Gauracandra Posted June 9, 2001 Report Posted June 9, 2001 I just read of the passing of Dr. Kapoor. I didn't realize, until I was told in the last few weeks, that there was 'controversy' regarding him and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta. Whatever the history, he was a Vaisnava and so should be respected. Perhaps others who have more information could post some stories or eulogies about him. Gauracandra Quote
Jagat Posted June 9, 2001 Report Posted June 9, 2001 It is said that he was a disciple of Siddhanta Saraswati, but I believe that he considered his "official" initiating guru to have been Gauranga Das Babaji, a disciple of Ram Das Babaji and grand-disciple of Radha Raman Charan Dasji. Quote
jijaji Posted June 10, 2001 Report Posted June 10, 2001 I am deeply saddened by the passing of this Sri Chaitanya Vaishnava who was a true sweetheart. ALL GLORIES TO THE DEVOTEES OF SRI CHAITANYA! ALL GLORIES TO THE DEVOTEES OF SRI SRI RADHA KRISHNA! jijaji ------------------ PEACE NOW Quote
shvu Posted June 10, 2001 Report Posted June 10, 2001 Who is a Vaishnava? Vaishnava = worshipper of Vishnu. Cheers Quote
Ananga Posted June 12, 2001 Report Posted June 12, 2001 That is sad news indeed. Truly a mahatma of the highest order that respected all Vaishnavas and was always a perfect gentleman. He used to introduce various Western candidates interested in initiation to various babajis from the Nitai Gaur Radhe Syam line. Hey, Jijaji, where have you been hiding? I left you a message by phone last night. [This message has been edited by Ananga (edited 06-12-2001).] Quote
