Guest guest Report post Posted April 27, 2006 Hi Peter I don't think so. If we had a big house with a big hallway we could have one there - it would look quite impressive I reckon. Guest guest Report post Posted April 28, 2006 I have toyed with the idea of making a mini stone circle in my garden. Do you think I just threw them back there? Well, I don't know - you aren't very careful of your table orientation, so how would I know what goes on behind your sofa :-) > > Actually, that's a fine point... how come you've never offered me cookies?> ROFL! And this was the community sofa on VC that they were hidden behind. Guest guest Report post Posted April 28, 2006 Hi Nikki It would be good. I have a 'secret' garden at the end away from the house, that cannot be overlooked by anyone but the cows or sheep. It would be the ideal place. Guest guest Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Hi Jo Now that sounds quite lovely! It must be very relaxing and peaceful there. What type of plants do you have there? Guest guest Report post Posted April 29, 2006 Hi Nikki Just trees. I have a weeping willow, a weeping purple beech and a pine tree. There is also a mallow bush and a buddleia. There is tall hedge on either side, but we have no tall plants at the end so that we can enjoy the view of the field and woods beyond. I have used the space for tai chi, ritual and meditation. Off to the side of this area, the other side of the willow, is a small area where we have our garden bench. This has more trees the other side. Towards the house is the middle section which has a herbaceous border and a wild border, yet more trees - cypress, hazel, pine, mock orange, silver birch and various shrubs - and this is our bird garden where we have feeders, in view of the windows so we can see the birds easily. Then we have a small part by the house with the washing line, another bird house, and the herb pots etc. Our front garden is fairly non-descript with a robinia tree, and then small evergreens and flowering shrubs around the edge, and tubs and clematis by the house. We did have ivy growing up the front of the house, but we have chopped it down because it grows so quickly and is hard work to keep cutting back. What is your garden like?
