Why do Krishna devotees not fast on Hanuman jayanti?

Is it because Hanuman is 'just a son of a demigod'?

But isn't Hanuman a pure devotee of Rama - hence pure devotee of Krishna?

What considerations do you take into account when fasting?

What happens on Poonam - no fasting?

What is the real significance of Ekadashi?

Why do Krishna devotees not fast on Hanuman jayanti?

..there are holidays everyday, appearances and disappearances.. it is not disrespect, one has to choose. But what is done at organization level does not matter too much, if you are a krsna devote and hanumanji is very dear to you, you can fast and that day devote more time to spiritual realization... no problem

Is it because Hanuman is 'just a son of a demigod'?

..being a son of demigod is not a shame... hanumanji is a great devote of bhagavan sri ramachandra and he is to be higly respected

But isn't Hanuman a pure devotee of Rama - hence pure devotee of Krishna?

..of course, great devotee

What considerations do you take into account when fasting?

..fasting is not important in itself, in gaudya vaishnava sampradaya we fast completely only one day.. sri janmastami... the good of fasting is not in itself, but because in that auspicious day one spends less time for the body and more for spiritual soul

What happens on Poonam - no fasting?

..i do not know what's poonam.. kindly please xplain to me

What is the real significance of Ekadashi?

..it is a very auspicious day when spiritual activities are more effective.. so it is worth to spend no time or less time (making simple foods with no grains and legumes) cooking and eating, and more on scriptures, japa, kirtan and so on

The number of pure devotees in the universe is unlimited, thus if one wants to fast for each one will not be able to eat at all.

Our tradition is to fast on the appearance days of Vishnu's avatars, as well as on the appearance day of our four purva-acharyas (four immediate gurus).
