba do not have for Krishna that Gopikas had. I am even better than Goipkas. Krishna once left Goipkas but he never leaves me. you and take away all your name fame power

Wake up Guys. You created so many cults in your own religion. If a Muslim tells you that Allah is the only god, Mohammed is the last guru and Koran is the only Sastra, you guys urinate in your lungis and nod your heads. Then you come back and say things to your own religious leaders. Wake Up Wake Up. What a fool Prabhupada was, in spite of coming from the same religion, he did not accept any thing other than what he thought was right and built an empire. He expected people from other race and religion to obey him and his preaching. What happened? They just poisoned him and sacked all of it. Even Krishna did not come to rescue. (I have seen his video, what a pitiful death)If he had not criticized SaiBaba or other personalities may be Krishna would have come to his rescue.

If any body criticizes SaiBaba or me they will meet the same fate as Prabhupada. A bunch of goons will poison and murder . . This is a curse from a SaiVishnava..

SaiKrishna, forgive me for writing like this against Vishnavas. But I could not hold myself.

All ways in Krishna’ Service

KrishnaPriya Dasi

Once a Disciple of Srila Prabhupada met Saibaba's Followers, These followers started saying that Saibaba was God and the Disciple of SP replied :

I didn't know that God was so Ugly!

I can use the same words towards Prabhupada what you use towards Saibab. And the fact is , it is all started by Prabhupada. My whole point is that. Why in this whole world is his business to judge anybody and then use words like Rascal. And speeking god being "Ugly" do you think god was handsome when he took the form of Pig (Varaha)? If god needs to be beautiful, Brad Pitt can be god or Aishwarya Rai can be mother Durga.

I hope you are a Vishnava at leaset to know who is varaha.

Posted by Rascal "...Why in this whole world is his business to judge anybody and then use words like Rascal?"

Mr. Rascal,

Prabhupada is Jagat-Guru.

Prabhupada presented Bhagavad-gita for the first time to the western civilization "As it is"

Prabhupada therefore has the authority to present the 'standard of measurement as to what-is-what (ya-drk).

Prabhupada has already done the above starting in 1965 CE.

Prabhupada's followers will continue to spread his message as to what-is-what.

I suggest that you will have a difficult time trying to catch up for so much lost time for you cause. Also, at the 57th St Hamburger Resturant, across from Carnegie Hall in New York City called, "Hard-Rock Cafe" there is a Glass Hologram of Sai Baba hung on the wall overlooking the diners--I don't think the patrons there are showing their proper respects. [but maybe it has been purchased by some reverential patron of the arts since I last saw it there in 1982].

Chant Hare Krishna and your life will be sublime for once and for all.
