In the famous riddle about hungry, angry, and some elusive third word, the answer is not in fact a word that ends with gry. The answer is language.

The question is phrased as this: "There are only 3 words in 'the English Language' What is the third word?" Get it?

Well, we did actually have a two dollar bill until a couple of years ago. Now we have a two dollar coin, which we call the "toonie" after our beloved one dollar coin, known as the "loonie".

But as far as an American flag being there? No. As you can see from this picture, it was the Canadian flag.

The attempts, "unangry" and "the English language", are inadequate to explain the riddle. The only way "unangry" can be construed as a word is to prefix the explanation by stating "unangry" is recognized by (Whatever) Dictionary as a word. It does not stand the test of standing alone as a word stem, however, like "angry" and "hungry". If "unangry" is accepted, then one must accept "unhungry".

In stating that the riddle is to be solved as the third word in "the English language", one would (to be fair) have to state it in this form: "There are three words in the English language which end in ngry. Two of them are 'angry' and 'hungry'. What is the third word in, quote, the English language, unquote?" Makes is unwieldy, no?

Therefore, one must make one of two assumptions: If the premise is true that there are three words, there is yet the undiscovered word. If the premise is false that there are three words, you've been had! (or, I'm a nit-picker)

Here is the riddle in its correct form:

Think of words that end in -ngry.

Angry and Hungry are two of them.

The English Language has three words.

What is the third word?

The first two lines are intentionally misleading; "red herrings" if you will.
