Guest guest
I joined this group because I like to try alternative methods of healing, and felt a group this size, others would have tried things. I DO NOT think this should be an avenue for people to try to sell their expensive products!! This is just my opinion.

Guest guest
I think we've all been over this before, and come to the conclusion that so long as the person " trying to sell something " is a regular contributor with posts that don't always include their products, and are up front about the posts when they do think their product will help a person, then they are allowed to post. We can't all know about every product out there so it's a good thing when someone else has tried a product and it worked for them, and they love it so much they are now selling it. That says something for the worthiness of the product, don't you think? I personally LIKE to read about other people's experiences with products I know nothing about. The person we all find annoying is the one who never even used the product and is simply using this group as a sales spring board. Apparently though, no one whether they believe and use their own product, or are simply salesmen, gets kicked off the list. So, it's up to the reader to determine whether the person (and product) is worth reading. If you DON'T think the person's posts are worth reading or their product worth hearing about, there's always the magic delete button. And if you are really annoyed at the person/product there's always the block sender option in your email program. Use that and you never have to see another annoying post again. PS--expensive is determined by the size of the wallet of the reader. :-) Besides, like the saying goes--how much is your health worth?? Guest guest
I just joined this group, and find myself in the debate. I operate an online natural products store. It's a small, but specialized, operation. Hence, I don't have the resources to advertise my products, and would have to raise my prices if I did. It helps to let fellow natural products users about my products in forums like this. However, I'm sensitive not to abuse the group with too many postings. Just try to keep it gentle. I hope that's OK with you all! Guest guest
In seeing today's digest still mentioning this I think it should be a consideration to pose to the group, should we simply set up some sort of bylaw that states anyone attempting to sell loses membership? Or should we agree to keep it to a minimum and eat our comments? Seriously, I am usually eager to read today's digest for hints and news in the alternative world and all of this negativity and back and forth to sell or not to sell is just not working for us and our overarching goals. How should we move it forward so it's not such an issue in the future? Just trying to bring some action to alleviating one more headache Happy New Year all! And for those of you on digest, skip to the next message And can we give up this selling conversation (because we will NEVER come to any conclusion because it seems we are split 50/50 on how we feel about it) and get on with health issues? How about we make a new years resolution--stick to health posts and let the selling chips fall where they may. Happy New Year and may 07 bring you great health, prosperity and happiness. Guest guest
I have bought several products I did not know existed. If they have something good then go for it. If the person has taken the product and really believes in it they should be able to advertise it. If they message you privately and try to sell you stuff without you asking then they should be removed. I am going to try the zeolite for sure. I am a naturopath and have many patients needing wanting celation but it is hard on you to remove the toxins through the liver. This product seems like it might work, had susan not mentioned it I would have never know about it. Guest guest
my two cents....i dont have a problem with letting others know that you have product that they are looking for, however, one must be careful to not cause a conflict of interest, making claims just to make a buck.....just my two cents! happy new year everyone. jenny --- Renee <gaiacita wrote: > Bylaw? Guest guest
Just a note, not trying to spoil anything for anyone, but remember--no matter how great a product is, it doesn't always work for everyone. I had read so much about the zeolite I decided to try it. I took a full bottle in 10 days, the " boost " stage that they talk about, and never noticed any difference at all in my health. Now, I know a lady that swears it saved her from having a kidney transplant, and others that it has made a major impact on their health, but it didn't do a thing for me. So, I hope it works for you, but if not, know that nothing works for everyone. But, you won't know till you try! :-) Samala Renee ---- Sharon had mentioned zeolite and I emailed her privately and have Ordered some. Guest guest
Renee, that is so true, in my practice I use a little of everything depending on the client, some massage works, others herbs or homeopathy. But I will say celation takes longer than 10 days. A herbal is usually a minimum of 2 to 3 months if you are lucky to bring you back into balance. I would of done a 30 day then wrote it off. I am learning quantum touch and furthering my Homeopathy education now to round off my practice to try and help where other things fail, a combination usually works best. Guest guest
I've also bought some herbs from Ien from our group that I never heard of because they come from the rainforest and I've never seen it in the store. I healed a cracked finger overnight and got rid of a skin ulcer with it, also overnight. Amazing stuff and better than the aloe vera that I normally would have used for these things. Ien wrote a post about a week ago or so about how this group is something like a health fair. We can move from booth to booth and learn about new things and if we don't like it we just move on to the next booth. If we were at a health fair we wouldn't start getting annoyed at the vendors or having them banned from the show would we? Some groups prefer when we do sell a particular product that may help someone that we contact the person directly who asks a question about it. Personally, I feel that the whole group can benefit though and limiting it to just that person does the group a diservice. I've seen things that may help others but I didn't necessarily think of posting here on their behalf. I also recommend other products that may help. The bottom line is that no matter advice or what product you take, someone is making a profit unless you are picking a herb from a field or a tree yourself. I've also noticed that pure spam posts are ignored by members and don't get replies and I think that's the easiest way to handle it. Just ignore or delete. I love the digest because it allows me to read whatever posts I want to. If you don't know about this option just go to the Edit Membership link which is in blue right above the bar. Guest guest
Oh absolutely. But I was assured that the 10 day jump start would really " do something for me--for everyone actually. :-), even though I told the lady I didn't have much wrong with me. I actually wanted to see what it would do before giving it to my father. He has leukemia and diabetes and I didn't want it to do too much detoxing all at once. Well, that 10 day did nothing for me. Zip. Nada. So not saying that it wouldn't do anything for Dad, but I really needed to see some sort of response myself before giving it to him. He knows nothing about anything alternative, and relies on me for his health as he's also blind from the diabetes. Therefore he can't get to the bathroom very quickly, and I needed to see how this stuff would react on me first, but because it didn't do anything for me, I'm reluctant to give it to him. What if it gave him violent diarrhea? That would be too much for him. Sooo. But, I just wanted to let everyone know that there's always the chance that something won't work at all, or the way it's suppose to. But not to be disappointed--keep trying. You just never know when you will find the perfect product for the problem. And you are right again, Kathy--it's almost ALWAYS a combination of things that work best. Diet, exercise, fresh air, good clean water, supplements, good food, energy work, balanced emotions and products. Guest guest
Oh how I am fed up with all these differing opinions about whether someone should be allowed to post a sales message or not. I have only read just one, one, well reasoned response. My mailbox has been filled to the brim with irrational replies from people who have been judgemental. We would have no products of any kind, nor any information about anything with which to tax our brains and to mull over if people didn't communicate. It does not matter if the communication is pitched as a sales mechanism or information only. People DO trade and they DO, even if they are unaware of doing so, communicate. Trade and information makes the world go round and most of us sell ourselves in the pursuit of the daily dollar, pound, shekel or dhiram. It is altruism in the extreme to judge someone to be beyond the limits of acceptance because they happen to mention that they sell things. If it is found to be distasteful to you then exercise your personal right to delete or ignore and please get back on the path to sanity and realism. Censorship is an evil with which we should all do without. Demanding censorship is what is really beyond acceptance. I don't want to read a digest. I want individual mails and I am prepared to ignore or delete those of no interest but over 80% of today's individual mails have been deleted by me and the sad thing is I have to read some of the responses just to find out its more nastiness. God's teeth - end it now and move on.

I tend to like to hear about other's experiences because I would rather hear about a product from someone who has used it rather than from someone who is selling it.
