Attilio wrote to me noticing my field as healing music. He mentioned that

he has one particular piece called Chakra Chants by Jonathan Goldman and

asked if I could explain more about the TCM aspect of this, to the whole

group.

Talk about a loaded question!!!! One that I gladly respond to though. I

had originally thought of writing out the whole dissertation regarding the

fruits of my research but I think that introducing one fruit at a time would

be more beneficial for all concerned.

Some years ago I attempted to communicate with Jonathan, who founded the

Healing Music Association. I was quite excited about the research I was

conducting and wanted to share with the association the insights I was

gaining through direct R & D in a clinical environment. Jonathon never

responded. So, I am quite grateful to Attilio for inviting me into this

group and asking me to contribute.

Some of you might be familiar with NAET (Nambudripid Allergy Elimination

Technique). I was trained in the technique out in Los Angeles under the

license of an acupuncturist. I became very proficient at kinesiology or

muscle testing. When I joined muscle testing to healing music, a whole new

world opened up for me. TCM does come into the picture so bear with me

while I lay the foundations.

In the field of healing music the chakra system is prominent. The common

practice is to associate each of the seven chakras to firstly the seven

tones of the C scale and secondly to the keys represented by those tones.

So if I wanted to rebalance or tonify a person’s heart chakra I would play a

piece in F – F being the fourth tone (key) up from C. This model turned

out to be incomplete based on my clinical experience.

Think for a moment of people that you know and hear each of them speak

inside your mind. Of course you don’t have to do this if there is ambient

conversation going on around you right now. The point of this exercise is

to realize that each person is speaking at a different tone. I myself speak

at the tone of F. Knowing that the fifth tone up is F I now know that my

core key is Bb. In actual practice I found that the third chakra (solar

plexus) gives off the strongest energetic signature and it is best to test

for that tone, which in my case would be D. My core tones are then Bb, C,

D, Eb, F, G and A.

The model for chakra music is now complete. There are 12 tones or keys and

a patient’s core key may be any one of the 12. This however can not be

determined unless the patient is tested through either kinesiology or

scientific equipment. Some with perfect pitch may be able to determine the

patient’s core key just by listening to them speak.

Thanks for that wonderful explaination. Putting the chakras to one side, how does your music healing relate to the Zangfu and the Bian Zheng Lunzhi in clinical practice? As i've seen some recordings made in China which are related to each Yin organ and are suppose to help re-balance the disharmony of that organ.

Your welcome Ed - The files you downloaded were all composed using the

chinese pentatonic scale. Perhaps you noticed that Page 3 on my website is

“Strengthening the Elements”. On that page the theory is expanded to

include the diatonic scale plus one non-harmonic tone. From that theory I

composed a series of healing pieces that are available in MP3 format. All

together the library contains 120 MP3s that take up close to 700 MBs, so

therefore I couldn’t make them available for download. If you like I can

mail you the CD with these MP3s; just send me your address. There are 10

folders and within each folder there are 12 compositions – one for each key.

The 10 folders are the 5 elements – yin and yang.

Attilio:

I'll be at the Music Therapy conference in Canada this spring

demonstrating the modality in the Research Room throughout the

conference. For more info on this go to my website:

http://www.musicministers.org .

There are also free MP3 downloads available where the elements are

harmonized. These MP3s have therapeutic value but are in a limited

key range. Mappings of the 12 organ channels can be found @ the

voice tones link on the treatment page.

Hi Mike,

Good to hear from you again.

I'm very happy to hear your research into music as a healing art is

still continuing. Did i tell you that whilst i was in China, i

picked up a set of five CDs. Each one is related to a different Zang

organ. They were to be played when a person displayed a deficinecy

in that organ, for example, you play the Kidney CD when a person

presents a Kidney differency.

Have you heard of this and if so what do you think about it?

P.S. Good luck with the conference!

Hi:

" Each one is related to a different Zang

organ. They were to be played when a person

displayed a deficiency in that organ, for example, you

play the Kidney CD when a person presents a Kidney

differency. "

This is real interesting. Dowsers know that different

organs have different frequencies. So by playing music

at these frequencies, one can " tune in " the organ and

bring about healing?

Best regards, Jack

Hi Attilio:

I may have the same set of musics you have except mine are in tape

format - called " Yi Ching Music For Health " .

I think they are very powerful and classic Chinese for sure.

The principles of TCM are so universal that I was able to apply them

to the western development of music. Some patients liked the

Chinese while others preferred their music medicine in an occidental

context.

Do you have the ISBN?
