Well, did you watch Kennedy lamblast Rummy this morning? That should have lightened your day <g>

For our friends on the other sides of the ponds (UK to the east, Australia to the west), did your broadcast stations carry Rummy's comments about the troops of other nations not being up to snuff or as good as U.S. troops?

Now, anyone here from Canada, we are seriously thinking of immigrating. No joke.

Now, as anyone who knows me will know, I am not at all fond of any army, and I'm in no way "patriotic", but it has to be said that the number of British troops killed by US "friendly fire" is rather high, and yet not a single death caused by "friendly fire" by British troops. Of course, most British troops do have experience of doing service in a scenario not too different from Iraq at the moment, since most of them have served in Northern Ireland at some point during their careers!

Still, we must remember that Rumsfeld is the man who thinks that drinking Formaldahyde and Formic acid is safe, so we shouldn't take him too seriously.

Very true - During the actual war we lost more troops killed by Americans than by Iraqis! Anyway - war is bad - it's something we shouldn't be doing.

I don't know, I've been scouting out places that have a minimum of 120 growing days which is all I've got up here, or actually might be more in some years.

Of course, you're down there in the weather never changes country, soooooo, it would be a shock to your system <<eg>>

our *growing* seasons pauses fer about 10 hours i think....

we get a couple days of frost and we all lose it

a few years back..ok..over a dozen...we had a cold snap of about a week..it got below freezing several nights in a row...

everyones pipes exploded, and backyards turned into brown mush...

eucalyptus trees blackened by the thousand....

it wasn't a pretty site...

Good lord, why? Well Northern Arizona is the most beautiful place I've ever

lived. I love the mountains and the crisp cool air along with the wonderful

pine trees. However, Phoenix (and that whole area) is a pit from hell

filled with morons, massive pollution and it's easily 115 every day in the

summer. Screw a bunch of that. Might not be much left of AZ if these 5

fires that are burning aren't full contained pretty damn quick.

Ah yes, and the joy of flash floods and wind storms that literally lift

barns off the top of animals!

When we were at the big Arab shows during Feb. one year we all woke up to

find horses standing up to their knees in water and the following year the

barns were found a mile down the road!

That was the last year we hauled to those shows!

What about those of us who actually ARE Irish. :P

My sisters are named:

Maureen Kathleen

Kelly Shannon

Mary Margaret

And my younger son is Sean Patrick...

If that isn't painfully Irish I dunno what is. ;)

I just saw an episode of sliders

where the Republic of California was an independent country

their president Charleton Heston (not sure if that would be a good thing)

was opposed to the ole USA sorta of a Blue state thing

might even move back if Cal was independent =o]]

of course it would have to include the old territories of Nevada and Arizona

but it would be good ..lol

isn't that kinda like a nightmare????:)

OMG, I am in big trouble. Eldest son's wife is from the Azores, a Brazil.

Hmmmm, guess we've got a mini UN going here what with FIL from Italy (east

of Naples), MIL from Scotland via Nova Scotia (a McPhail), son #3's fiance

is another Irish lass (O'Keefe), and the list goes on <g>

We rescued an Iceland pony once. Does that count?
