teeth cavities as worms?

Well we now know that bacteria is the cause of cavities.Texts written before microscopic techniques were available can be excused for not using correct terminology.

 

Old Indian books are so amazing.The highest conceptions of God are there mixed with ideas like eggplants are sinful,and carrots are meat.

Perhaps this gives some clues as to where this idea came from.Similar to scorpions being born from rice.

 

 

The early 1700's saw the Dutch scientist Anton van Leeuwenhoek investigate the "toothworm," popularly believed the cause of cavities. Using his microscope, he finds that worms lodged in cavities came from eating worm-infested overripe cheese. The Chinese invented the modern toothbrush, with bristles at right angles to the handle, about 1490.

kITaka - worm, insect, bard-type

keeTaka (cerebral t) also means panegyrist = descended from xatriya father, vaizya mother.

One MahAbhArata prince was named KITaka.

What size insect one can see depends on his or her vision power.

Bacteria, viri... may be included in/by KITa.
