Guest guest
we are not the external body that we see reflected in the mirror.. we are spiritual souls parts and parcels of god there's no dignity differences between the souls, every soul is sat (eternal), cit (full of knowledge), and ananda (completely blissful) differences are only on the external, bodily, material plane so judgements, discriminations and prejudices are possible only between atheist and irreligious persons a real human, for vedas, is one who thinks "aham brahmasmi"... "i am an eternal spiritual soul" and who sees everyone in this way

Guest guest
<< what is generally taught about prejudice and discrimination within Hinduism. >> okay. let us begin by definiton of tehwords. prejudice = to bias the mind by unfair opinions. hinduism is truth based sin-free living. so, unfairness cannnto come in a good hindu's conduct. opinions vary, but truth does not. so, opinions die (or ony one opinion remain) when truth is known. discrimination is an ct of unfair treatement based on race, color, caste, age, sex, etc. this is negative amd undesirable the positive discrimination also is possible, and that is called vivek. vivek means to analyse a situation per dharma and act according to dharma. now, when you use vivek in your conduct, meaning do positive discrimination, then the opposing party may tag it as negative discrimination. then it will be up to you to see how you want to see it, but there there is only one truth, and one right decision. many people in a mad house think they are really wise and sane. i have heard a bum on the street to give his opinion how regan should behave. this is maya. does this satisfy your need?
