She can take omega 3 fatty acids; 1-2000 mg per day. Also she should be

taking coQ 10 every day for her heart. Garlic is also good; eating oatmeal

works well.

She should also be on thyroid supplementation. Not treating her thyroid can

kill her.

Hi All,

New to the group and looking for advice. My mom is 69, has type two diabetes

(and Addisons and no thyroid))and point blank is refusing to take her

cholesterol meds her doctor has her on, because she feels over medicated and

she also feels her quality of life has improved since dropping them. As her

daughter who is dealing with a chronic illness via many alternative paths, I

say good for her! And I am glad she basically told her docs up yours.

Now however I have done some reading about how even if you take care of

yourself (which she does pretty well, though things are complicated by the

other conditions) with diabetes, Diabetes sets up your cholesterol patterns

to go backwards, raising " bad " cholesterol levels and lower good ones. Aside

from diet and exercise which she does pretty well, does anyone have any

suggestions as to what she take take herbally that will help keep her

cholesterol in balance?

Oh and if anyone could show me studies/scientific proof that drinking lab

sweeteners is bad for cholesterol, addisons, or thyroid it would be the joy

of my life as her big vice is drinking tons of diet soda.

Thanks,

Andrea
