Tarun 6 Report post Posted March 15, 2002 Natural Health Tip of the Day Thursday March 14, 2002 << Apples >> A study presented in journal Thorax in January 2000 found that an apple a day (at least five per week) led to better lungs, with those who typically ate that many apples able to exhale more air from their lungs than group that didn't eat apples. The study covered five-year period and 2,500 subjects and found that an antioxidant flavonoid could be mitigating factor. If that isn't enough of a reason to eat apples, consider these factors. - The flesh of an apple is a good source of soluble fiber, which can help lower cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar levels. - The antioxidants in apples can keep cells from becoming damaged or mutating. - Apples are a natural toothbrush, stimulating your gums and helping to produce saliva. - They just taste great, so buy a bag, offer and start eating healthier. - Carla Joy
Tarun 6 Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Natural Health Tip of the Day - Saturday May 25, 2002 Pumpkin And Sunflower Seeds Pumpkin and sunflower seeds can provide fiber, protein, and other nutrients your body needs. Pumpkin seeds (about 1/2 cup per day) can promote prostate health and even keep the prostate from enlarging. Sunflower seeds (about 3 or 4 ounces a day) provide thiamin, niacin, and B6. You can sprinkle the seeds (unsalted, please) on your salad, mix them with cream cheese for a veggie bagel, cook them into muffins, or just eat them plain. - Carla Joy EMAZING Quote of the Day If my stories are complete it is because I see everything beginning with original sin, taking in the Redemption and reckoning on a final judgement. - Flannery O'Connor
