Guest guest Posted September 13, 2008 Report Share Posted September 13, 2008 Hi, Please find the protocol for the treatment of Rp we follow at our centre.  Colour therapy:- We use blue light normal light 110 - 120 watts on the patient's face for 30 min from a distance of 5 - 6 feet.  Magneto therapy:- After the color therapy we use low powered magnetic goggles (200-300 guazz) for 10 min with NORTH POLE on right eye and SOUTH POLE on left eye.  Laser Acupuncture:- We use 660 nm red diode laser (50 mW) to stimulte body acupoints (45-60 seconds) and scalp areas (75-90 seconds).  The points selected are Liver 3, G.B. 37, K 3, St. 36, Ren 4, H 7, L.I. 4, S.j. 5, G.B. 20, Du 14, 20, St.1, UB 1, GB1.  We give 2 treatment sessions a week. The reason for this is that I am an Acupuncturist, but more importantly, am registered as blind due to RP. As you can imagine I have spent a lot of time (and money) on (mostly) classical acupucture and herbal treatment. I have endured needling to most parts of my anatomy, including behind the eye (quihou etc). Anyway thus far the only results are that I am considerably poorer and even more blind. Obviously this is extremely disappointing, both from a health perspective, and from TCM point of view. I do hope this new protocol has some merit and benefit to people like me. However, we have to be aware that it is easy to give vulnerable people, who are desperate for some kind of treatment, false hopes. If the treatment stands up brilliant (proper trials?). BTW Attilo, as I live near your clinic in Reading (and in fact received treatment, for RP, from a Chinese Doctor who was there before you ) , perhaps you might be interested trialing it on me?
