Sanskrit word "nava"

I would like more information on the meaning of this word. I understand it derives from the word for "nine" and "new" can anyone give me more information either by responding or websites that might be helpful.

Not much to say except that they are two different words. They are Indo-European and so have cognates in many European languages, as well as Persian and other family members.

 

nava = novus = new

 

navan = novem = nine
