Basic beliefs of Hindus and Muslims side by side

Islam:

 

In Islam, belief in One God is the most important belief. Allah in arabic refers to the One God. It is a known fact that every language has one or more terms that are used in reference to God and sometimes to lesser deities. This is not the case with Allah. Allah is the personal name of the One true God. Nothing else can be called Allah. The term has no plural or gender. This shows its uniqueness when compared with the word god which can be made plural, gods, or feminine, goddess. It is interesting to notice that Allah is the personal name of God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus and a sister language of Arabic. The One true God is a reflection of the unique concept that Islam associates with God. To a Muslim, Allah is the Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing and nothing is comparable to Him.

 

Hinduism:

(monotheism) Hinduism has many deities. This is much like ancient Greek and Roman religions. The god Brahma is the creator of the world. The god Vishnu who preserves the world through his many incarnations. The god Shiva will destroy the world which will be rebuilt by Brahma. In their Rig-Veda Book, we find prayers to some 70 objects, each serving as a deity. The concept of god Brahma is similar to the concept of Trinity in Christianity. The Brahma is responsible for all workings of the world and everyone is a part of him. Different gods are viewed as different aspects of him. (polytheism)

 

Islam:

In Islam, all humans are created equal. For example, there is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or vice versa. Blacks and whites have no superiority over each other. The same holds with any other nationality or ethnicity. Islam rejects characterizing God in any human form or depicting Him as favoring certain individuals or nations on the basis of wealth, power or race. He created the human beings as equals. They may distinguish themselves and get His favor through virtue and piety only.

 

Hinduism:

Hinduism has a caste system, with four major castes. Members of each are required by strict religious laws to follow certain hereditary occupations and to refrain from intermarriage or eating with members of the other castes. The highest, or priestly and intellectual, caste is that of the Brahmans. The remaining three in order are Kshatriya (ruling or warrior caste), Vaisya (common artisan and agricultural caste), and the Sudras (the low caste people).

Muslims eat all wholesome and good food including meat of Cow (beef), lamb, goat, and chicken. Cow is a sacred animal and a deity for Hindus. Cows, therefore, can not be killed or eaten in Hinduism.

 

Islam:

Muslims believe that each person has a body and soul. At death, your body is separated from your soul. Your faith and actions in this life will determine your fate in the Life After Death. There is a Day of Judgment when this life will come to an end for every one, and all humans from Adam to the last person, will be brought to a second life, rejoining of your body and soul. On that Day, God will put people in Hell or Heaven based on their beliefs and deeds of this life.

 

Hinduism:

Hinduism believes in body and soul. Your soul returns to your body after your death. This cycle repeats seven times according to some. Your status or caste in next life depends on your deeds of the previous life.

This is called Reincarnation in Hinduism.

I've come forward to show you the TRUE islam. There is no moon, sun, etc worshipping. All these things are creations of Allah. I would not use the word 'God' because word 'God' can be made plural, gods, or feminine, goddess. Allah is one.

 

I'm not a messenger, not a priest. I'm just a normal human-being who believes in Islam and it has been choosen for me as my way of life beside it is also my religion.

Are you really claiming to be an expert, seer of the real light, of both Islam and Sanatana Dharma (aka Hinduism)?

 

I purposely did not read your comparison of the two schools since in the past we have had several childish detractors come here cutting and pasting such terrible nonsense from various websites presenting backwards ideas about Hinduism. It was difficult to perceive such childish insinserity as anything but rude gossip of unintelligent hate-mongers. Effectively it left us doubting the validity or at least the potency of Islam. Are you any different? Are you objective? Are you holy? Have you done your homework?

 

The biggest difference we could see was that for us God is a person, the primal person upon whose being everything arises and rests, yet for them God was just a thing, a force. God, Krishna, the All-Attractive Person is sometimes worshiped by those who are envious of His greatness by rejecting His very being and simply worshiping His energy. We see this manifest in Buddhism and certain impersonal schools in India. It would be interesting to know if any Muslims understand that God is indeed a person, who has activities, relationships and whose love we all desire.

 

Indeed the goal of Sanatana Dharma, Hinduism is to perfect our love for God and enter into an eternal relationship with Him, thereby becoming eligible to enter His intimate Kingdom to rejoice forever in His company.

 

This is Hinduism. This is God, the true goal of all religious scriptures.

The only way you can convert a hindu is if you make him/her fall in love with you and then to marry you they have to convert, but they will still stay as "hindus" on the inside no matter what.

 

Islam is a good religion to follow, but it is only teaches one 'part' of the vedic teaching. True liberation can only happen when you have 100% of knowledge, not 10%. doesn't sound like you have a very good grasp on Hinduism.

 

First off Allah having no qualities is just like Brahman with no qualities. After that, in Hinduism, there are many MANIFESTATIONS of Brahman, but ultimately, they're all one and the same. And that's NOT polytheism, that's panENtheism. Meaning god is IN everything, and not necessarily separate. In Hinduism, god is Brahman, but Brahman is worshipped in various forms. All paths lead to Brahman.

 

The cow is NOT a deity. Hindus respect the cow, as they do all animals, because all animals have consciousness and spirits are reincarnated in all forms. Eating meat is absorbing bad karma, therefore it is advised to eat vegetables which is to absorb the least bad karma that is possible.

 

The caste system doesn't determine how one is superior over another. That is distortion of what Hinduism originally was. That is distortion of the caste system, which is really supposed to be based on your qualities NOT your birth. the caste system is just like our social structure, essentially: some are doctors, some are lawyers, some are cooks, etc. It's just a very broad way to label people from different professions. In that sense, EVERYONE is part of a caste system.

 

Hinduism emphasizes unity and that all is one and not different.

 

 

To me, it seems you are out to provoke and hope to convert Hindus into Muslims, but you have no real idea WHY you're doing this. You think your religion is better due to plain ego and nothing more, since it is clear you have many misconceptions about Hinduism, and yet you have the audacity to preach how Islam is better. Men need to convert to Islam to marry a muslim girl but it also is the same issue with men too, most muslim men believe that in order to marry a girl, she needs to be a muslim or it is not a marriage at all. Most muslim men date non muslim girls, make them their girl-friends, make them fall in love so bad that the girls finally beg the guys to marry them, then they marry on only one condition, which is conversion. I have heard muslim guys saying "Shaadi ke lieh, Apna Dharm ko kaise tyagogeh yaar" , its really sickening. Surely the Almighty one knows what you are doing. Take all the time that you want and waste it here.

 

Piece of Advice: If you really want to serve Allah, you should not try to convert people, but try to act like a good muslim and a good muslim should :

1) Pray five times a day.

2) Give charity

3) Visit mecca

4) Read Quran

5) Do your duty as said in Quran for allah.

 

There are alot more, but try to do these first, then if you have more time, allah the compassionate will permit you to do others, chant one hundred names of Allah everyday for 20 to 30 years ( i am not joking or trying to exaggerate). Then, when Allah reveals his true self to you, then you will find peace.

 

The essence of Islam as said by Muhammed (Peace be Upon Him) is not to try to convert people by dueling them, marrying them or thinking of your path as "superior" to others or trying to prove so, but the essence is in KNOWING your PATH to be superior to others and keeping quiet. So that you can submit to Allah and enjoy his eternal paradise in peace and happiness. Then after achieving that, if you want to show Allah the almighty that your gratitude, come back to this earth as a messiah and please be free to enlighten all of us with the true light of allah. Until then, Chant and be happy.

 

Oh yea, the time to duel is when you are challenged. No one has challenged you about your religion, when you are free to follow what you want, it is not wise to stop others from their path. So, do not be a disturbance

The Bhagavadgita is the essence of all Vedic wisdom and all followers of Vedic Dharma including Hindus believe in it.

Killing and causing pain to any animal for food is very sinful act. Any religion that prescribes killing of animals for food is a false religion. Such religions will lead the person to hell.

Just a few thoughts, in relation to Islam and Vaishnavism.

 

Both religions say there is one Supreme God.

 

But in Vaishnavism there is no such thing as Satan.

 

Where has evil originated from?

 

A soul can choose to be submissive to God, or a soul can choose to go against God's wishes.

 

Can a soul who has gone against God's wishes be saved?

 

In Vaishnavism, we believe God made this world as a place which is like a school, and that the eternal souls fall down into the world and get born on Earth (or some planet like this earth), so that we can get a chance to live out our fantasies and selfish urges and desires to enjoy pleasure. And we get born again and again until we learn the lesson that we should surrender to God. There is no eternal hell, only an endless number of lifetimes, and an endless number of school rooms, where we come to learn our lessons.

 

To become a Muslim, someone must believe this:

La-illaha-illulahu, Muhammadur-rasullulah: there is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

 

But Vaishnavas do not accept the teachings of Muhammad or the Koran, since there are many things in the Koran which are against the teachings of our Vaishnav Gurus.

Allah supported His last Prophet Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) with many miracles and much evidence which proved that he is a true Prophet sent by Allah. Also, Allah supported His last revealed book, the Holy Quran, with many miracles that prove that this Quran is the literal word of Allah, revealed by Him, and that it was not authored by any human being. Pls. find some of the evidence.

 

(1) The Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran

The Quran is the literal word of Allah, which He revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) through the Angel Gabriel. It was memorized by Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam), who then dictated it to his Companions. They, in turn, memorized it, wrote it down, and reviewed it with the Prophet Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam). Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) reviewed the Quran with the Angel Gabriel once each year and twice in the last year of his life. From the time the Quran was revealed, until this day, there has always been a huge number of Muslims who have memorized all of the Quran, letter by letter. Some of them have even been able to memorize all of the Quran by the age of ten. Not one letter of the Quran has been changed over the centuries.

 

The Quran, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago, mentioned facts only recently discovered or proven by scientists. This proves without doubt that the Quran must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him to the Prophet Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam), and that the Quran was not authored by Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) or by any other human being. This also proves that Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) is truly a prophet sent by Allah. It is beyond reason that anyone fourteen hundred years ago would have known these facts discovered or proven only recently with advanced equipment and sophisticated scientific methods.

 

Some examples follow.

 

The Quran on Human Embryonic Development:

In the Holy Quran, Allah speaks about the stages of man’s embryonic development:

 

<< We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech, suspended thing, and blood clot), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed substance)...>> [1] (Quran, 23:12-14)

 

Literally, the Arabic word alaqah has three meanings: (1) leech, (2) suspended thing, and (3) blood clot.

 

In comparing a leech to an embryo in the alaqah stage, we find similarity between the two[2] as we can see in figure 1. Also, the embryo at this stage obtains nourishment from the blood of the mother, similar to the leech, which feeds on the blood of others.[3]

The second meaning of the word alaqah is “suspended thing.” This is what we can see in figures 2 and 3, the suspension of the embryo, during the alaqah stage, in the womb of the mother.

The third meaning of the word alaqah is “blood clot.” We find that the external appearance of the embryo and its sacs during the alaqah stage is similar to that of a blood clot. This is due to the presence of relatively large amounts of blood present in the embryo during this stage[4](see figure 4). Also during this stage, the blood in the embryo does not circulate until the end of the third week.[5] Thus, the embryo at this stage is like a clot of blood.

So the three meanings of the word alaqah correspond accurately to the descriptions of the embryo at the alaqah stage.

 

The next stage mentioned in the verse is the mudghah stage. The Arabic word mudghah means “chewed substance.” If one were to take a piece of gum and chew it in his or her mouth and then compare it with an embryo at the mudghah stage, we would conclude that the embryo at the mudghah stage acquires the appearance of a chewed substance. This is because of the somites at the back of the embryo that “somewhat resemble teethmarks in a chewed substance.”[6] (see figures 5 and 6).

How could Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) have possibly known all this 1400 years ago, when scientists have only recently discovered this using advanced equipment and powerful microscopes which did not exist at that time? Hamm and Leeuwenhoek were the first scientists to observe human sperm cells (spermatozoa) using an improved microscope in 1677 (more than 1000 years after Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) ). They mistakenly thought that the sperm cell contained a miniature preformed human being that grew when it was deposited in the female genital tract.[7]

 

Professor Emeritus Keith L. Moore[8] is one of the world’s most prominent scientists in the fields of anatomy and embryology and is the author of the book entitled The Developing Human, which has been translated into eight languages. This book is a scientific reference work and was chosen by a special committee in the United States as the best book authored by one person. Dr. Keith Moore is Professor Emeritus of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. There, he was Associate Dean of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and for 8 years was the Chairman of the Department of Anatomy. In 1984, he received the most distinguished award presented in the field of anatomy in Canada, the J.C.B. Grant Award from the Canadian Association of Anatomists. He has directed many international associations, such as the Canadian and American Association of Anatomists and the Council of the Union of Biological Sciences.

 

In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Professor Moore said: “It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) from God, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God.”[9].

 

Consequently, Professor Moore was asked the following question: “Does this mean that you believe that the Quran is the word of God?” He replied: “I find no difficulty in accepting this.”[10]

 

During one conference, Professor Moore stated: “....Because the staging of human embryos is complex, owing to the continuous process of change during development, it is proposed that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah (what Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) said, did, or approved of). The proposed system is simple, comprehensive, and conforms with present embryological knowledge. The intensive studies of the Quran and hadeeth (reliably transmitted reports by the Prophet Muhammad’s (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) companions of what he said, did, or approved of) in the last four years have revealed a system for classifying human embryos that is amazing since it was recorded in the seventh century A.D. Although Aristotle, the founder of the science of embryology, realized that chick embryos developed in stages from his studies of hen’s eggs in the fourth century B.C., he did not give any details about these stages. As far as it is known from the history of embryology, little was known about the staging and classification of human embryos until the twentieth century.For this reason, the descriptions of the human embryo in the Quran cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the seventh century. The only reasonable conclusion is: these descriptions were revealed to Muhammad (sallal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) from Allah. He could not have known such details because he was an illiterate man with absolutely no scientific training.”[11]
