I have heard that Brahmans were created from the mouth of Brahma, Kshatriyas from the chest part,Vysyas from the thigh part and shudras from the feet of Brahma.

Also Brahmins are referred as Bhusura's meaning Gods(sura) on earth (Bhoomi)

Is this not clear sign of inequality of Brahma upon his creation?

Which part of your Body which is more important to you than the rest?

You may say your head since cutting it off could mean you kill yourself.

What if you break your legs and don't heal it? Will you not die? Or your legs? Will you not die either?

What happens to people with no hands? By instinct, if someone strikes you, you raise your hand to defend yourself. Why don't you raise your legs? Or bow your head to dodge?

thank you for your reply. but i feel things are deeper than that, even though i would be inclined to console myself on your line of thought.

isn't vedas the creation of the brahmins? brahmins had given every one a role and sudras, being the conquered and the vanquished, were pushed to do menial work(created from the leg of brahma). sudras therefore, remained forever doing menial jobs for the brahmins, kshatriyas and kayasth till they were rescued by mahatma gandhi. sudras were also stamped as untouchables. does not brahma touch his feet or does he consider his feet as outcasts?

According to Hindusm, Manu and his wife, Anusia (if not mistaken) together with the 7 Sages were rescued by Vishnu during the Great Flood in form of Fish (Mastya Avatar).

After the Flood resides and the Boat is set below, Vishnu appeared in form of a Fish and delivered the Vedas to Manu and the 7 Sages.

And from Manu and his wife, Mankind appeared and spread across the Globe.

Now ... what caste is Manu? Is he a Brahmin?

If Caste is by Birth - as some egoistic Hindus may continued to think, then Mankind - ALL of US - are considered to be children of Manu, am I right? So, by that context, everyone is a Brahmin - separated ONLY by the occupations we have taken for ourselves.

vaivasvata, the 7th manu who was saved by vishnu was not the first of mankind. he was one amongst the first of the human race. and remember those 7 sages..they represent the 7 races. the caste system was based on varna and no. of births..once born, twice born etc. there was clear prejudice for the sudras(our forefathers) and the tribes of india (the real untouchables, unseeables). nonsense!

I don't think brahmadev thinks his feet are untouchable. for blessing, we touch the feet of gods and our elders. If feet were seen as untouchable, than why would we pay gretest respect to our elders by touching their feet and asking them to bless us? We are human, we want to be better than other, so we come up with ways to discreminate and feel superiour to others.

I have no problem with that explanation at all. In those days, those RISHIS were geniuses.

you see, whether BRAHMA created people from his butt or from his head, it does not matter.

WHY?

each body cell of BRAHMA had the exact copy of GENOME. GENES were all the same coming from all cells, if you looked at them under a microscope.

THat is why you see, some people having great VARNAS or carrier, even though by ancient definition a person was made out of BRAHMA'S THIGH OR BUTT!

LOL:)

The other thing is that each part of the body that is being used for certain type of labor or occupation was the only criteria that they used to write up about BRAHMA and his creation as in ORIGINAL CREATOR.

So, people who use a lot of thinking use thier heads, like philosopher, teacher, educator, manual or how to do this or that writing up, interpretations, research and development type of work, etc. are classified as coming out of HEAD of BRAHMA.

BUT remember all GENES are same thru out BRAHMA's body. He was a HUMAN FORM DEITY created for BOOK KEEPING by MAHAVISHNU.

BRAHMA was full of knowledge, because of his DIVINE CONSORT SARSVATI or PRAKRITI only. His head was all made up of SUPREME PRAKRITIC matter called SARASVATI only.

LOL:)

THEN comes the KSHATRIYA group, which uses gross motor skills or full body for fighting as in Homeland security or Military or warfare or warrior administrative commanders, etc. Uniform personnel come usually under this. Like POLICE, FIREFIGHTING, EMERGENCY CREW, RESCUE WORKERS, etc.

THen if you use your trunk, at a desk bound sitting job or pedantic job, you are like a sales man at a desk job or a stock borker or telemarketter or sales clerk, VYSYAS were GRAIN MERCHANTS or CHILLI MERCHANTS in those days.

THEN you have the last category of SUDRAS, who are labor (MOSTLY very high skilled laborers) and they stand all day and work on their feet, service industry. There are surgeons who try to serve people who fall under this category.

Unskilled labor force was the fifth VARNA group who need not have any special training or education to do a job and earn a living.

All of us at one time or other do many things around the house, using all the regions of your body.

So what is the point of insulting BRAHMA here?

The only time, I was in disagreement w BRAHMA was when He was fighting w

SHIVA and VISHNU. He should not have with all loaded knowledge. HE did so, because of AHAMKAR OR egotism.

HE twisted the faith of TRINITY and suffered a blow from SHIVA.

Well, done SHIVA.

The figurative example of head, chest, hands and legs is to identify them according to their activities. Brahmanas are focussed on teaching and learning, a function of the brain or head. Shudras are focussed on working hard and carrying society, something the legs do for the body. It isn't to say one is better or one is worse, just to highlight the fact that caste is based on one's actions and qualities, not on one's birth.
