Guest guest Report post Posted October 20, 2005 Hi Nikki There is a film out in November I think - can't wait to see it. Did I mention we went to see Wallace and Grommit the other day - it was really good. There is also The Corpse Bride, and The Chronicles of Narnia that I want to see. I think there are more, but I can't remember at present. BB Jo , " earthstrm " <nikkimack@m...> wrote: > > Hi Jo > > > I'm reading Harry Potter at present. Guest guest Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Have any of you read the Series of Unfortunate Events stories? The second to the last of the series just came out and my son was in quite a tizzy to get it. The library still doesn't have it and he managed to find it new for $6 and really started the negotiations to get it! He was very disappointed about the movie, even thought it stared Jim Carey.earthstrm <nikkimack wrote: Hi Jo> I'm reading Harry Potter at present. Eldest son took his daughter and said the same thing! He might want to wait just a bit on the book and then look on amazon dot com. Lots of books sell there for only a penny and then you pay $3.49 for the shipping! Even brand new books! Guest guest Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Yeah, it really did. It didn't have the 'feel' of the books either. He's already stuck his nose in the new book. He reads it slowly, says he likes to savor it. He really digests the books he reads too. Often I'll bring up something from a book he read years before and he'll have it all down. This impresses me since my memory is sooooo bad!Lynda <lurine wrote: The kidlet says the movie doesn't stick to the book and leaves out a lot and changes a lot. she says she wishes she saved her money and rented something else! Guest guest Report post Posted October 26, 2005 HI Jonnie We saw the movie - and thought it could have been a lot lot better. Guest guest Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Those are both things he's well known for. In fact in Liar Liar, there's one seen where the child asks if he makes funny faces if his face will freeze that way and Carey's character responds "no, in fact some people make a good living doing that". They also pulled a gag on him during a scene where they 2 lawyer characters are yelling names at each other, Carey's character says "over achiever!" and the 'other' lawyer says "over acter!" It only takes Carey a moment to realize they were talking about him and he started laughing. I thought he would have been perfect for Unfortunate, but I'm guessing that the director was off the mark.heartwerk <jo.heartwork wrote: HI JonnieWe saw the movie - and thought it could have been a lot lot better.
