Krishna devotees claim...

""A bath in this river is said to be one hundred times more purifying

than a bath in the Ganges. The reason being that even though the

Ganges was once touched by the feet of Lord Vishnu, it was the Yamuna

where Lord Krishna Himself played and swam with His cowherd

boyfriends; He also sported in its waters with the beautiful gopi

damsels of Vraja."

Yes Krishna did marry Jamuna maharani in her name as Kalindi, who is one of the 8 principal queens of Krishna. As far as may memory serves me correctly, in total, Krishna had 16,108 wives) Please refer to the KRSNA book (volume 2)written by His Divine Grace A.C Bhakitvedanta Swami Prabhupada.

"According to the Varaha Purana, as quoted by Srila Jiva Gosvami, there is no difference between the water of the Ganges and the Yamuna, but when the water of the Ganges is sanctified one hundred times, it is called the Yamuna." (Srimad Bhagavatam 1.19.6 purport by Srila Prabhupada)

The Supreme Lord expands into different forms to enjoy transcendental pastimes and his eternal associates expand along with Him; to render a varity of loving services.

Visakha sakhi, Sri Radha's dearest girlfriend, expands in one form as the Yamuna River in order to assist in the aquatic adventures of the Divine Couple.

Srimati Visakha devi thinks only of the happiness of Radha and Krishna. Her bodily complexion, age, actions so much resemble Radharani's that whenever Krishna sees Visakha, He instantly remembers Sri Radha.

Upon seeing the Shyama- blue color of the Yamuna river (Visakha's liquid form), Radhika immediately thinks of Her Beloved, Krishna.

The Yamuna river (also called Kalindi) is a transcendental river eternally flowing in Goloka Vrindavana. She appeared in this world as the sister of Yamaraja and the daughter of the sun-god, Vivasan. Kalindi is also considered one of the internal energies of the Supreme Lord Krishna.

According to the Varaha Purana, as quoted by Jiva goswami, there is NO difference between the water of the Ganges and the Yamuna, but when the water of the Ganges is sanctified one-hundred times, it is called the Yamuna.

The Vishnu Purana states that since the Yamuna eternally flows in the spiritual world; her waters are so purifying that bathing one hundred times in the Ganges is equal to one bath in the Yamuna.

In the Vedas, the personified Ganges River prays to the Yamuna,

"O Yamuna, you purify the three worlds and have manifested from the left side of Lord Krishna's body.

I along with everyone else in the three worlds am always praying for your mercy.

You are the life force of Lord Krishna; so please accept my humble obeisance at your lotus feet again and again.

You are even worshipped by the residents of Goloka.

Anyone who touches you is guaranteed of entering the divine pastimes performed in Goloka Vrindavana!"

From Appreciating Sri Vrindavana Dhama, Mahanidhi Swami
