Hi Anne,

I too have been involved with oils/Aromatherapy since the early 90s I can't

imagine life without it now.

I am currently addicted to my newest blend which is lemon, lime, red

grapefruit, lavender, basil and a touch of cedarwood.

I love to play around mixing different ones. If I mess up and make something

I don't like I use it in my cleaning spray bottle.

Welcome to the group you will learn allot here. Be sure to check the files.

Hi Anne....

One thing you are going to find out it Aromatherapy can be a lifetime

path of delight, where you can keep on learning....

I've been " into " it since the early nineties...

For me, it's also morphed into an interest in Natural Perfumery.....

It can be a Life Interest, if you want it to be...

To this day, my most often used reference is Julia Lawless' " The

Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils " which I bought somewhere in

the 90's...

Not so much for the practice of any particular Aromatherapy system, but

for details regarding EO's, some absolutes, etc......

I am not sure if it currently being published...I have a hardcover

version, and I've seen a softcover....Same contents...

If not currently published, I'm sure you could find used copies thru

Amazon or other sources...

In the years since I've acquired mine, I have referred to it over and

over and over again...

In those years since I've acquired it, some availabilities have changed,

new things are available....New types of extracts, etc....

But for a good core reference, it simply can't be beat...

Hello Anne,

Welcome to the group. I am sure you will find this a place to get many answers

and may I suggest you check out the archive files. There is information there

to keep you busy for quite some time.

For book references, I would recommend you check out Martin Watt's Natural

Beauty and Plant Aromatics. Both are available on Martin's web sit at

www.aromamedical.com

I have two children at home, my son John age 11 and daughter Mary age 7. I am

sure having young children yourself that the safe use of oils is a number one

priority. You will get the information you need on Martin's web site

Gaining knowledge of Aromatherapy and how it can enhance your life and the life

of friends and family will be a lifetime quest. Safe use of these materials is

the fist step one should take beginning this journey. Enjoy.

All the best,

John

Kathy, Hi I am new to EO's and aromatherapy. the mixture you say in your post

that you are currently hooked on. Is that for a diffuser or did you say you

cleaned with ? Sounds like it would smell lovely. What is your favorite brand of

EO?

Introduction

I am new here and do wish to introduce me a bit.

I am born in 1943 in Holland, now living in Germany.

After 10 years of sailing over the globe as a ships engineer, I decided to come

ashore again and did promise myself to show what is inside of me.

At one point if was shocked, not knowing anymore who I am/was.

I started my search for my real being and lived by my wishes of my inner being.

In 1980, I experienced that I became mastered by existence.

I imploded to the inside and found universal free healing energy.

After more than a year, I could understand what had happened with my being.

Now there was a need to relate again by this energy, in order to transform my

pains from the stored up past. The spirit of suffer does become transformed into

the spirit of love. By the breathing process, I do pull inside the forgotten

spirits and my body does become more and more inspired by the spirit of

universal love.

When the body has lost his love inspiration, the body does get sick in any kind

of form. Therefore, by regaining and evolving my love inspiration the body heals

itself.

This spiritual healing energy comes form the inner void, from the inner

emptiness, which is present beyond my material matter. By my vision, this is the

last alternative for healing the body. All alternatives for healing do help, but

finally this inner healing energy is the last possibility.

I became a member of this alternative-medicine group, because I am searching for

those humans, which are interested in this possibility. Inspired by the spirit

of universal consciousness.
