Guest guest
it addresses how to apply spiritual ideas into practice in contemporary societies...we need to do that in india!!"" I know, thats why i asked. India needs to show the world that it has its own system of governance and doesnt need to depend on foreign principles to grow. For this reason, they must stop aping the west and do something on their own.
barney
Such governance are for the period when there was no modern transportation, telephone, internet, nuclear energy, television and many other discoveries as today. We cannot go back in time as what the Muslims are trying to do. There a Muslims who refuse to have any of the modern gadgets in their home saying such gadgets are invention of the devil. I have witness such in my country and in certain states they have totally banned any cultural stage shows and other form of dance. It is silly and fanatical on their part and I would not want to see such in Hinduism or in India. If all these are discarded how do you think you can find employment for the one billion citizens of India? Every thing must be in moderate if not it will be choas and the religion would be blames for such an act like we are now blaming Islam for the suicide bombing. Guest guest
wants to go back in time. Dont be silly. Just because a bunch of people are trying to see if vedic ideas are applicable in modern age, it doesn't mean they reject everything western, which includes democracy, and want to remain backward. Seems like you are brainwashed. So-called modern, progressive democractic ideals have given India corrupt politicians, so naturally ppl want to know if there is another system that might work more efficiently. That is all there is to it. In what way is that going to make an entire country backward? Are you saying that the moment anyone rejects western influence, they are automatically transferred to the 'backward category'???
maadhav
good answer. thanks. every vedic king has a raj guru and also have some advisors - respectables - from the kingdom population. the raj guru is not a paid postion. advisors' position is also not a paid position. the king respectfully seeks their advice. in mahabharat bhishma describes how a king should rule.
