Guest guest
Hi I have a question for anyone who knows alot about herbal in pill form. I usually order my Shatavari from Herbal Vedic, but this time the health food store ordered it from Soloray so I had to take it or go two more weeks without it. On this particular bottle it says Shatavari (root powder) 500mg (Guaranteed 175mg 35% Shatavarins) Can someone explain the second part to me.. does that mean that only 35% of the actually pill is Shatavari ? thx for any clarification Hugs Deana >
Guest guest
Prozac is not safe in any combination. THE STORY BEHIND PROZAC... the KILLER DRUG by Thomas G. Whittle and Richard Wieland In the face of ever-mounting evidence of the dangers of the psychiatric drug Prozac, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has balked at moving against the antidepressant which has accumulated more adverse reaction reports than any other substance in the 24-year history of the FDA's adverse drug reaction reporting system. Based on documents recently obtained by FREEDOM under the Freedom of Information Act, as of September 16, 1993, 28,623 reports of adverse reactions to Prozac had been received by the FDA. These included such effects as delirium, hallucinations, convulsions, violent hostility, aggression, psychosis, 1,885 suicide attempts and 1,734 deaths - 1,089 by suicide. 27 DEATHS DURING CLINICAL TRIALS Additional documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that both Eli Lilly and Co., manufacturer of Prozac, and officials of the FDA were aware that at least 27 deaths had been linked to Prozac's use before the drug was released. One of the documents shows that as of October 15, 1987, two months before Prozac was allowed on the market, there had already been 15 suicides linked to it - six by overdose, four by gunshot, three by hanging and two by drowning. A total of 12 other deaths are also described in the document, provided by Lilly to the FDA. Despite the startling information about these 27 fatalities - a substance has been recalled from the market (1) with as few as two deaths - FDA officials failed to prevent Prozac from being released. Instead, it was given final FDA approval on December 29, 1987. madam_roply <madam_roply wrote: hi a question... is it safe to take prozac and ginkgo biloba at thesame time? I am on 20mg prozac... Guest guest
I need things to help with coughs, sleep, breathing and menopause. I just read in a magazine that sucking on a piece of chocolate stops coughs. Anybody ever hear this? The article said that there is some chemical (I forget the name of it) in chocolate that stops coughing spells immediately. Not a long range cure but might help alleviate the discomfort temporarily. Guest guest
Aviana, My guess is that it would be pointless to take any herbs or teas ON TOP OF the medications, as very likely it's the medications which are causing the problems you're experiencing. I'd ask Doc for his free tape, and then take him up on his offer of a free consult. I'm sure he could help you with this. love Lisa - Aviana SnowWolfe herbal remedies Thursday, November 25, 2004 3:57 AM Herbal Remedies - Question Hello, I am new to this group. Guest guest
Hello Dawn, I'm new to growing them also, but I have been doing some homework. I have found out that most are not like planting vegetables. Some need to go through what is called cold conditioning and take longer to germinate. Golden Seal (Hydrastis Canadensis) can take between 6 months to 2 years. Which herbs are you wanting to grow? I'll look in my books for some information on them. This will be beneficial to us since we have 7 in the house and I am always running to the herb store for something. I have seeds, but will they grow better that way or do I buy the plants? I toss the ground and use just good potting soil, someone told me manure. I do not have a green thumb, but I really could use these plants for remedies around the house as well as cooking. Can someone help with a little advice. I am new to this, so I may need to be walked through some. Thanks in advance for the advice. This will be beneficial to > us since we have 7 in the house and I am always running to the herb > store for something. I have seeds, but will they grow better that > way or do I buy the plants? You can plant the seeds and if they don't grow fast enough or do well you can still buy plants later. Some seeds germinate in a few days some take up to many weeks to germinate. Hard seeds from long lived plants often take a long time to germinate. Small (tiny) seeds often need light to trigger germination and are best just spread on the surface and pressed in. For a beginner grower buying plants is a choice that often works out the best. > I toss the ground and use just good > potting soil, someone told me manure. I do not have a green thumb, > but I really could use these plants for remedies around the house as > well as cooking. Can someone help with a little advice. A lot of inexperienced people over water. The soil should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings when watering mature plants with developed root systems. However don't let seedling dry out too much because their root systems are tiny and shallow, but don't drown them. Too much moisture or humidity will encourage the growth of mold which can kill young seedlings. I wouldn't use manure for starting seeds unless it was well rotted. Gardening is a wonderful and rewarding pass time. regards, Bruce
Guest guest
Have you been to www.curezone.com ? You may find the answer to your problem there. Sounds to me like you may need to do the liver/gallbladder cleanse. I would avoid all processed foods and greasy foods. Also try some Milk Thistle and dandeloin root herbs. These are both beneficial to the liver and gallbladder. So is organic lemon squeezed into distilled water. And a good digestive enzyme would help too. Felt like it must have been in the muscle wall, didn't hurt at all, just a lot of fluttering, and now there's a little maybe muscle-soreness there. But I get such a sick headache! So weak, an awful, putrid feeling in my midsection, and it takes two or three days to get back to normal. Been trying coffee enemas lately, and it seems to make it a lot better a lot quicker. Side benefit of that was, after the second coffee enema in two days, all the asthma-type symptoms I've had for a couple years were gone, and stayed away for weeks. I'm on Synthroid 150 mcg. I have been taking this med for probably 12 years or more. I want to get healthy and be able to stop this med, but I'm being told by doctor that Synthroid makes your thyroid stop working. What are the steps I can take to wean off this medicine? I tried this several years ago, and I became very ill. I was nearly in a coma so don't want to go through that again. Of course, I wasn't using any herbs or doing anything healthy at that time. Just decided I didn't want to take the medicine anymore. 2. I have high cholesterol. I'm not taking any medications for this problem. I have been told that if I do a total body cleanse and eat only produce that within six months my cholesterol should be better. This I believe, but I asking for confirmation or if there is anything else I should do. 3. Suggestions on how to stop smoking and drinking coffee? I started eating only organic raw produce earlier this week, and I'm feeling better. Will start body cleanse when I receive the products. Thanks for any help you can offer.
