Jahnava Nitai Das Posted February 13, 2002 Report Posted February 13, 2002 We just finished the ISKCON Ratha Yatra here in Mysore. I will try to post some pictures when I get time. Both in Bangalore and Mysore ISKCON conducts "Krishna Balarama" ratha yatra instead of Jagannatha Ratha Yatra. Quote

Is it because, Krsna is better understood in that part of the world? I have read that one reason why Lord Jagannath is taken on a yatra is to give everyone, including those who are foreigners, a chance to pull his chariot, as they can't visit his temple otherwise.
