Guest guest
yoga helps. I have a series of tapes by Baron Bapitse (sp?) called Power Yoga, they are not a lightly taken yoga series. He means 'power yoga'., or hot yoga. And he isn't irritating like some of the other people who do tapes. There are 3 tapes in the series and I've only made it through tape 1 regularly. Tape 2 & 3 kick my fanny. You will be sweating by the end of any of them. I am making a mental note to self to do at least tape 1 this morning....But I have a room full of overnight girls (daughter's frieneds), so either they can do yoga with me or we'll all take the dog for a walk. Because with skunk scent in the yard I'm not letting her out right now....Sorry if I'm babbling buit is only 340 am. tomorrow is a work party, Most of the people we work with are vegetarian, so the eats should be good. I'm bringing a birthday card for the co-worker whose son is turning 18, that I made with my rubber stamps, and a green salad, and a relish tray to get even with Benito and Nick for tricking me with the hot peppers from the garden the other day. The green salad is easy, (what green salad isn't?) but it is mixed greens, thinly sliced purple onion, sunflower seed, mandarin oranges, poppy seed dressing, croutons (I usually make my own). Benito and Nick have a lot to answer for. They get some pickled hot peppers, onion and relish dip, crackers and cream cheese if I'm feeling nice, more pickled hot peppers and onions, Never trick the boss's wife. Guest guest
Spicy foods can speed up metabolism. For some people that can be helpful and for others it can cause problems. Some sour things can also speed metabolism. Guest guest
Hi Val - I eat mainly fruits in the morning - preferably fresh. I have a salad or cooked veggies every day for lunch. I choose sprouted grain breads (ezekiel makes breads, rolls and flourless tortillas) If I must have a processed food (chips, fig cookies, etc) I get organics/naturals as much as possible. I do like to snack on pistachios. Water is my beverage of choice most times (I kicked a big time diet pepsi habit along the way) And I've dropped 50 pounds since last September so something is working. I've found processed carbs are my biggest downfall so I try to avoid them but an occassional bagel is not out of the question. Patience is the key! Don't deny yourself - better to eat a bit chocolate than wait until you lose control and binge. voice of experience here... :{ Hang in there. We're all here for you! Make eggplant cutlets and then stir fry all but the mango (reserve for dessert) and the tomatoes -- add them uncooked just before serving. Stirfry the veggies, warm the rices and place in bottom of individual bowls, ladle on the stirfried veggies, center the eggplant cutlet and garnish with carrot curls and tomato slices. Guest guest
I'd make ratatouille (sp?) Saute the eggplant, zuke, peppers, tomatoes and green beans. Also add an onion and garlic and if not then use onion and garlic powder. Add pepper and Italian herbs. SprinkleParmesian cheese on top if you eat it. Guest guest
we've opened them by smashing them on the ground - Kadee M <abbey_road3012 Wednesday, October 18, 2006 11:29:05 AM Help! Sorry to bug the board with this, but I'm about to lose my temper. How do you open a coconut? We got one from the commissary thinking it'd be fun, and I've been sawing at the damned thing for ten minutes and I've got about a 3/4 " cut in it. Kadee Sedtal Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Take it into the garage with a hammer! (That's how my mom used to do it when I was a kid!) Guest guest
I got it... I couldn't find the hammer so I used the handle of a screwdriver. I'm sure I looked awfully silly, sitting on the floor beating a coconut to death with a screwdriver. Kadee Sedtal earthmother <earthmother213 wrote: go to www.howtoopenacoconut.com.
