Pole Shift (was vegan cookbook)

Well, astrology is far more complex than the 'what's your sign'

nonsense--I'm Cancer, but I act my Gemini moon sign. I'm terribly awkward

sometimes--that's Capricorn for ya.

It's more framework than comprehensive life,blah-di-blah (can't think of the

words here).

Hi Paul

> Whoops ! Don't confuse astronomy with astrology. Astronomy is real,

> astrology is " new age " nonsense.

Ah - I see you're after an argument!

In fact, it is only with the creation of a new religion (science) that

astronomy and astrology have been seperated. All of the great scientists of

the past (Newton, Wren, Haak, Wilkins, Boyle, etc. etc.) all accepted

astrology as a part of their research into natural philosophy.

I'm intrigued by your use of the term " new age " considering that astrology

pre-dates modern science by several millenia. Perhaps it is astrology which

is real, and modern science which is " new age nonsense " . Incidentally, why

do you feel the need to belittle something just because you happen to

disagree with it? That sort of attitude usually comes from those insecure in

their own beliefs who feel the need to bully others into agreement - either

that, or those who just like to stir up trouble.

Perhaps you could explain how the much vaunted " birth season effect " studies

carried out by psychologists over the past decade differ from astrology?

I remember magick being considered nonsense and then they burned

people fer it

and still no one quite believed

fact is, i remember being told veganism was nonsense by people who

knew nothing about it as well

then there was all that nonsense about the earth being round

ah, and nonsense about ...

Hi Nikki

> I LUV astrology!> have you ever had yer chart interpretated?> you'd be amazed at what the stars and planets know about you

I had it done by a friend about 3 years ago. It was surprisingly accurate in parts, but there was one major thing that was *completely* wrong... about as wrong as you could possibly get!

I take a sort of "middle road" on astrology... I see a lot of very good parallels between the moment and place of birth and character, and how various planetary movements affect our emotions etc. but I can't stand these ideas of "fortune telling" through astrology (i.e. the "tabloid" astrology).

I also have a big objection to astrology in that I have trouble fully understanding it... it just gets too complex for me! Same with astronomy. There's just too many stars and planets for me to keep an eye on! :-)

Hi Nikki

I have never had a chart done personally. I did one over the internet, and that was pretty good.

Any chance ..... :-) :-) :-)

Hi Jo

Absolutely! :)

Email me offlist yer birthdate, time and exact location. If you have

latitude longitude as well that's great, if not no biggie I will look

it up.

The more you know about when/where you were born, the more precise it

is. If you do not know the exact time of birth as close as possible

will work.

The just give me a bit of time and i'll send ya yer actual chart and

a few interpretations. And if there is anything specific you are

looking for info on (love, family, work, etc) lt me know and i'll try

to pinpoint those topics from your houses.

But remember, some things need to be taken lightly. Just because it

is there, does not mean it is necessarily negative and everything can

be worked with! :)

Oh i'm all excited now. LOL I LUV doing charts!

Sadly...no! Although I have met more vegans who share my sense of humour than non-vegans, so perhaps there is a loose connection between diet and sense of humour.

Actually, LOL the group was kinda slow fer a bit

If you find it easier, you can always get the messages in digest or

just read them from the group

I usually go to the group, easier fer me to navigate and I get enough

emails now as it is :)

All in all, I think as Vegans we have to have more of a light-hearted

side and open minds to deal with those who do not understand our

choices.

But, there is always the factor that this group is just a great bunch

of people too!

I'm sure you'll enjoy doing your degree. One of my friends at work has just got hers, from the Open University - part-time. She loved the field trips.
