Haridham 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Hare Krsna everyone. As some of you know I am facing a hard situation in my life. I was just wondering if any devotees know an Immigration lawyer by any chance. Or are there any Devotee immigration lawyers who can help me with my situation. Thank you in advance. Guest guest Report post Posted October 12, 2003 There are probably not many devotee lawyers. Of the few there are, probably none of them are in Canada. Maybe this site can help you, or give you leads, as they are in Victoria and will give you a free email assesment. http://www.victorialaw.com/

stonehearted 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I believe Mrigendra in LA and Shesha (in Florida?) practice immigration law. However, I've heard complaints about both. Ask if you can contact some of their clients to see how satisfied they are. You may have no problem with them at all, but I know of some devotees from India who have had very annoying and expensive problems. I don't have contact information for them. Mrigendra's name is Harvey Mechanic. I don't know Shesha's name. Good luck.
theist 1 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 devotee lawyers? Don't be sentimental and just get the best one you can find.
Kulapavana 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 as you live in Canada you should find a local lawyer, familiar with the laws of your country. in any case, dealing with a person face to face is much better. ALL lawyers are about money - do not count on any sentiments.
stonehearted 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Kulapavana and theist raise an interesting question: why a devotee lawyer, not a good lawyer? Do you think a devotee lawyer would charge less because you're a devotee? If you have a legal problem, you want the lawyer who knows best how to deal with the problems you're having, not just someone who belongs to your church. If you can get both, that's cool, but keep in mind what your immediate interests are. If you had a fire, would you look around the continent for a devotee fire fighter (they're there)?
